Mumbai, January 3 - Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani makes a blockbuster return to the big screen after more than 11 years since its original release back in 2013. ## The year 2024 saw a few Bollywood films testing successes at the box office in their re-release run and continuing that momentum, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions re-release YJHD on January 3 and to no surprise, the film opened to packed boards all across. ## On its first day of re-opening, the cult classic minted approximately 1.20 crores net collection with more than 65K tickets sold. This is one of the biggest openings for a re-release Bollywood title and with good pre-sales, the movie is set to have a very good weekend total. ## In its original run, YJHD minted approximately 188.50 crores net collection and now, it has a chance to enter the 200 crores club after re-issue. Mumbai, January 3 - There is no stopping Pushpa 2 - The Rule which continues to script new records with each passing day. It has become the highest-grossing film ever at the Indian box office after surpassing Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion in 29 days. ## The Allu Arjun-fronted blockbuster has crossed 6 crores (60 million) footfalls in India in 29 days, becoming the first film since Baahubali 2 (2017) to achieve the feat. BB2 had sold over 100 million tickets in India and is among the very few films to do so. ## Pushpa 2 - The Rule is among the top 10 most-watched films in India. Iconic Sholay (1975) continues to remain the number 1 film with well over 12 crore tickets sold.## On the online ticketing platform Book My Show, Pushpa 2 has sold 20+ million tickets so far and this is the first time when a movie to done this in the platform's history. Hyderabad, January 2 - Pushpa 2 has now officially become the highest-grossing film ever at the Indian box office, beating SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion. The Allu Arjun-starrer had already crossed BB2 in terms of net collection in 16 days. ## Starring Prabhas, Baahubali 2 grossed approximately 1417 crores (1030 crores net) in India back in 2017. This record remained unbeatable for more than 7 years and at once, looked like would remain untouched for some more time but Pushpa 2 had other ideas. ## The action drama film has topped BB2 on its 29th day, becoming the biggest blockbuster in India. Apart from these two films, Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 has also grossed 1000 crores in India, however, Pushpa 2 and BB2 are the only films to earn 1K crore in terms of net collection. ## At the worldwide box office, the Sukumar's directorial venture is marching towards 1700 crores gross, having earned around 1685 crores in 29 days. Mumbai, January 2 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has achieved a crazy milestone as it has become only the third movie ever to cross 1000 crore gross collection at the worldwide box office in Hindi after superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan. ## The Hindi version of this mega-blockbuster has grossed approximately 925 crores at the domestic box office and over 115 crores overseas for around 1040 crores gross globally. The movie is heading towards finishing its total run with over 1100 crores gross worldwide which will make it the biggest Hindi grosser ever. ## Overall, Pushpa 2 has minted an estimated 1675+ crores worldwide, including around 1410 crores gross in India and 266+ crores at the overseas box office in all versions. SSMB 29 To Be A Two-Part Epic Adventure, To Be Made On 1000 Crore Budget

Hyderabad, January 1 - The wait for maverick director SS Rajamouli's next film with superstar Mahesh Babu is finally coming to an end with the movie officially getting launched on January 2 in a private ceremony in Hyderabad in the presence of a few people. ## It was recently revealed that India's global icon Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead role opposite Mahesh Babu while Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran is the lead antagonist. Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the yet-untitled epic jungle adventure will be made into two parts. ## The report states that SSMB29 will be made on a budget of 1000 crore, making it the most expensive Indian film. Both SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu won't be taking fees, instead, the duo has entered into a backend deal and has struck a 40% profit-sharing deal with the producers. ## The shoot of the film is expected to kick-start in April this year and the makers are planning to release the first part in 2027, followed by the second part in 2029. Mumbai, January 1 - The second season of smash hit Korean series, Squid Game is off to a record-breaking start as expected. The survival thriller's second instalment debuted with a massive 68 million views in the first 4 days globally. ## This is the biggest debut for any Netflix series in its premiere week, beating a record that Wednesday set with 50.10 million views in 2022. The show from creator/director Hwang Dong-hyuk and starring Lee Jung-jae ranked number 1 in 92 countries.## Since its release on December 26, 2024, Squid Game 2 has become Netflix's seventh most popular/viewed non-English TV show in record time. Squid Game Season 1 is currently at the top with 265.2 million views. Superstar Yash's 'Toxic' To Release In December 2025

Mumbai, December 21 - The Indian box office once again is set to be on fire in December 2025 as superstar Yash-fronted gangster action drama Toxic is more or less confirmed to hit the big screen during the month. There is James Cameron's Avatar 3 already slated to release. ## Toxic, directed by National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas, is currently on floors. It was originally announced for an April 2025 release but due to the delay in production, the film was pushed back. According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the makers are now aiming to release it in December while the exact date will be locked soon. ## Yash who has also produced the film with KVN Productions, is reportedly in talks with 20th Century Fox for overseas distribution. "The discussions are in very nascent stages but the intent is to make Toxic a global project. Yash strongly believes that the story-telling pattern and visuals of Toxic are right up there with international projects and is exploring the possibilities of partnering with a global giant for a massive release", reports Pinkvilla. ## Meanwhile, Yash also has a mega project Ramayana in the production stage. Los Angeles, December 31 - Superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule has ended the year 2024 by topping $15 million at the North American box office, becoming the 7th Indian and 4th South Indian title of all-time to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 joins the elite league of Baahubali 2, Kalki 2898 AD, Pathaan, RRR, Jawan, and Animal in the prestigious box office club. It is likely to beat Animal ($15.02 million) and Jawan ($15.23 million) at the end of its run to become the 5th biggest Indian grosser in NA. ## The action drama is the second biggest Indian grosser of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD and by far the biggest for Allu Arjun in NA. Overall, it is also currently the second-biggest Indian title with approximately 265 crores gross, behind Kalki which minted around 275 crores gross. ## Pushpa 2, meanwhile, is marching towards becoming the second biggest Indian-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, December 29 - The first teaser of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar was released on December 28, a day after the actor's birthday and it has generated one of the highest viewership for a Bollywood film teaser. ## Directed by AR Murugadoss, the teaser mostly received a positive reception which translated into huge viewership as it scored 41.6 million views on YouTube, becoming the second most-watched Bollywood teaser in the first 24 hours after Prabhas-fronted Adipurush which generated 69 million views. ## Sikandar is also the first teaser of a Salman Khan-starrer to score 30+ million views in the first day, beating Bharat which debuted with 21.5 million views. Kochi, December 29 - Malayalam cinema strikes again as A-rated action thriller Marco, touted as the most violent film in Indian cinema, has emerged as a big success and is heading towards 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office. ## Through the second Saturday (9th day), the film grossed approximately 63 crores, including 37.50 crores domestically and around 25+ crores at the overseas box office. With this, it has become the highest-grossing film of actor Unni Mukundan and director Haneef Adeni. ## The previous biggest solo grosser for Unni Mukundan was Malikappuram which grossed approximately 53 crores worldwide while Tamil blockbuster Garudan, which also starred Soori and M. Mumbai, December 29 - Disney's animated adventure Mufasa: The Lion King has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the third Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Deadpool & Wolverine. ## Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its second Saturday (9th day) as EOD gross is expected to be 108+ crores (including 3D charges). The movie has benefitted from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu languages.## The original English version of the film is the top contributor with around 39 crores gross, closely followed by Hindi with 37 crores gross while Telugu and Tamil have generated around 32 crores gross in 9 days.
