Mumbai, September 4 - There have been only two films in the history of Indian cinema to score 500+ crores net collection in a single language at the domestic box office and both have come in Hindi. SS Rajamouli and Prabhas' "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" (2017) was the first movie to do so before Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" joined it earlier this year.## Now, Sunny Deol-fronted latest blockbuster "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" has joined them and becomes the third film ever and second Bollywood movie to hit this rare prestigious box office milestone in a record time.## "Gadar 2", directed by Anil Sharma, has crossed 500 crores net collection mark in its 24th day, and at the same time, "Pathaan" scored 490.35 crores net while "Baahubali 2" made 478.30 crores net. Mumbai, August 21 - Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama OMG 2 has a drop of around 70% today on its second Monday which is a bit higher but the overall collection remains decent considering various factors.## Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 scored an estimated 3.75 crores net collection on its second Monday/11th day. This takes the total collection to around 117.50 crores net to date. The trend in multiplex centers is strong while mass centers continue to perform low for the movie.## OMG 2 will reach around 125 crores net mark by the end of the second week. The movie will have additional competition in the coming weekend in the form of Dream Girl 2, however, it should be able to retain maximum screens, especially in multiplexes.## It will be interesting to see if OMG 2 can go near the 150 crores mark as that should be its target from now on. Mumbai, August 20 - Mega blockbuster Gadar 2 scored a sensational second weekend at the domestic box office, showing a drop of just around 30% from the first weekend. The second-weekend hold for the movie is nothing short of extraordinary considering the first weekend itself was massive.## The Anil Sharma's directorial movie scored an estimated around 40 crores net on its second Sunday, showing a massive jump of around 30% from Saturday. The jump over the second weekend is massive, especially on Saturday and Sunday where collection nearly jumped by 1.5x from the previous day which is phenomenal.## The second Sunday estimates of the movie take the total collection to around 377 crores, which makes it the 4th highest net-earning movie in Hindi of all time, beating Aamir Khan's Dangal which scored 374 crores net in Hindi languages. The second-weekend collection of Gadar 2 is around 91 crores, which is the highest second weekend of all time by a huge margin.## Gadar 2 will go past 400 crores net mark by the second Tuesday or Wednesday and it will be crossing KGF: Chapter 2 in the third weekend to become the third biggest Hindi movie of all time, behind Pathaan and Baahubali 2. Mumbai, August 20 - OMG 2 has a very good second weekend, dropping just around 30% from the first weekend which is a fantastic hold. The movie scored a jump of around 20% on its second Sunday from the second Saturday collection. ## The early estimate suggests a second Sunday/10th-day collection of OMG 2 around 12.50-13 crores net which takes the total collection to over 114 crores net. The second-weekend collection is over 29 crores net which is one of the highest for a mid-budget Bollywood movie this year.## OMG 2 has been excellent in multiplex chains as the majority of its collection has come through those chains while smaller centers continue to remain low due to the domination of Gadar 2. The low performances in single screens have reduced OMG 2 to around its current total otherwise it could have easily around 150 crores net by now. A solo release would have done that for it.## The movie is the first 100 crores net scorer for director Amit Rai as well as Pankaj Tripathi who plays the center role in the movie. The jump today is at least 75% and can go up to 85% depending on the performance of the smaller centers.## The early estimates suggest a second Saturday collection of OMG 2 around 10.50-11 crores net and can go higher which remains to see. This takes the total collection to over 101.50 crores net in just 9 days, becoming the first Akshay Kumar-starrer since "Sooryavanshi" to enter the 100 crores net club.## The second weekend of OMG 2 is eyeing around 28-30 crores net which will be a fantastic hold with a drop of just 40% from the opening weekend. The movie, as has been the trend so far, scored a big jump in the multiplex while non-multiplex also witnessed a decent jump today.## OMG 2 will be around 115 crores after the second weekend and now, it will easily cross the 125 crores net mark and has a genuine shot at reaching 150 crores lifetime collection. It is currently 6th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023 in India, behind Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" which grossed 175 crores in March this year.## At the overseas box office, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" is sensational and has turned into a blockbuster success. It has turned into one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.## Now, Sunny Deol is gearing up to bring the sequel to his other classic blockbuster, "Border" (1997). According to Pinkvilla, the actor is reuniting with filmmaker JP Dutta for India's biggest war film "Border 2". The makers are in advanced talks with a top studio for the same.## It is said that the makers have been planning to make "Border 2" for the last 2-3 years and things have finally fallen into place as the team is set to make the official announcement soon. It will be set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak war in 1971.## "Border 2" will be produced by JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta along with a top studio. The report says that the movie will cast a younger generation of actors rather than bringing the original cast back. Churachandpur, August 19 - Vicky Kaushal-led military action film "Uri: The Surgical Strike" becomes the first Bollywood movie in 20 years to get screened in Manipur state. ## The movie about surgical strikes against Pakistan-based terrorists was shown in a temporary open-air theatre in Churachandpur on Tuesday, according to ABPLive.## "Uri" marked the return of cinema to the conflict-torn state of Manipur after more than 20 years. The Rengkai (Lamka) screening of the movie saw decent attendance. It was screened by the Hmar Students' Association (HSA). ## The national anthem was played at the outdoor theatre, which is located 63 kilometers from the capital city before the film started. Apart from "Ur", three more Hindi movies will be screened including, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai".## "Uri", directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by RSVP Movies, is a fictionalized portrayal of the actual event of the response to the 2016 Uri attack. It tells the story of Major Vihaan Shergill of the Para (Special Forces), who played a significant role in the events. ## The movie stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role alongside Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Kirti Kulhari, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. It has become only the second Bollywood movie of the year to hit the triple century mark after Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan".## Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" scored 20.50 crores net on its second Friday/8th day which takes its total collection to 305.13 crores net. The 20.50 crores net collection is the biggest second Friday ever in the Hindi language, besting SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2" which minted 19.75 crores net. ## There have been a total of just 12 films in the Hindi language to enter 300 crores net club and "Gadar 2" is the second fastest among them to do so. It took just 8 days to get there, behind "Pathaan" which breached this milestone in just 7 days. It was a momentous week for Indian cinema which films across languages bring massive crowds in theaters.## Sunny Deol-led sequel to a 22-year-old period action drama movie "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", along with superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller "Jailer", superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama "OMG 2", and megastar Chiranjeevi's action drama "Bholaa Shankar" had a massive contribution to the historical biz as these four movies combined grossed around 750 crores at the Indian box office during the Independence Day week.## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which was released on August 11, stole the show with sensational first-week collection at the Indian box office. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie scored the all-time second-biggest first week in Hindi with a gross collection of approx. 336 crores (284.63 crores net). Overseas, it grossed approx. 33 crores, for the worldwide opening week of 369 crores. ## Superstar Rajinikanth makes a roaring comeback with Jailer which is nearing 300 crores at the domestic box office. In its extended 8-day first week, the movie grossed approx. 277 crores and becomes the highest-grossing Tamil movie of the year. Worldwide, it has crossed 400 crores as it currently stands at approx. 427 crores, including 150 crores overseas collection. ## OMG 2, the social comedy-drama which is the sequel to 2012's movie "Oh My God - OMG", also had a fantastic first week which saw it crossing 100 crores domestic gross. Though Akshay Kumar was not the main lead, the movie kind of marks a comeback for the actor who was under pressure with back-to-back flops. "OMG 2", which has Pankaj Tripathi in the central role with Yami Gautam, grossed approx. 100.50 crores (85.05 crores net) in India while worldwide collection stands at 120 crores in the first week.## Among the Independence Day 2023 week releases, megastar Chiranjeevi's Bholaa Shankar turned out to be a big let down despite being the 4th biggest grosser during the same week. It has turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in Telugu cinema featuring a top star.
