Chennai, July 1 - As Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for the release of The Greatest of All Time, preparations are being made for his 69th film which will be his last movie before he fully centres his focus on his political career. ## There hasn't been made official yet about Thalapathy 69, but as per reliable reports, the movie will be directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is said to be the female lead and it will mark her reunion with Vijay after Kaththi (2014), Theri (2016), and Mersal (2017). ## The shoot of T69 will commence later this year before the 2025 release. The movie took just 4 days to enter the coveted box office club. ## The sensational blockbuster scored an estimated 39 crores net on Sunday which takes its total collection to over 111 in Hindi. In terms of days taken to reach 100 crores Hindi net, Kalki 2898 AD is the 26th fastest to do so. ## The list of the fastest films in 100 crores net club includes 5 movies in 2 days, 15 movies in 3 days, and 9 movies in 4 days. Los Angeles, July 1 - It's raining records for Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD which has scored the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie in North America as it entered in the top 10 highest-grossing Indian film there, according to trade analyst Luiz Fernando. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD scored an estimated $11.2 million (93.35 crores) in the 4-day opening weekend+Wednesday previews and is now the 8th biggest Indian title there after beating Salaar: Ceasefire's $8.90 million, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's $10.6 million, and PK's $10.60 million entire run there. ## Kalki 2898 AD will next surpass Padmaavat ($12.20 million) and Dangal ($12.40 million) in the next couple of days as the 6th highest-grossing Indian title in North America. Mumbai, June 30 - All hell loose as Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD hits the ball out of the park on its first Sunday as the movie is showing a jump of around 40% in the dubbed Hindi version which is phenomenal as Saturday was itself huge with approximately 26 crores net collection. ## The collection on Saturday was affected by the final of the T20 World Cup to some extent but Sunday made up for the lost ground. As said, Kalki 2898 stormed past the 100 crores net mark in the 4-day extended weekend after an estimated 38-40+ crores net (45-47+ crores gross) on its first Sunday for a total of around 110 crores net (~130 crores gross) in Hindi. ## The Hindi version collection is strong everywhere, be it in mass centres or multiplex and the trend is such that it will score well during the weekdays as there were some capacity issues at some places which are expected to come good in the coming days.## Apart from Hindi, the rest of the other versions were also firing all calendars on Sunday as the overall collection is flirting with 100 crores gross as estimates suggest 95-105 crores for all versions today and it could higher depending on South versions. If the Sunday estimates hold, the movie will touch 300+ crores net (355+ crores gross) in the 4-day opening weekend. ## The worldwide collection of the movie is, at least, 485+ crores gross in 4 days with a high possibility of crossing 500 crores when the actual overseas collection is made official tomorrow. Mumbai, June 30 - Disney's Pixar mega-blockbuster Inside Out 2 has become the fastest animated movie ever to cross $1 billion at the worldwide box office, taking just 19 days to reach the milestone where only 52 movies could reach before. ## The summer blockbuster added another $165+ million worldwide in the 3rd weekend, pushing global telly to $1.015 billion (8460 crores), including $469.3 million (3910 crores) in North America and $545.5 million (4550 crores) through Sunday (19 days). ## IO2 is the 11th animated movie of all time to achieve the feat of $1 billion globally. It is also the first movie since Margot Robbie's Barbie last year to hit the milestone. Among the 11 animated movies in the billion-dollar club, Disney has 8 movies. ## The blockbuster sequel has topped Disney's Frozen 2 which took 25 days to reach the $1 billion mark worldwide. Hyderabad, June 30 - Director Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD has topped 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office after the huge first Saturday despite the India and South Africa T20 World Cup final match which saw Men In Blue emerging winner in a thriller clash. ## The Prabhas-starrer movie, however, largely remained unaffected and grossed over 100 crores worldwide on its third day. On the ticketing platform Book My Show, Kalki sold 1.28 million tickets (12.80 lahks) on day 3, a jump of around 15% on the second-day ticket count of 1.12 million on the platform. ## The movie grossed an estimated 77+ crores in India on its third day, which pushed the domestic total to around 260 crores. Mumbai, June 29 - Disney's Pixar movie Inside Out 2 is racing towards $1 billion at the worldwide box office, and in this process, it has topped the full run of the first movie which grossed $859 million and the sequel crossed this in just 16 days. ## The coming-of-age animated blockbuster grossed $863 million (7200 crores) through Thursday (June 27) and it topped $900 million by Friday (official data awaited). It has entered the all-time domestic (North America) animated Top 10 chart with $411.8 million (3435 crores) at the 9th spot.## Overseas, IO2 has grossed $451.3 million (3765 crores) from 45 markets through Thursday. The blockbuster will reach the $1 billion mark by Sunday to become the first film of 2024 and just the 12th animated movie of all time to achieve the feat. ## The Top 10 overseas markets through Thursday (June 27) are as follows - Mexico ($71.1M), the UK ($32.9M), Korea ($32.2M), Brazil ($28M), Italy ($26.3M), Germany ($20.1M), Spain ($20M), Argentina ($17M), France ($17M) and China ($15.2M). Los Angeles, June 29 - Warner Bros. Pictures has set a holiday release for the Dune director, Denis Villeneuve's next feature, described as an "event film". The studio announced that it will hit screens on December 18, 2026, and be produced by Legendary Pictures.## Villeneuve last directed, Dune: Part 2 which was a mega hit. The details about the filmmaker's next have not been revealed yet but it was recently reported that that he was working on a nuclear war and that Dune 3 would not be his immediate next. ## Even though the filmmaker stated that he would not touch Dune anytime soon, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Villeneuve may have had a change of heart and could be turning his attention back to finishing this sci-fi adventure franchise, before taking up the nuclear war movie. ## Dune 2, released in March this year, was a mega box office hit with $711 million worldwide against a budget of $190 million. It is currently the second highest-grossing movie of 2024 worldwide, behind Inside Out 2. The first Dune movie was released during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 and grossed $407 million globally while simultaneously having a day and date release on streaming. ## Warner Bros. Pictures has also announced the release date of the Legendary's next MonsterVerse film. Mumbai, June 28 - Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD heading for 90+ crores 4-day opening weekend in Hindi with an outside chance of touching 100 crores net after the perfect hold on its second day. The movie scored approximately 22.50 crores net its Thursday opening day. ## Kalki is witnessing a drop under 10% on its second day, Friday, for an estimated 21-22+ crores net which might be on the higher end, depending on hold in mass centres. The total collection of Hindi versions is 43.50+ crores net and with big Saturday and Sunday coming, it should clear 90 crores weekend. ## The growth on Saturday might not be a regular one for a well-received film due to the World Cup final between India and South Africa but it can be made up with bigger growth on Sunday.
