'Thor: Love and Thunder' Scores Thunderous $302 Million Worldwide In The Opening Weekend
Mumbai, July 10 - Marvel Studios-backed fourth installment of Thor - Thor: Love and Thunder take home a thunderous $302 million from its worldwide opening weekend box office. ## The global total of "Thor 4" includes $143 million in North America and a mighty $159 million internationally. The domestic opening weekend of the superhero flick slightly came lower than the industry's projection of $150M-$170M but performed way better overseas by coming ahead of the projection. ## "Thor: Love and Thunder" is one of the lowest-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe movies of all time with a critics' score of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, but that did not come in its way to differ its target at the domestic box office. Internationally as well, the movie is having the mixed word of mouth but still performed the way Marvel movies should do. ## Korea has led "Thor 4's" international run with $15.3 million in the opening weekend, followed by the United Kingdom with $14.8 million. India has once again proved Marvel-friendly at the box office with an excellent $10.3 million in the 4-day opening weekend. It beats "Thor: Ragnarok's" lifetime collection to become the highest-grossing Thor movie at the Indian box office. ## "Love and Thunder" follows Chris Hemsworth's Norse god as he teams up with his former beau Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who now wields her own hammer as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a journey to defeat the galactic villain Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who is hellbent on his plan to purge the globe of all things divine.## Stay tuned...
