'Ramarao On Duty' Director Sarath Mandava Makes A Valid Point On Critics' Reviews

However, it is unfortunate that critics' reviews are still able to influence the audience which is directly affecting some films' business if not all. ## In the last few months, many filmmakers have spoken about biased reviews by critics and the list is joined by the director of Ravi Teja's upcoming movie "Ramarao On Duty", Sarath Mandava. During a recent interaction with Telugu media, Sarath Mandava made a valid point on reviews by critics. ## The director indirectly stated that some of the critics are opportunists who give low ratings to some of the movies for their own benefit. While giving the example of a recently 1000-crore worldwide grosser movie, Mandava said, "If a film ended up becoming a huge blockbuster irrespective of bad reviews, will the reviewers accept their mistake & correct the reviews?"## He went on to say that reviews are perceptions of a few people and the audience should be aware of that. "For a big recent film, some of the websites gave 2.5 ratings but the movie ended grossing more than 1000 crores at the worldwide box office. Makers Set High Price For Overseas Rights of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' And Ram Charan's 'RC15'

Hyderabad, July 8 - One of the top Telugu film producers Dil Raju currently has two of the biggest Indian films under his production. The Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Tami-Telugu action drama film, Varisu/Vaarasudu and Ram Charan-fronted "RC15", carrying a lot of buzz and are scheduled to hit screens in 2023. ## Both the movies, which are different completely different from each other, are expected to take huge openings at the domestic and well as overseas box office. "RC15" is a Pan India movie and will also be released in Hindi languages. Meanwhile, the makers are betting big on both the films and asking for huge prices for overseas rights for both.## According to Telugu media, the asking price for overseas rights of both the films by makers is around 65 crores. It is said that the buyers are showing keen interest to grab those movies despite such high prices and multiple buyers are reportedly in the race to get the rights.## There is no doubt that both "Varisu" and "RC15" are huge films that have the potential to do wonders at the box office, so a huge overseas asking price for them is not surprising at all. Both the movies will be released in the first quarter of 2023 as "Varisu" is slated for Pongal release while "RC15" may release in February or March. ## Talking about "Varisu", it is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally and this marks his maiden film with Thalapathy Vijay. The movie stars an ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, along with Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Shaam, and Yogi Babu, among others. Knowing the fact that "Pushpa 2" is a hot property in Hindi, Mythri is reportedly in talks with several studios and distributors for the release of the film. ## That is not all, according to reports, the producers of the film are looking to apply the formula of "Baahubali" and "KGF" in Hindi to get the best return. BB and KGF films were released in Hindi on commision basis through Hindi distributors as the producers were confident of the box office prospects of their films. There is a high possibility that Mythri can take a similar route by getting a distributor on board commission basis for the Hindi release. ## Interestingly, the production of the movie is yet to begin and the makers are already getting huge offers from Hindi distributors. Hyderabad, July 1 - The Tollywood film industry producers have brought new rules for the upcoming movies starting from today (July 1). The industry has been a standout performer during the covid-19 pandemic, however, it reduced the gap between theatrical and OTT window, which has now been revised.## From July 1st onwards, all the top stars' movies will have to complete at least 8 weeks of the theatrical window before making them available while other movies will need a minimum of 6 weeks to run in theaters. This move will certainly help theater owners to maximize the potential of hit movies. ## The rule of the mandatory theatrical window for Telugu movies came after many top stars' movies opted for the OTT route only 4 weeks of theatrical release. Some of them even went for just a 3-week window, which includes Prabhas' "Radhe Shyam".
