Hyderabad, July 21 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller Game Changer with director S. Shankar has finally locked its release date after being in production for nearly 3 years. It is the actor's first film since the epic blockbuster RRR in March 2022.## Producer Dil Raju, during the Telugu pre-release event of Dhanush's Raayan, delighted the fans by announcing the Game Changer will be hitting the big screen on Christmas 2024, however, the exact date is not yet revealed.## The Christmas 2024 weekend already has a couple of big movies in the lineup in the form of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Sitare Zameen Par and Hollywood biggie, Mufasa: The Lion King along with Varun Dhawan's Baby John and Nithiin's Robinhood. ## Game Changer has been in production since October 2021 but due to director Shankar's other commitments, the shoot of the movie was delayed on many occasions before it finally concluded in July this year. Hyderabad, July 21 - 7 years after scripting box office history with Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion, Pan India superstar Prabhas has done it again as his Kalki 2898 AD has become the 7th Indian movie and the second for the actor to enter the 1000 crores club at the worldwide box office. ## The sci-fi epic, directed by Nag Ashwin, has done what it was expected to achieve before its release on June 27. It took just 25 days for Kalki to breach the milestone of 1000 crores worldwide gross, making it the 3rd Telugu-origin title and 4th South Indian film to do so. ## Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated 990 crores gross globally in the first 24 days and on its 4th Sunday (25th day), the movie added another estimated 12 crores gross, taking its worldwide cume to over the magical figure of the thousand crores gross. ## Including the 5th Sunday collection, the epic blockbuster has minted an estimated 733 crores gross in India and 270 crores overseas. Mumbai, July 21 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the third highest-grossing South Indian movie at the Hindi box office after beating SS Rajamouli's action drama RRR on its 25th day. ## The Prabhas-fronted blockbuster scored approximately 4.85 crores net collection on its 4th Sunday which took its total cume to approximately 276 crores net in 25 days to become the third biggest South Indian movie in the dubbed version.## SS Rajamouli and Prabhas' Baahubali 2 remains the top South Indian grosser in Hindi with approximately 511 crores net, followed by Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 with 435 crores approx. Kalki 2898 AD is only the third South Indian movie to enter the 200 crores net club in Hindi.## Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki has had an excellent run in the dubbed Hindi version which is heading towards finishing around 300 crores. Los Angeles, July 20 - Universal Pictures' Twisters, starring Glen Powell, is set to overcome the industry projection to score the record opening for a natural disaster film at the domestic (North American) box office. ## The movie, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, scored an estimated $80.50 million (675 crores) in the opening weekend, the third biggest of the year. With this, it has become the top opening domestically for a natural disaster film, beating the 2004 movie The Day After Tomorrow's $66.70 million (not adjusted for inflation). ## Twisters was projected to take the domestic opening of around $50 million. It is a standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister which bowed to $41 million 3-day domestic opening weekend. The sequel has scored almost 2X the opening of its predecessor. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twisters is playing evenly among females and males, as well as appealing to both younger and older adults in what could lead to a new franchise. There are nearly a dozen films already lined up to release on August 15 and some of them are potential big-money spinners.## The Hindi box office can see one of the biggest weekends of the year starting on Independence Day. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is easily the most anticipated movie to release during the period, however, it won't have a smooth ride at the box office as there 5 other major films ready to compete with it. ## The biggest competitor of Stree 2 will be Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein, which also stars Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, and Pragya Jaiswal, among others. Mumbai, July 20 - The third season of Amazon Prime Video's rural comedy-drama Panchayat emerged as the most-watched Hindi show in the first half of 2024, beating big-budgeted shows like Heeramandi, and Indian Police Force.## According to Ormax Media, Panchyat Season 3 has generated 28.20 million views, becoming the most-watched Hindi language web series across streaming platforms in the first six months of 2024. The movie is directed by Anand Tiwari and co-produced by Leo Media Collective. ## The film's advance booking opened a couple of days ago and unlike its title, the booking trend has been good news for the industry and the makers in particular. In comparison to previous movies, the pre-sales of Bad Newz are much better than most of them and it even topped Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon's Crew after the superb jump in the last hours. ## Crew although opened to 9.25 crores net is still one of the biggest openers of the year and Bad Newz will look to come close to these numbers. Mumbai, July 18 - In a massive but pleasant surprise, Joe and Anthony Russo, famously known as the Russo brothers, are in talks to return to the MCU to helm the next two Avengers movies, according to the report by The Hollywood Reporter.## It is to be noted that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton was originally set to direct Avengers 5 but he backed out last year after the movie faced major hurdles due to the controversy surrounding actor Jonathan Majors who was to play the centre role as the main villain, Kang.## Marvel Studios has been searching for directors to oversee the fifth and sixth Avengers movies for a long time. The studio had earlier reportedly reached out to Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy for the fifth Avengers movie, but he had turned the offer down in the past. ## The talks with the Russo Brothers are in the early stages and if they agree, it will mark a homecoming for the director duo who once was the biggest IP of Marvel. They have directed four of Marvel's biggest movies, Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), followed by Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). ## The four Marvel movies directed by Russos generated a combined gross of $6.68+ billion, including Endgame ($2.79 billion) as the second highest-grossing movie ever at the worldwide box office behind only James Cameron's Avatar with $2.92 billion. ## Meanwhile, the fifth Avengers movie, scheduled to be released on 1 May 2026, was originally titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty and was to star Jonathan Majors as time-traveling villain Kang.
