Mumbai, February 11 - Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane-fronted romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam, which was originally released in 2016, has emerged as a big success upon its re-release 9 years later. The film is doing fantastic business and is set to become the biggest re-release grosser in India. ## Despite the setback originally, Sanam Teri Kasam has turned into a cult classic over the years with immense popularity on television. Due to that, the demand for the sequel has been going on and to the excitement of the fans, the makers announced the sequel last year with Harshvardhan. ## Now, in a recent interview, director Vinay Sapru, who directed the film with Radhika Rao, confirmed that the script for part 2 is ready and also hinted that it would be released on the next Valentine's Day. The movie, directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, was announced last for a grand Diwali 2025 release in cinemas worldwide. ## The shoot of Thama has been completed, and the post-production is going full swing. The fans of Maddock's horror-comedy universe have been waiting for the first look teaser of the film, and the makers provided good news. ## On Friday (August 15), Maddock took to Twitter/X and announced that the first look teaser of Thama will be released on August 19. The pre-look teaser, in the voice of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, teases that Thama is the most powerful in the horror-comedy universe. ## The teaser of the movie was supposed to be released earlier this year, but was delayed for some reason. It is said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed 47 seconds of a teaser of Thama with a U certificate in February this year. ## Thama, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, was earlier supposed to be titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar. In the movie, a well-known and determined historian examines ancient manuscripts for clues to the mysterious vampire legends of Vijay Nagar. ## Apart from the lead cast, the film is expected to feature multiple cameos from the recent movies in Maddock's horror-comedy universe. Mumbai, February 10 - Harvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has emerged as a success story upon its re-release at the domestic box office after an excellent hold on Monday. It was a disaster in its original run 9 years ago, in 2016. ## Re-released amidst almost zero promotion at the start of Valentine's Day week on February 7, Sanam Teri Kasam stunned the trade with its opening weekend collection of approximately 15.50 crores net which is easily the biggest weekend for a Bollywood re-release title. ## On Monday, the film was outrightly the number one title at the Bollywood box office with approximately 3-3.25 crores net collection, beating the combined Monday total of Sky Force, Deva, Badass Ravikumar, and Loveyapa. With this, the total re-release collection of Sanam Teri Kasam after just 4 days is 18.50+ crores net which is more than double the film's lifetime original collection. ## The film will continue to score well throughout the Valentine's Day week as it might reach 27-30 crores net collection in the first week. There is Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava which is releasing on February 14 and is likely to open big at the box office, so needs to be seen how STK perform after that. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar, after scoring around 11 crores gross collection in its opening weekend, showed a fantastic hold on Monday to collect over 2 crores gross. Mumbai, February 9 - The 9-year-old romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has had a blockbuster opening weekend upon its re-release and has already become one of the biggest Bollywood repeat grosser at the domestic box office. ## The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane-fronted movie was a dull affair in its original run, earning just 9 crores net collection in its lifetime run, but it got its due when the film was re-released on February 7 despite almost zero promotions. ## It scored approximately 4.25+ crores net collection on the first day of re-issue, followed by a fantastic 5.25 crores net on Saturday. The movie showed a further jump on Sunday and minted approximately 6-6.25 crores net, for 15.50 crores net opening weekend which is more than +170% of its lifetime original collection. ## Sanam Teri Kasam was easily the biggest Bollywood movie this weekend despite a few new releases. The audience loves the film and the trade is stunned seeing the Housefull boards for an old movie. It is certain to do well in the coming days and sure to benefit during the Valentine's Day week. ## Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi adventure Interstellar was one more big gainer this weekend, continuing to bring good fortune for re-release titles at the Indian box office. Superstar Akshay Kumar, who has begun the year with decent success in the form of Sky Force, is looking to continue the momentum with the upcoming films over the next couple of years. ## It was revealed a couple of days ago that the Akshay-fronted biopic of C. Shankaran Nair has been titled Kesari 2. It was reported that the movie would be postponed from March 14, and now, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, Dharma Productions has scheduled it for an April 18 release in cinemas worldwide. ## Instead of Kesari 2, Dharma Productions has slotted romance drama Dhadak 2, starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi, for March 14 release on the occasion of the Holi festival. The movie was supposed to hit the big screens on February 21 after earlier getting postponed from November 2024. ## Meanwhile, with Kesari 2 heading for an April 2025 release, the report further stated that Akshay and Arshad Warsi-fronted highly-awaited courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB 3, which is scheduled for April 10 release, has been postponed to August this year. It is said that producer Karan Johar and Akshay agreed on the changes in release dates. ## One more big Dharma Productions venture of the year, rom-com Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, is reportedly getting delayed to the second half of 2025. It narrates the story of 21 brave Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army who fought with 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897 in the Battle of Saragarhi. ## Kesari was a big box office success, leading to the high critical acclaim for Akshay and others. The film's title has its legacy, and now, the same is reportedly being used for the Airlift star's next movie on the life of C. Shankaran Nair. ## Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape Of Good Films and Leo Media Collective, the film is set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, and makers are giving it a franchise treatment. According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, C. Shankaran Nair's biopic, which was earlier reportedly titled Shankara, will now be titled Kesari 2 to leverage the established recognition and thematic similarity with its namesake. ## "Although this film has no direct connection to Kesari, both films share a common thread of bravery, inspiration, and patriotism as their core elements. Like Kesari, this new film also narrates a significant chapter of history, exploring themes of nationalism and heroism", says the report.## In recent times, the sequels and the franchise movies have worked well at the box office and with Kesari having goodwill, the makers are positioning the biopic as its sequel to get the benefit of the brand and is being considered a strategic move. ## Directed by debutante Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 has reportedly been postponed from its original festive release of March 14. The exact reason for the release postponement is not yet known, and the new release date hasn't been revealed yet, per Peepingmoon. ## With the likely postponement of Kesari 2, Akshay's next release will be the highly-awaited Jolly LLB 3 which is scheduled to hit the big screen on April 10. Mumbai, February 3 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's war action thriller Sky Force has entered the 100 crores net club, becoming the first Bollywood and second Indian movie of 2025 to achieve the feat. The movie is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. ## Sky Force, based on true events, unlocked the 100 crores club on the second Sunday. It took 10 days to reach the milestone which has not been a regular case for Akshay-starrer lately. This is the actor's third 100 crores net grosser post the Covid-19 pandemic, after Sooryavanshi and OMG 2. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force's opening weekend collection was largely boosted by the huge discounted prices and since then, it has done decently with regular prices thanks to positive word of mouth and top critics' reviews. ## It is the 126th film ever to cross 100 crores net collection in Hindi, and the 16th for Akshay Kumar which is the second highest after superstar Salman Khan's 17 movies. While his Sooryavanshi was a box-office success, Cirkus turned into a massive disaster and Singham Again, which was released on Diwali last year, didn't live up to the high expectations despite grossing over 350 crores worldwide. ## The maverick filmmaker has now reportedly decided to take a break from his blockbuster cop universe and is likely to direct a standalone action thriller film next with Bollywood star John Abraham other than comedy entertainer Golmaal 5 for which the script has reportedly been locked.## According to the report by Mid-Day, Shetty began developing the script for a standalone action thriller after the release of Singham Again and a few preliminary meetings with John have already taken place. The report states that if things go as planned, the movie might go on floors by April this year and a final call will be taken by March. ## If the project materializes, it would be Shetty and John's first collaboration. The duo has reportedly discussed the dates as Shetty plans to shoot for the movie in Mumbai in a straight schedule over 45 days this summer, after which, the director will shoot for the TV reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. ## John Abraham, meanwhile, will next be seen in a thriller film, The Diplomat which said is based on true events. Mumbai, January 30 - In one of the biggest news of the year, director Priyadarshan is officially returning to direct the third instalment of the iconic comic caper, Hera Pheri franchise. He directed the original Hera Pheri (2000) and has been an absolute favourite of fans for the threequel. ## Hera Pheri 3 has been in demand for a long time and it was unofficially confirmed last year though there was no clarity on who would direct this hugely popular film. Well, this burning question finally got the answer when Priyadarshan, who is currently directing Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla, shared his willingness to helm HP3. ## On January 30, Akshay wished the filmmaker on his birthday, and in response, Priyadarshan thanked him and in return gift, he said that he was willing to direct the next chapter of the cult classic and tagged the original trio of Akshay, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. ## Akshay and other Hera Pheri stars were quick to respond to the filmmaker and were delighted to reunite.
