Mumbai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil action thriller Maharaja has topped 150 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, thanks to the fantastic run in China. This is the first movie of the actor in the lead role to top this milestone. ## Maharaja was released in China on November 29 and in the first week, the film grossed approximately 41 crores which pushed its total worldwide cume to around 147 crores gross. On its second Friday, Maharaja has grossed approximately 5.50 crores which took its total collection past the 150 crores mark. ## After the second Friday collection in China, Maharaja has surpassed Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (149 crores gross) to become the 5th highest-grossing Tamil movie and also the 5th 150 crores Tamil grosser of 2024 at the worldwide box office. Chennai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has completed its first week at the China box office with a superb collection of close to 41 crores gross, including premieres. It has already become the highest-grossing Tamil movie on the mainland. ## After grossing approximately 26.50 crores in the opening weekend (including premiers), Maharaja showed a stronghold on Monday by scoring 3 crore gross. The movie has shown an upward trend since Monday as the collection for the rest of the week was higher than the previous day (from Tuesday to Thursday). ## The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial minted $4.82 million (40.80 crores gross) in the full first week which is a fantastic total. Maharaja is the highest-grossing Indian movie in China since Thugs Of Hindostan in November 2018. Overall, the Tamil blockbuster is the 13 biggest Indian grosser there. ## Maharaja is expected to have a strong second weekend as word of mouth is super positive. Mumbai, December 3 - The pre-sales of Pushpa 2 - The Rule has surpassed 100 crores gross for the opening day at the worldwide box office with more than a day still left for the release. The action drama, starring superstar Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil is scheduled to be released on December 5. ## Directed by Sukumar, the film has amassed 30+ crores gross pre-sales at the overseas box office while domestic sales are 70+ crores gross (including the early premiers on December 4 night). This makes it the second Indian movie of 2024 to top 100 crores worldwide advance booking gross for the first day after Kalki 2898 AD. ## Pushpa 2 has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD in the domestic opening day pre-sales. Kalki had scored 62 crores gross which Allu Arjun-fronted achieved a day before as pure first-day sales of the film are around 66.50 crores gross (as of 8 PM on December 3). ## The film has already become Allu Arjun's biggest domestic and worldwide opener with pre-sales only. Hyderabad, December 3 - Superstar Allu Arjun's Pan India action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule is all set to storm the box office on December 5, and ahead of this much-awaited debut, the third film of the franchise has been confirmed with the title Pushpa - The Rampage. ## According to the reports, the climax of Pushpa 2 will lead to the third part and it is said that a small teaser has been attached to the same. The details of the third part have not been revealed yet and it may take some time to get on the floor. ## In the viral picture on social media, sound designer Resul Pookutty and the rest of the crew members standing in front of a screen with the third film's title. Resul Pookutty reportedly posted the picture before deleting it soon.## Interestingly, actor Vijay Devarkonda, who is not a part of the project (yet), hinted about Pushpa - The Rampage nearly 3 years ago in January 2022 when he wished director Sukumar on his birthday. The film grossed a tsunamic $225 million over 5-days, a Thanksgiving record and the biggest opening for an animated title. ## Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-led Wicked was the second-best movie during the same frame, which was its second weekend with a gigantic $119.5 million, helping its total domestic cume to reach $262 million in 10 days. Los Angeles, December 1 - Dinsey's animated musical adventure film Moana puts itself in the history book with the record-breaking opening at the domestic and worldwide box office over a 5-day Thanksgiving weekend. ## The Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson voiced blockbuster sequel has beaten Frozen 2 ($358 million) and The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($375.6 million) to score the biggest worldwide opening for an animated title after a massive $389.2 million over 5-day weekend. ## Moana 2 grossed a gigantic $225.2 million over the 5-day biggest Thanksgiving weekend of all time and the biggest opening of 2024 at the domestic (North America) box office. Overseas, the film scored a huge $164 million from 48 overseas markets. ## France was the biggest overseas market for Moana 2 with $18.8 million opening weekend, followed by the UK with $15.5 million, and Mexico at $11.1 million. Chennai, December 1 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has become the 15th highest-grossing Indian movie at the Chinese box office after a very good opening weekend which saw the film crossing the $3 million mark there. ## After scoring $2.30 million (19.50 crores gross) in the first 2 days (including premieres), Maharaja scored approximately 900K (7.50 crores gross) on Sunday, pushing the total collection to around $3.2 million (27 crores) in the opening weekend. ## With $3.2 million, Maharaja has become the 15th highest-grossing Indian movie in China (in terms of dollars) while in Indian currency, it has become the 13th biggest grosser there by beating Drishyam (27 crore gross), Kaabil (23.50 crores gross), and 102 Not Out (22.50 crores gross). ## Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja's next target is Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan which grossed approximately 60 crores in China. If it manages to hold well during the working day, the movie can get close to that target which will be a good result. ## The total worldwide collection of Maharaja is now around 133 crores gross and is heading towards the 150 crores mark. Mumbai, December 1 - After a dull couple of months post-Stree 2's mega success in August, the festival of Diwali brought good luck for the Bollywood film industry in November, thanks to the two of the most-waited films - Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. ## Rohit Shetty's directorial cop action drama Singham 3, starring Ajay Devgn, was the bigger film. However, it was Kartik Aaryan's horror comedy that rocked the show and won the clash with a superb collection in India and worldwide. SA though wasn't too far and did reasonably well at the box office.## Even after 4 weeks of release, both films doing well on a day-wise basis at the domestic box office, and thanks to that, their combined net collection has topped 500 crores making it the biggest Diwali ever at the Indian box office. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has emerged as a super hit and through the 5th Saturday (30th day), it has minted approximately 255+ crores net collection. On the other hand, Singham Again is an average-to-hit venture with around 245 crores net collection in the same number of days. ## As reported earlier, BB3 is the biggest grosser for Kartik Aaryan as well as for director Anees Bazmee and the rest of the main cast. Box Office Blockbuster 'Amaran' Sets Streaming Release Date

Chennai, November 30 - Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan has taken a giant step towards becoming the next big star in Tamil cinema with his latest war action drama film Amaran which has emerged as the biggest Tamil blockbuster of the year and one of the biggest in recent times. ## Released on October 31, the Rajkumar Periasamy's directorial has bossed the box office, grossing approximately 325 crores worldwide in 30 days so far. It is the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024 after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## Amaran has benefitted from the extended theatrical window which has been normalized to just 4 weeks by the industry. The blockbuster run of the film prompted the makers to extend the window by 1 more week and it will now arrive after 35 days which is the first for a recent Tamil title. ## On Saturday (November 30), Netflix announced that Amaran would start streaming from December 5, which is 35 days after the theatrical release.
