Prabhas' 'Spirit' Shooting Details Revealed

Hyderabad, January 30 - After back-to-back big blockbusters, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has teamed up with superstar Prabhas for his first proper Pan India movie titled Spirit. The cop action thriller was announced a long time back and is finally ready to roll out this summer. ## Recently, director Sandeep Vanga shared on social media that the music work has commenced for Spirit and a couple of days ago, he met with Prabhas on the sets of the latter's Fauji to discuss something. Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Spirit is set to go on floors in May this year. ## "Sandeep Reddy Vanga has almost completed the writing process of Spirit and is ready to take the film on floors in Summer 2025. The filmmaker is planning to make the most commercial film of his career with Spirit and is planning to reinvent the cop genre with this action-packed thriller", says the report. ## Spirit will kick off in Hyderabad in May 2025, followed by multiple schedules in India and abroad. Prabhas has allotted bulk dates to shoot for this highly-anticipated film. The actor will feature in a never-before-seen avatar and will sport a lean look. He is committed to getting into a certain physique to play the part of an honest yet twisted cop. ## The primary cast of this T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures' production has already reportedly been locked. Apart from Prabhas, the film will feature Mrunal Thakur in the female lead role alongside Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as the antagonists. Mumbai, January 28 - Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has addressed the latest rumours about his casting in director SS Rajamouli's highly-awaited film with superstar Mahesh Babu. It was reported last year that Sukumaran was in talks to play the antagonist role. ## There have been rumours for the last few days that Sukumaran has been replaced by Bollywood star John Abraham due to scheduling issues, however, in the latest interview, the actor confirmed that the talks are still on for SSMB 29 though nothing has been finalized yet. ## Meanwhile, actress Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead role opposite Mahesh Babu in this epic jungle adventure film. The look test for the actress happened recently in Hyderabad while the regular shoot is expected to commence soon. ## Apart from SSMB29, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also part of director Prashanth Neel's action drama Salaar. The first part of the movie was released in 2023 and the makers have confirmed that Salaar 2 will be released in 2026.## Salaar 2 was supposed to be Neel's immediate next after the first part but according to Sukumaran, the shoot for the film will commence after Neel's highly-awaited movie, Dragon with Superstar Jr. NTR. Rumours are that the Dragon shoot has commenced silently and is likely to be released early next year. ## Sukumaran, on the other hand, has begun promotion for his hugely-awaited Malayalam directorial, Lucifer 2: Empuraan, fronted by superstar Mohanlal. Ranveer Singh was confirmed to carry the baton forward as the next Don, replacing superstar Shah Rukh Khan who reportedly denied taking on the role due to some reasons. ## The casting of Ranveer Singh came as a surprise to many but the makers seemed confident about it. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, Farhan Akhtar has locked actor Vikrant Massey to play the antagonist role, which was unexpected. ## The report didn't reveal much about the casting except that Massey would be playing the role of a villain against Don who is himself an anti-hero. Chennai, January 28 - The possible last chapter of Thalapathy Vijay's film career, Jana Nayagan has been garnering a lot of interest in the trade, something which has been the familiar case since the second half of his career. ## Despite the uncertainty of the film's release date and mixed reception to the first-look posters, the theatrical business of the movie is showing no sign of fatigue. According to Venky Box Office, Jana Nayagan's overseas theatrical deal has been locked at a record price. ## It is said that overseas rights of the movie have been acquired on a refundable advance basis for a record-breaking price of 75 crores. This is said to be the all-time biggest deal for a Tamil title, beating the previous record of Leo (60+ crores) which also starred Vijay. ## Jana Nayagan is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. It is possibly to be Vijay's final film before his political entry and the studio's first Tamil production. Hyderabad, January 28 - After the historic box office success, superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule is gearing up for its streaming debut. The movie, directed by Sukumar, the mega-blockbuster will stream on Netflix. ## On Monday, Netflix announced that Pushpa 2 - The Rule would stream in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada languages with the reloaded version of 23 minutes of extra footage which was released in theatres on January 17. It will start streaming on January 30. ## Meanwhile, the streaming giant hasn't confirmed the Hindi version release with the South Indian languages and the reason for the same is not known yet. Mumbai, January 28 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand created history with their maiden collaboration in spy action thriller Pathaan. The film went on to gross over 1000 crores worldwide and is one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever. ## The duo is now set to reunite for King Khan's next blockbuster titled King. The movie was supposed to be directed by Kahaani fame Sujoy Ghosh but eventually decided to drop the plan to hand directorial duty to Anand and the development has officially been confirmed by SRK himself. ## Shah Rukh Khan recently attended an event in Abu Dhabi where he spoke about his upcoming movie, King. Prasanna, the comedy-drama is one of the highly-anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and a potential big comeback for the actor after the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in production since early 2024 and was supposed to be released during Christmas 2024 weekend before makers postponed it to early 2025, but not anymore. Recently, producer Ashwini Dutt revealed the shooting plans of the movie, and now, director Nag Ashwin provides a crucial update on the same. ## In a recent interview, director Nag Ashwin revealed that the script work on Kalki 2 has been completed and the makers are waiting for the bulk dates of Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, who played the main roles in the film, to start shooting which is expected to commence in mid of this year. ## The blockbuster director also said that they are planning to release Kalki 2 towards the end of 2026 in cinemas worldwide, depending on the progress of the filming. Mumbai, January 25 - Telugu veteran Venkatesh Daggubati's action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam has entered the 200 crores gross club at the worldwide box office, becoming the first film for the actor to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the Sankranthi blockbuster hit the double century on its 12th day which is one of the fastest non-Pan India Telugu titles to do so. The movie is having a super strong second weekend domestically and through Saturday, it has stormed past the box office milestone. ## In India, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has grossed approximately 172+ crores while overseas business is around 31 crores for the worldwide cume total of 203+ crores in 12 days. When asked about the film, the filmmaker said that it will happen for sure as the script is finally ready, but the budget is a major concern. ## Rakesh Roshan revealed that the movie's scale is huge which requires a massive budget. The Karan Arjun director doesn't want to compromise with the scale of the movie as he said that if he cut the budget, it would massively the storyline, something he doesn't want to do. He said that he would start Krrish 4 only after he gets the required budget and scale right. ## There have been rumours that Krrish 4 will bring back the character of Jaado and when asked about the same, Rakesh Roshan refused to reveal anything about the plot as of now.
