Mumbai, July 17 - After the fantastic 5-day opening weekend, "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" witnesses a drop of around 70% on its first Monday. The drop was expected as it was frontloaded Hollywood tentpole but a drop of around 50% would have been a nice hold. ## As per the early estimates, "Mission Impossible 7" has scored around 4.75-5.25 crores net today, which takes the total collection to around 68.50 crores in 6 days. The overall collection of the movie so far is strong but it would like to hold on to a similar level as Monday for the next few days. ## The extended first-week collection of the film is likely to be around 80 crores net which will give it a shot to cross the lifetime collection of "MI6" to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise as well as Tom Cruise-starrer in India. ## "MI7" will see some competition from its fellow Hollywood titles "Oppenheimer" and "Barbie" in the coming weekend. Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" is expected to make some impact on "MI7" as the premium screens will get divided. Chennai, July 17 - The incredible rise of Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan continues as his latest Tamil political superhero film Maaveeran is set to emerge as a huge blockbuster for the actor. Directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin, Maaveeran concludes its opening weekend with around 43 crores gross worldwide. ## Made with a budget of around 35 crores, Maaveeran took a fantastic opening of over 9.50 crores gross, before registering a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to bring in 11 crores and over 12 crores gross, respectively to score the domestic opening weekend of 32.60 crores. ## The movie had a fantastic weekend in Tamil Nadu with a gross collection of over 25 crores while it also did well in Karnataka, AP/TG, and the rest of India. Mumbai, July 16 - Hollywood blockbuster "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" starring superstar Tom Cruise scored an excellent 5-day opening weekend at the Indian box office, setting a new record in Mission Impossible franchise as well as for a Tom Cruise-starrer. ## The 7th installment in the action thriller franchise scores its biggest day as far today in India with a decent jump of around 10% over the first Saturday collection. The movie scores an estimated 16.50-17.50 crores net collection on its first Sunday which takes the total 5-day opening weekend collection to around 63 crores in all versions. ## "Mission Impossible 7" will easily cross the 6th installment's final collection of around 80 crores net in its first week itself to become the biggest-grossing movie in the franchise as well as Tom Cruise's career in India. It has already become the second highest-grossing movie of the actor in India. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, MI7 is set to enter the 100 crores net club in India. Los Angeles, July 16 - Tom Cruise muscles his star power as his latest summer blockbuster "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part One" scores a huge opening weekend of $234.10 million at the global box office, the biggest global debut for the franchise. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the 7th installment in the Mission Impossible series hits the franchise's best 5-day record with a $78.5 million launch, including $55 million between Friday and Sunday. The movie was, however, projected to reach $90 million over the 5-day weekend.## The Friday to Sunday opening of $55 million of "MI7" landed behind 2018's "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" ($61 million) and 2000's "Mission: Impossible II" ($57.8 million). Trade believes that a traditional Friday release of the latest blockbuster would have easily hit $75+ million over the Fri-Sun weekend, however, the 5-day opening is still reasonable as the movie has enough power to have a long run. ## Overseas, Tom Cruise scored his biggest opening ever with $155.60 million on a 5-day opening weekend over 70 markets. The previous best for the actor was "Top Gun: Maverick" which grossed $126 million overseas opening weekend before the movie finished its run at around $1.5 billion globally. ## China was the number one overseas market of MI7 with a $25.4 million opening weekend, followed by Korea with $14.3 million, the UK with $13.8 million, India with a huge $9 million, and Australia with $8.3 million start. ## MI7 will have a stiff competition going forward as Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" and Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" are opening on July 21. It was the first major summer Hollywood tentpole in India and the audience welcomed it with open arms. ## "Mission Impossible 7" is having a very good response in the IMAX format as the IMAX collection of the movie is over 5 crores gross in the first 4 days. Mumbai, July 15 - The box office record of all-time blockbuster "Sairat" might be in danger as the latest Marathi sensation "Baipan Bhari Deva" is taking giant steps at the box office. ## "Baipan Bhari Deva" has become the 3rd highest-grossing Marathi movie of all time, and crossed the 50 crores gross mark on its 16th day. On its 17th day, the comedy-drama movie grossed an estimated 7 crores, which takes the total collection to over 60 crores (51 crores net).## The third-weekend collection of "Baipan Bhaari Deva" is looking to be on par with the second-weekend collection. By the next weekend, it will cross Riteish Deshmukh's "Ved" (73 crores gross) to become the second biggest Marathi movie of all time. ## It is quite historic that the second-week collection (29.60 crores gross) of BBD scored a growth of over 100% over the first-week collection (14.70 crores gross).
