'Avatar: The Way of Water' Set To Be Over 3 Hours Long

Los Angeles, July 5 - There is a huge curiosity and excitement among audiences worldwide about James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water", and why not, after all, it is the successor of the world's highest-grossing film of all time. ## "Avatar", which was released in 2009, shattered records upon its release and stormed $2.84 billion in its initial box office run. The record was broken by "Avengers Endgame", however, it reclaimed the top position after a 2021 re-release in China with $2.89 billion and is set to add more to that total when it returns to cinemas in September this year. ## The first "Avatar" movie ran for 160 minutes (3 hours) but still felt like wanting more of it. "I can almost write this part of the review. 'The agonizingly long three-hour movie...' It's like, give me a fucking break. I've watched my kids sit and do five one-hour episodes in a row. Here's the big social paradigm shift that has to happen: it's okay to get up and go pee".## The movie is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. Los Angeles, July 3 - Universal/Illumination's Minions: Rise of Gru is putting up a big show at the box office, and has surprised the Hollywood trade experts. ## The sequel to the spin-off prequel Minions (2015) and the fifth entry overall in the Despicable Me franchise "Minions: Rise of Gru" scored a gigantic $108.5 million in the first three days as the long July 4th holiday weekend heads for a massive $128 million at the North American box office, as per The Hollywood Reporter. ## The $128 million July 4th weekend of Minions is way ahead of Industry's projection which was around $80 million. While the 4-days total of the film is by far the biggest for an animated movie during the covid-19 pandemic, it is also one of the top starts ever at the domestic box office for an animated Hollywood title. ## At the international box office, "Minions: Rise of Gru" scored a huge $94 million through Sunday, pushing the global cume to $202 million, including a $108 million domestic opening weekend. ## The Hollywood industry is seeing Minions' box office performance differently. The movie has confirmed that parents and younger kids are ready to return to the multiplex in droves, overcoming their covid fear which was holding them back before. Los Angeles, July 1 - Warner Bros. is shifting the release dates of two of its most-awaited high-profile films, sequels to "Dune" and "Godzilla vs. Kong". ## Director Denis Villeneuve's "Dune 2", which was originally announced for October 20, 2023, release, will now be hitting theaters on November 17, 2023. That means the sequel will have the advantage of playing over the Thanksgiving holiday.## The first part of this sci-fi epic, the adaptation of the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max in the USA on October 22, 2021. It grossed $108.3 million in North America while worldwide, it scored $401 million and also won 6 Oscars. ## Meanwhile, Warner Bros./Legendary has set the release date of Adam Wingard's next installment in the Godzilla Vs. Marvel president Kevin Feige confirmed the development during a virtual press conference on Friday for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.## San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is scheduled to take place in July this year and the announcement of Marvel's presence has come out as a major boost for the event. SDCC canceled its in-person conventions in July 2020 and July 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.## Although a pared-down Comic-Con did take place at the San Diego Convention Center over Thanksgiving weekend in 2021, Marvel did not hold any panels during the event nor did it participate in the virtual Comic-Con@Home events that replaced the July 2020 and 2021 conventions. ## Marvel panel has always been the center attraction at SDCC as people have been keen to know what Marvel has in its store for the future. Los Angeles, June 24 - James Cameron's epic romantic and disaster blockbuster, Titanic will be returning to the theaters for one more time next year. ## The movie will be completing 25 years of its historical release next year and to celebrate its 25th anniversary, the remastered version of the film will be released worldwide during the Valentine's Day week 2023 in 3D 4K HDR and high frame rate. ## Disney Studio will handle the international release of "Titanic", beginning February 10, 2023, while Paramount has domestic (North America) rights and is expected to also set its date in the coming days, according to Deadline. Producer Jon Landau teased news of the "Titanic's" re-release at Disney's CineEurope presentation in Barcelona on Wednesday. Mumbai, June 21 - James Cameron's long-awaited sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water is the most-awaited Hollywood film in India, as per Ormax Media. "Avatar 2" is slated to release on December 16, 2022, worldwide. ## Ormax Media is a leading media consulting firm in India that tracks OTT viewership and audience interests in cinema. According to the recent survey by Ormax, it was found the Indian audience is most eager to watch a Hollywood movie is "Avatar 2", followed by Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible 7". ## "Avatar 2" is the second film in Cameron's Avatar franchise, following Avatar (2009). The film is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. It begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. ## The movie stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, and Giovanni Ribisi to reprise their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role. ## Meanwhile, among the other most-awaited Hollywood films in India, Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is at number 3 followed by "Guardians of The Galaxy: Vol. 3" and "The Marvels" at number 4 and 5.
