Puneeth Rajkumar Fans Urge CMO Karnataka To Withdraw Its Order Of Reducing Seating Cap In Theaters

Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar's film "Yuvarathnaa" was released on April 2nd in theaters. The movie got a thrilling response at the box office and roars with 10.05 crores gross opening. Looking at the positive words of mouth and enthusiasm of fans, Yuvarathnaa was all set to carry the momentum throughout the first week. However, the decision of reducing seating capacity in cinemas by the Karnataka government will surely dent Yuvarathnaa's collection going forward. ## On Friday, the chief minister of Karnataka, B.S. Yediyurappa announced that theaters in the state will run with 50% of seating capacity amid the rising of covid-19 cases in the state and all over the country. This decision came at a time when theatrical business is on a recovery path after going through a tough period of lockdown. ## The fans of Puneeth Rajkumar expressed their disappointment over this decision and now, urging the chief minister to withdraw his order to allow a 100% seating cap again in order to save cinemas and livelihood depend upon them. After a long forced break due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was around a month ago that the team of the magnum opus KGF: Chapter 2 resumed shooting in a studio in Bengaluru with most of the primary cast members.## The team has now set sail for a pivotal schedule that will be shot in Mangaluru. Just like the Bollywood film industry, the Sandalwood industry has also come under the scanner in the drug-related case. The Central Crime Branch had allegedly begun their probe into the drug trafficking case and have arrested several people so far. ## On Tuesday (September 15), Karnataka Police conducted searches at former Karnataka minister late Jeevaraj Alva's son Aditya Alva, who is also the brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.## Aditya Alva is named one of the 12 accused in the Sandalwood drug scandal.## Speaking to India Today, joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said, "Search warrant was taken and search being conducted at Aditya Alva house near Hebbal called 'House of Lives'."## The development comes a day after Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi arrested last week in the police crackdown against drug abuse in the film industry.
