Marvel Releases Official Synopsis For Brie Larson-Fronted 'The Marvels'

Los Angeles, April 12 - The first trailer of Marvel Studios' highly anticipated The Marvels was launched Tuesday (April 11). The all-female-led superhero sequel to the blockbuster "Captain Marvel" will see uniting Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and also Carol Danvers' number 1 fan Kamala Khan on a cosmic adventure. ## Soon after the trailer was released online, Marvel unveiled the official synopsis of "The Marvels". It also confirmed the important connection to the MCU's first project from the Multiverse Saga in, WandaVision. The core plot revealed that Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau has now been promoted to astronaut following her Hex-focused mission with SWORD in WandaVision.## The synopsis reads, "In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels".## Directed by Nia DaCosta, the film stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Mumbai, April 12 - In 2021, URI director Aditya Dhar announced his passion project The Immortal Ashwatthama, based on the character of Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, from Mahabharata. Vicky Kaushal was roped in to play this lead role while Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Movies was to produce this big-budget epic. ## The film was supposed to start in 2021, but due to budget issues, it was put on hold indefinitely. The film has undergone numerous casting and budgetary changes over the past two years as both Vicky Kaushal and Ronnie Screwvala backed out from the project.## Now, after almost two years, the mammoth project seems to be back on track with a different cast. According to Peepingmoon.com, Aditya Dhar has approached Ranveer Singh to play the role of Ashwatthama and the talks are in the advanced stage. ## "Aditya Dhar and Ranveer have been discussing this project for months, and talks are now in an advanced stage. It's a big theatrical project about a larger-than-life character, and Ranveer doesn't want to pass up the opportunity to play such a legendary role. He has given his nod and is expected to sign on the dotted line as soon as all the formalities are completed", a source close to the development told Peepingmoon.com.## The website also revealed that Jio Studios has come on board to produce and has sanctioned a humongous budget for this sci-fi superhero film. Dhar has been working on the script and pre-production for months and will kick off shooting around October this year. ## Ranveer will undergo a major physical transformation and will be trained in various forms of martial arts, sword fighting, and archery techniques to get into the skin of the character. Mumbai, April 12 - Ajay Devgn-directed and fronted action drama Bholaa has crossed the 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the second film of Ajay in a row after Drishyam 2 to reach the milestone. ## An adaptation of the Tamil hit Kaithi, Bholaa reached the 100 crores mark on its 13th day and is continuing with a decent run at the domestic as well as overseas box office despite the mixed reviews and not being a multiplex-friendly flick. ## In India, it has grossed approx. 90 crores (75+ crore net) through 2nd Tuesday. By 3rd Friday, Bholaa will become the highest-grossing Hindi remake (when the original version is available in Hindi) post the covid-19 pandemic, after crossing Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's Vikram Vedha's 78.9 crores net. ## At the overseas box office, Bholaa has collected approx. 13 crores, pushing the total worldwide cume to approx. 103 crores so far. Hyderabad, April 11 - Telugu producer Dil Raju is reportedly planning a big-budget mythology trilogy with some of the biggest stars of Indian cinema and he has confirmed one with Prabhas in the lead under the direction of Prashanth Neel. ## It was recently reported that Prabhas and Prashanth Neel would be reuniting for a mythological epic, titled Ravanam. Confirming the same, Dil Raju revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla that Neel has already locked the script with Prabhas headlining it. ## "Prashanth Neel has finalized a script and we are planning it with Prabhas. The two are already working together on Salaar. After Salaar, Prashanth has a commitment with NTR, so maybe post the NTR film, Prashanth will commence work on this project. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, "War 2" will mark Jr. NTR's much-awaited debut in Bollywood. ## Apart from his Bollywood debut, the "RRR" star was also in news recently regarding his rumored collaboration with Tamil director Vetrimaaran. It was reported that the maverick filmmaker was in talks with Jr. NTR for a two-hero film but nothing was confirmed then. ## Now, putting rumors to rest, the filmmaker has himself confirmed that he is indeed in talks with the superstar. Vetrimaaran is busy promoting the Telugu version of his recently released crime action thriller "Viduthalai Part 1" and during the media interaction in Hyderabad, he opened up about the recent rumors. ## Vatrimaaran revealed that he met Jr. NTR during the post-lockdown period to discuss a project and the talks are ongoing in the right direction. Directed by Bhaskar, Orange was a disaster in its original run, however, it later gained a cult status and has been people's favorite. ## It was recently re-released on limited screens on the occasion of Ram Charan's birthday, and thanks to the immense popularity it gained over the years, Orange did really well as it grossed approx. 3.50 crores. In Telugu states, it grossed approx. 3.15 crores and turned successful. ## Orange re-release took the opening of approx. 1.40 crores worldwide and remains steady over the week to post good numbers for an occasional release. The first film "Rowdy Rathore" (2012) was headlined by superstar Akshay Kumar, however, as per the latest reports, the sequel will go through major casting changes. ## According to Pinkvilla, the makers are in talks with Sidharth Malhotra to play the fierce cop in the sequel and he is said to be interested in doing the film. Movie exceeded all the expectations and shattered records at the domestic as well as the overseas box office. ## The Illumination, Universal Pictures, and Nintendo's animated adventure opened to a joe-dropping $375.60 million over the 5-day Easter weekend at the global box office, including $204.6 million domestically (North America) and $170.9 million overseas.
