Los Angeles, January 13 - Marvel Studios's first blockbuster of the year, Captain America: Brave New World is gearing up for the big screen debut in February. This marks Anthony Mackie's first full-fledged Captain America film in the title role after Chris Evans retired from this duty. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the film hits the screens in less than five weeks, and the first box office projection revealed it is heading for an opening close to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened to $95 million over Friday to Sunday weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to Deadline, The Brave New World, which is a reset of the franchise, is expected to do $86 million to $95 million over the 3-day Valentine's Day Day weekend and $100+ million over Friday to Monday over Presidents' Day weekend domestically. ## There is every possibility of bigger weekend totals for the film as Deadline reports that on the tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World has the most awareness of movies opening in February 2025 and those debuting in the same weekend. ## Marvel Studios rules the 4-day Presidents' Day weekend openers domestically with the top three with 2018's Black Panther ($242.1 million), Deadpool ($152.1 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120.3 million). Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania posted a 3-day of $106.1 million, Deadpool's was $132.4 million, while Black Panther's was $202 million.## It is intended to be the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series, a continuation of the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021), and the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Kochi, January 12 - Unni Mukundan's action thriller Marco is in the last leg of its box office run but running out of time, it has done what no other A-rated Malayalam film did in the past as it has become the first adult-rated Mollywood title to to 100 crores at the worldwide box office. ## Touted as India's most violent film, Marco was released on December 20, ahead of the Christmas weekend in 2024. It opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike which led to a rampage at the box office and ended the year, what was remarkable Mollywood on the whole, on high. ## On its 24th day (4th Sunday), the Haneef Adeni-directed blockbuster stormed past the 100 crores mark at the worldwide box office. In India, the film has grossed approximately 68.50 crores while the overseas collection is around 32 crores for a global total of 100.50+ crores in 24 days. ## Marco is the 6th Malayalam film of 2024 and 9th of all-time to surpass the 100 crores gross mark worldwide. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Second Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, which was released on January 10, took a good start at the domestic box office with over 60 crores gross considering the mixed word of mouth, though it failed to meet the expectations. ## On its second day (first Saturday), the Shankar's directorial venture is witnessing a drop of over 50% which is a bit harsh even by the standards of any big Telugu film which tend to drop after the opening day. The word-of-mouth effect can be seen in day 2's collection, especially in South Indian states. ## According to the early estimates, GC is expected to gross around 13-15 crores in Telugu states, dropping over 60% from the opening day. In Karnataka, the film also dropped by around 50% for an estimated 2.25 crores gross, while in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it is expected to gross around 2-2.25 crores on the second day. ## The Hindi version of the film surprised on the first day and it remained the best-performing on Saturday with little to no drop as it minted around 7-7.50 crores net on day 2. Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross in the range of 25-28 crores on Saturday, pushing the total domestic gross to around 86+ crores in 2 days. ## The film has a big couple of days over the Sankranthi festival to score at the box office. Mumbai, January 11 - Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi drama Interstellar is finally re-releasing In Indian cinemas after a delay of a couple of months due to Pushpa 2 - The Rule's nationwide dominance. ## Interstellar was supposed to be re-released in December last year with the US release to mark its 10th anniversary, but the makers had to postpone it as it didn't get enough IMAX screens in India. With Pushpa 2 slowing down, the Hollywood blockbuster gets a date. ## On Friday, January 10, Warner Bros. India took to social media to confirm that Interstellar would be re-released in India on February 7 in the original language and IMAX. It has seemingly been the most demanded Hollywood re-release in the country and the audience finally gets to experience this epic. ## Set in a dystopian future where Earth is suffering from catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Opening Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 10 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has taken a good opening at the domestic box office and surprises in the Hindi version with a better-than-expected start.## The movie scored decent pre-sales and the star power of Ram Charan and his combination with director Shankar made sure it converted to a good start, especially in Telugu states. Despite the mixed reception, the film managed to take the biggest solo opening for RC in all major areas. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer is expected to gross around 45-50 crores in Telugu states which is a very good start. The previous biggest solo opening of RC in AP/TG was Vinaya Vidheya Rama which grossed around 33 crores back in 2019. ## In Karnataka, GC is estimated to gross 4-5 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Hindi version of the film turns out to be a surprise package as it scored an estimated around 7 crore net which is the biggest for RC other than RRR. ## The overall domestic opening of the film is expected to be in the range of 60-65 crores gross. These are good figures which could have been even stronger if word of mouth was positive. The movie has a huge added advantage of the Sankranthi festival which is expected to boost the collection in the next few days. ## It will be interesting to see how the Hindi version proceeds as word of mouth seems to be better in the North belt than in South Indian states. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, January 10 - Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 2013 blockbuster romantic-comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has had a superb first-week collection at the domestic box office upon its re-release on January 3rd.## Directed by Ayan Mukerji, YJHD opened with approximately 1.15 crores net collection and followed it with a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to score around 2.25 crores and 3 crores net collection, respectively for 6.40 crores net opening weekend.## The movie remained rock solid during the weekdays and minted approximately 6 crores net from Monday to Thursday for around 12.50 crores net, which is the second biggest first week for a Bollywood re-release after Tumbbad which scored 13.15 crores net last year. ## The superb first-week re-release collection of YJHD has helped it to enter the 200 crores club. In its original run, the film earned 188.60 crores net. With this, it has become the 43rd Hindi film to cross double century. It is the 4th film of Ranbir Kapoor and 5th for Deepika Padukone to achieve the feat. ## YJHD is showing a very good trend and is sure to do well during the Sankranthi weekend. Mumbai, January 9 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for another busy year with multiple films of his lined up for release in 2025. The actor is working on some of the most-anticipated Bollywood films and one of them is the third instalment of the iconic comedy entertainer franchise Welcome. ## Directed by Farhad Samji, Welcome To The Jungle has been in production since last year and as per the latest update, 75% of the total shoot has been completed and the remaining portions are expected to be wrapped by June this year. According to the report by Pinkvilla, Welcome 3 is heading for a Christmas 2025 release. ## The report states that the team has locked a nearly 2-hour edit of the entire footage shot to date and the stakeholders are extremely happy with everything that they have seen on the edit table so far. The film involves heavy VFX and the same is happening at a brisk pace for the already shot portions. ## The Christmas 2025 release of Welcome 3 will put it in an intense clash at the box office as Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh is already slated for a December 25 release. Additionally, there is James Cameron's Avatar 3 on December 19 and it is likely to make a massive dent in domestic releases. ## Apart from the aforementioned films, superstar Yash's Toxic is also eyeing a December 2025 release, though the exact date is not locked yet. Furthermore, there is Maddock Films' supernatural comedy Shakti Shalini, starring Kiara Advani on December 31. ## However, one can expect a shift in the release dates of the aforementioned films as it is not a wise move to bring these many films during a single holiday frame from a business point of view.
