Box Office: 'Stree 2' Scores Biggest Third Weekend In Hindi

Mumbai, September 1 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Stree 2 is a one-horse race at the box office with no competition at all. The movie continues to be the first choice of moviegoers which leads to explosive third weekend collection domestically. ##' The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rai-fronted blockbuster scored a sensational 47 crores net collection in its third weekend after an estimated 21-22 crores net on Sunday. With this, it has scored the biggest third weekend ever in Hindi, beating Baahubali 2's approximately 42.50 crores net.## Stree 2's total India net collection is around 480 crores after 18 days and it will be breaking into the magical box office club of 500 crores net by the end of this week. It will be the first Bollywood movie of 2024 to enter the 500-crore club. ## As said, Stree 2 is chasing history at the box office. Mumbai, September 1 - Kangana Ranaut-fronted biographical drama film Emergency is set to be postponed from September 6. The movie, directed and headlined by Kangana, has been facing issues since the trailer was launched recently. ## Yesterday, Kangana shared a video stating that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has stalled the censor certificate amid threats and demanding major cuts. While the official announcement has yet to be made, it is said that the movie has been postponed as it is yet to get a censor certificate. ## Emergency has been in the news for quite some time now. 'Stree 2' Beats 'Fighter' To Become Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie of 2024 At The Overseas Box Office

Mumbai, September 1 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted mega-blockbuster Stree 2 has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024 at the overseas box office, after beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter. ## The horror-comedy, directed by Amar Kaushik, has grossed an estimated 110 crores internationally in 17 days so far, surpassing the lifetime overseas total of Fighter's 104 crores. These two are the only Bollywood films of the year to cross the 100-crore mark outside India. ## Among the Indian films of the year, Stree 2 is behind only Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (275 crores approx.) at the overseas box office. Kalki is a multilingual release and it grossed over 50 crores in Hindi internationally. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Stree 2 is nearing 700 crores mark at the worldwide box office. After the third Saturday (17th day), it grossed approximately 657 crores, including 547 crores (458 crores net) in India. Mumbai, August 31 - Critically acclaimed folk horror thriller Tumbbad is making its way back to the big screen this September. ## The film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, is set to be re-released on September 13. It was supposed to get re-issued on August 30 but has been pushed back by 2 weeks. The makers announced the re-release date on Saturday with a new poster. ## The poster features the film's protagonist, Vinayak Rao (played by Sohum Shah), leading his young son Pandurang (played by Mohammad Samad) through the night with a lantern, with an atmosphere of supernatural elements of their journey. ## The film, written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Gandhi, and produced by Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Ali Abbas Zafar Returns To YRF For The Upcoming Films

Mumbai, August 30 - Blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar is returning to Yash Raj Films to direct some of the biggest films upcoming films from the studio, reports Variety. ## The Sultan director made his directorial debut with YRF's romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in 2011. He followed this with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's Gunday (2014) for the studio. ## Zafar got his biggest breakthrough under YRF in 2016 when he directed superstar Salman Khan's sports drama Sultan which is his highest-grossing film to date. A year later in 2017, the filmmaker reunited with Salman for another blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, the second instalment of YRF's popular spy universe franchise created by YRF head Aditya Chopra. ## After making his first 4 directorial ventures for Yash Raj Films, Abbas Zafar reunited with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star for the third time for Bharat (2019) which was the filmmaker's first movie outside YRF, before he directed 2 OTT films - Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023). ## After scoring big success with all his theatrical films, Ali had a rare misfire earlier this year in the form of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which bombed at the box office. Director Om Raut Happy With Prabhas-Fronted 'Adipurush' Box Office Performance

Mumbai, August 29 - Director Om Raut has finally opened up on Adipurush, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas. Prasanna. ## Aamir will be returning to the big screen after more than two years after the debacle box office performance of the comedy-drama Lal Singh Chaddha (2022). 'Stree 2' Crosses 2 Crore (20 Million) Footfalls In India; Second Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Mumbai, August 27 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has become only the second Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 2 crores tickets at the Indian box office, after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. ## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster sold nearly 1 million tickets on its 12th day, second Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), for total footfalls of approximately 2.06 crores (20.06 million) in 12 days so far, behind just Kalki 2898 AD which has sold 3.63 crores of tickets. ## Notably, Stree 2 has sold 20+ million tickets in just a single language while Kalki is a multi-lingual movie. In Hindi, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster sold approximately 1.56 crores of tickets in India which is the second highest of the year. Hrithik Roshan's Fighter is at three with 1.17 crores footfalls in Hindi.## At the box office, Stree 2 is nearing 500 crores gross collection in India. Box Office: 'Stree 2' Second Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, August 26 - After the all-time biggest second-weekend collection in Hindi, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 scores a good hold on its second Monday, which is a partial holiday on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.## The day-wise box office trend of Stree 2 has been heavily frontloaded so far, and the momentum continued on its 12th day (second Monday) though the drop is harsher than expected by around 60% for an estimated 17-18 crores net collection. ## The second Monday collection of Stree 2, however, is big enough to take the total to past 400 crores net at around 401+ crores, making it the first Hindi film of 2024 to do so. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Sets Release Timeline For Prabhas-Fronted 'Spirit' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal Park'

Mumbai, August 26 - Maverick director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to direct Pan India superstar Prabhas and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in his next films. The filmmaker delivered a monstrous blockbuster last year in the form of Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal which was the talk of the town after getting released in December.## It has been over 8 months since Animal was released and the fans are now waiting for the filmmaker's next film. During a recent interview, Vanga shared that he already has planned his next two films on which, he would be working for the next four years. ## As known to everyone, the Kabir Singh director has Prabhas-fronted Spirit as his next film. He shared an update that the pre-production work on the movie has already started and will be released in the next 2 years, which means in 2026 only.## The initial plan was to start the filming for Spirit by 2024 end and release it in 2025, however, it seems the shoot will start early next year for the 2026 theatrical debut, as revealed by the filmmaker. The movie will be a pure mass entertainer, unlike the previous 2 films of the director. ## After Spirit, Vanga will start Animal Park which is the sequel to Animal. Ranbir Kapoor will return to reprise his double roles as Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz Haque.
