Rana Daggubati To Produce and Headline An Epic Film Titled 'Hiranyakashyap', To Be Directed by Trivikram

Hyderabad, July 19 - Baabubali star Rana Daggubati is all set to produce a magnum opus movie on Hiranyakashyap, an asura king of the daityas in the Puranic scriptures of Hinduism. The actor-filmmaker will unveil multiple projects under his Spirit Media company at San Diego Comic-Con event. ## According to Variety, the movie project "Hiranyakashyap" is being developed by Spirit Media and is set to be directed by Trivikram. The picture is inspired by Amar Chitra Katha's comics of the mythological figure, the powerful demon Hiranyakashyap, and his plan to achieve vengeance by destroying Lord Indira's kingdom.## Some of the details about the "Hiranyakashyap" movie are expected to be revealed at the Comic-Con. Rana Daggubati will play the titular role while Trivikram is writing the script and will also be directing it.## Meanwhile, Rana's Spirit Media has teamed up with streamer SonyLIV on the historical epic action-drama "Lords of the Deccan". Based on the novel of the same title, the show takes audiences back in time to witness the birth of the Chalukyas, a dynasty that shaped southern India for centuries.## Apart from the aforementioned two projects, the Malayalam superhero Minnal Murali, played by Tovino Thomas, is set to be launched as a comic book character, which will find its home in the popular Indian comic magazine Tinkle. 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' Advance Booking Status and Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, July 19 - Hollywood films have done well at the Indian box office this year and the momentum continued with Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. It was released on July 12 and is doing very good business, grossing over 85 crores so far. ## The month of July is particularly going to be a major period for Hollywood titles as next in the month are Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig's fantasy comedy film Barbie. Scheduled to release on July 21, both Oppenheimer and Barbie are set to spring a big surprise at the Indian box office. ## Oppenheimer is particularly having an excellent response in the advanced sales in India as far as the national multiplex chains are concerned. It has sold approx. 200K tickets in three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) for the opening day which is among the top advances post the covid-19 pandemic. ## The IMAX format of the movie is almost witnessing a near-sold-out opening day while the English 2D format is also having a very good response. With these sorts of pre-sales, the opening of 20 crores would have been a sure shot given but the movie is expected to have low spot booking. However, it will still be eyeing a 15-17 crores start which will be termed very good. ## Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures' Barbie starring Margot Robbie in the title role and Ryan Gosling as Ken, also has good pre-booking despite the competition as it has sold approx. 80K tickets for the opening day in three national chains. The advance sales of the film got momentum over the last 48 hours. ## Barbie is expected to score around 6-7 crores which will be a good opening. Had it been a solo Hollywood release, an opening of 10+ crores net was given with these sorts of advances, but due to the competition, the Hollywood audiences will be divided with most of them likely to prefer Oppenheimer. Also, there will be Mission Impossible 7 which is also likely to retain a decent amount of screens. ## The combined opening of both films should be around 20-23 crores net in India and if they receive positive talks, the opening weekend could well be around 75-90 crores net. Meanwhile, in the domestic (North America), Barbenheimer is projected to score $150+ million opening weekend ($110+ M for Barbie, and $50 M for Oppenheimer).## Stay tuned...

However, this time, the focus shifts to real-life victims as their personal accounts will be detailed in the docu-series which will premiere on ZEE5. ## On Wednesday (July 19), Agnihotri shared the trailer which also includes scenes from The Kashmir Files. The docu-series aims to shed light on the untold stories and experiences of the Kashmiri Hindu community during the tumultuous time when they were forced to leave Kashmir valley in the 90s by radicals.## Sharing the trailer, the filmmaker wrote, "A lot of Genocide Deniers, terror supporters & enemies of Bharat questioned The Kashmir Files. Tokyo, July 19 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's period action drama film "Rangasthalam" was released in Japan on July 14 and did decent business in the opening weekend on the limited screens. ## Directed by Sukumar, the all-time blockbuster movie reportedly grossed ¥10.1 million or approx. 60 lacs on its 3-day opening weekend with approx. 7200 admissions. The opening weekend collection of the movie failed to beat the opening day numbers of Ram Charan and Jr. NTR's "RRR" which grossed ¥18 million in October last year.## "Rangasthalam" was released around 70 screens in Japan and grossed 2.5 million yen on its opening day. It is expected to have a good run as the word of mouth among the Japanese audiences is super positive.## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Rangasthalam" was an industry hit during its release in 2018 in Telugu. It grossed over 200 crores at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing film in Ram Charan as well as Samantha's career. ## Meanwhile, the all-time blockbuster period action drama Kannada movies, "KGF 1" and "KGF 2", starring superstar Yash were also released in Japan on July 14 and they combined grossed ¥11 million or 65 lacs in the opening weekend with approx. 7840 admissions.## The original KGF movie grossed ¥5.8 million (35 lacs) with 4120 admissions while its sequel earned ¥5.2 million (30 lacs) with 3720 admissions. The word of mouth is decent for both the films and it will be interesting to see how they perform going forward.## Directed by Prashanth Neel, the two KGF films grossed approx. 1450 crores at the worldwide box office in their first runs. Mumbai, July 18 - Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One has a decent first Tuesday at the Indian box office with the collection dropping around 10-15% from Monday which is a good hold. ## The 7th installment in the Mission Impossible franchise scored an estimated 4.25-4.50 crores net today/first Tuesday which takes the total collection to around 73 crores net in the first 7 days. The extended 9-day first week is looking in the range of 80 crores net. ## MI7 is set to emerge as the 4th Hollywood hit in India this year after Fast X, John Wick 4, and Evil Dead Rise and is likely to top 100 crores net to become the second Hollywood film to do so this year after Fast X. ## The Tom Cruise-starrer movie will see competition this weekend from its fellow Hollywood movies, Oppenheimer and Barbie. The Christopher Nolan's directorial Oppenheimer will make a bigger impact on MI7. Los Angeles, July 18 - The Hollywood trade is buzzing for the epic clash between two of the most-awaited movies, Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" which are scheduled to take on each other on July 21. ## The stakes are high for both the aforementioned films and the anticipation is skyrocketing as the release date is getting nearer. Both the movies, completely opposite to each other, are expected to be box office heavyweights and the latest projections indicate the same. ## There has been a significant improvement in "Barbie" as well as "Oppenheimer's" box office projections after the recently concluded premieres where both the movies received rousing receptions from critics. As per the latest projections, the Margot Robbie-starrer "Barbie" is tracking to score $110 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend. ## "Barbie" was previously projected to score between $70 million and $80 million in the opening weekend, but now, the trade is anticipating it to go much higher. "Oppenheimer", on the other hand, also sees some improvement and is now projected to score $50 million domestic opening weekend from $40 million earlier projections. ## Both "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" are now projected to score $150+ million combined opening weekend domestically. "Oppenheimer" would be one of the lowest openings for Nolan's film ever if it opens on the projected lines. However, it was expected considering the busy summer box office, but at the same time, trade believes that the movie could have long legs at the box office to emerge as one of the biggest hits of the year. ## "Barbie" stars Margot Robbie in the titular role and Ryan Gosling as Ken alongside an ensemble supporting cast that includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. The official premise of the movie states, "After being expelled from the utopian Barbie Land for being a less-than-perfect doll, Barbie and Ken go on a journey of self-discovery to the real world".## "Oppenheimer", which is Nolan's first film not to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures domestically or internationally since "Memento" (2000), is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons. Los Angeles, July 18 - Blockbuster filmmaker Christopher Nolan's upcoming atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" was shot in less than two months, revealed actor Cillian Murphy who plays the title role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who was pivotal in developing the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project and thereby ushering in the Atomic Age. ## "Oppenheimer" will reportedly be run for nearly three hours and it consists of unbelievably zero CGI shots, as confirmed by Nolan himself recently. Meanwhile, Cillian Murphy said during an interview on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast (via Variety), that the movie was filmed in just 57 days.## "We made the movie unbelievably quickly. We made it in 57 days. The pace of that was insane", the actor revealed. In comparison to Nolan's previous movies, the World War II survival thriller "Dunkirk" was shot in 68 days, and his massive spy movie "Tenet" was shot in 96 days. ## "The sets are huge, but it feels like being on an independent movie. There's just Chris and the cameraman — one camera always unless there's some huge, huge set piece — and the boom op and that's it. There's no video village, there's no monitors, nothing. He's a very analog filmmaker", Murphy added.## "Oppenheimer" is Christopher Nolan's longest film yet. Chennai, July 18 - Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to back in the action with director Nelson Dilipkumar's action thriller film "Jailer" which is scheduled to release on August 10, 2023. The much-awaited movie is produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures who also produced Rajinikanth's last film "Annaatthe" (2021) as well. ## The makers have been tight-lipped regarding the details of "Jailer", however, the official synopsis and runtime of the movie have reportedly been revealed online. It has been revealed that the movie's runtime is 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) and it is likely to get the U/A certificate from CBFC.## As per the rumored official synopsis, Rajinikanth is playing the role of a Jailer who stops a gang trying to rescue their leader from jail. "A Gang tries to Rescue their leader from the prison, where others are stuck at a problem, the Jailer of the prison shows off to stop them all", the synopsis read.## "Jailer" was officially announced in February 2022 with the working title Thalaivar 169, being the 169th film of Rajinikanth, while the official title Jailer was announced in June. Directed by James Gunn, the movie was originally released on May 5 this year and grossed close to $850 million at the worldwide box office.## It has been more than two months since the movie is in cinemas though its run at the box office is almost over. Now, Disney has provided an update regarding the film's digital premiere and the MCU fans will not have to wait much longer for the same. ## The streamer has confirmed that GoTG3 will start streaming on Disney+ on August 2, 2023, almost three months after its theatrical release. In India, the movie is expected to be available on the same date on Disney+Hotstar in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.## Earlier, Disney used to stream Marvel movies on Disney+ less than 8 weeks after the theatrical release.
