A Hat-Trick of Blockbusters For Rashmika Mandanna With Chhaava, Pushpa 2, And Animal

Mumbai, February 21 - It is not an exaggeration if I say that Rashmika Mandanna is the most-in-demand female actor in Indian cinema at present. She is full of films all the time and her ability to switch from one film to another in no time makes her the absolute darling of the filmmakers and her co-stars. Apart from doing content-driven cinema, Rashmika's almost pinpoint accuracy when it comes to choosing mass-appealing films is something that makes her one of the most successful stars of the country.## As we speak, the actress has indeed achieved a remarkable feat at the box office with a hat-trick of blockbusters, cementing her status as one of the leading actresses in Indian cinema. Her latest film, Chhaava, released on February 14, has taken the box office by storm, joining the ranks of her previous mega-hits, Animal (2023) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024). These three films have not only showcased her versatility but also her ability to draw massive audiences across different languages and genres.## Animal - Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this Bollywood action drama featured Rashmika alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Released on December 1, 2023, it became the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film in history, collecting approximately 915 crore worldwide. Rashmika's portrayal of Geetanjali, a strong and emotional character, resonated with audiences and contributed significantly to the film's success.## Pushpa 2: The Rule - Released on December 5 last year, this Telugu-origin Pan India blockbuster sequel saw Rashmika reprising her role as Srivalli opposite Icon Star Allu Arjun. Directed by Sukumar, the film shattered box office records, grossing around 1750 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. It broke every record in Hindi domestically and emerged as the biggest grosser with over 1000 crores worldwide. The actress's intense performance and the character's expanded arc further solidified her pan-India appeal.## Chhaava - A historical action drama directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava stars Rashmika as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale alongside Vicky Kaushal, who plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Released on February 14 the film crossed 100 crore in India within its opening weekend and has continued its strong run, topping 200 crore net in its first week and 300 crores gross worldwide. This success highlights Rashmika’s ability to shine in a period drama, adding another dimension to her repertoire.## This hat-trick underscores Rashmika Mandanna's incredible run at the box office, with each film crossing significant milestones - Animal with over 500 crore in India, Pushpa 2 as an all-time grosser, and Chhaava emerging as a Bollywood blockbuster in 2025. Her consistent delivery of hits across Telugu and Hindi cinema, combined with her growing fan base, positions her as a powerhouse performer. With upcoming projects like Sikandar alongside Salman Khan, Rashmika's streak of success shows no signs of slowing down.## Stay tuned...

Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari: Chapter 2' - One of The Best Films of Dharma Productions

Mumbai, February 19 - Superstar Akshay Kumar is a beast of an actor when it comes to playing real-life characters on the big screen. His Kesari (2019) is one of the most memorable films in his vast filmography. The movie was based on the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897. ## The next up for the actor is Kesari: Chapter 2, which is based on the story of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who fought an 'unprecedented battle' against the British empire in the 1920s after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The movie has been in the news for the last few days after the info about its title was revealed. ## Though, Kesari: Chapter 2 is completely different from the original film, it is said that the movie has a thematic similarity with its namesake. Like Kesari, the upcoming movie also focuses on an important chapter of Indian history and both films share a common thread of bravery, inspiration, and patriotism as their core elements. ## As the movie is gaining momentum, producer Karan Johar of Dharma Productions has raised the hype further by calling it one of their best films. During an interview with Komal Nahata, the filmmaker was asked if he had to make a war film, which chapter of history he would like to explore.## The ace filmmaker mentioned that he would love to make a war film on the Jallianwala Bagh incident. He added that there is a true story that he is producing about a man named C. Sankaran Nair, who fought the English crown because, at the time, Colonel Dyer claimed that it was a self-defence act (Jallianwala Bagh massacre), which is simply horrible to hear.## The movie, which was earlier supposed to be titled Shankara, is directed by debutante Karan Singh Tyagi with Akshay Kumar in the lead. Johar added, "I want to say this on record - it (Kesari Chapter 2) is one of our best films that we’ve made and I'm so proud of it. I couldn't wait for the audience to watch the film".## Kesari Chapter 2 also stars R. Madhavan and Ananya Pandey in prominent roles and is produced by Amritpal Bindra, Leo Collective and Dharma Productions. The movie is scheduled to be released on April 18, 2025. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, February 18 - After the remarkable hold on Monday, Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama Chhaava remained unshakable on Tuesday as well with the collection seeing a slight jump due to the holiday in Maharashtra tomorrow. ## According to early estimates, Chhaava has scored 24-25 crores net collection on its 5th day or first Tuesday, pushing the total collection to around 165 crores. If not tomorrow, then the movie will be sure to enter this club by Thursday. ## Chhaava will continue to have an advantage throughout this month. Mumbai, February 17 - The box office juggernaut of Maddock Films' Chhaava kept a 9-year-old cult classic romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam in check after scoring a fantastic first-week collection upon its re-release.## The heartbreaking romantic tale, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, saw a dip in its pace in the second weekend but still did decent enough to remain on track to become the biggest re-release grosser at the Indian box office by beating Tumbbad.## Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam scored approximately 3.60 crores net collection in the second weekend, including around 1.35 crores net on Sunday to push its total repeat run to over 30 crores net.
