Irrfan Khan's Last Film 'The Song of the Scorpions' Sets A Release Date

Mumbai, April 19 - Late Indian actor Irrfan Khan's last feature film, The Song of the Scorpions, a Swiss-French-Singaporean Rajasthani language drama film is all set to hit big screens on April 28, 2023. ## Directed by Anup Singh, the film is due for theatrical release for a long time. It had its world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland on August 9, 2017. The film revolves around the story of a camel trader who falls in love with a tribal woman named Nooran. ## According to an ancient myth, the sting of a scorpion in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan can cause death in less than 24 hours and the only cure is the song sung by a scorpion singer which counters the poison of the scorpion. Nooran is an independent woman who learns the ancient healing art of scorpion singing from her grandmother. ## "The Song of the Scorpions" is produced by Feather Light Films and KNM Production and is presented by Panorama Spotlight and 70mm Talkies. Mumbai, April 19 - IMDb has revealed the list of the top 10 most anticipated Indian films releasing this summer and Bollywood rules this list singlehandedly. ## Some of the films in the list have been ruling the roost ever since they were announced and at the top of the list is superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. After delivering the mega-blockbuster in the form of Pathaan, King Khan is preparing for another potential blockbuster with director Atlee's film. ## Jawan is a true blue Pan India flick with the star cast on board across different industries. The maiden collaboration between SRK and Atlee is the mass entertainer everyone looking forward to watching on the big screen where it is scheduled to be released on June 2 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.## The second most anticipated film of Summer 2023 is Ranbir Kapoor's gangster crime drama Animal with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Arguably the most hyped movie of Ranbir ever, "Animal" might turn out the biggest blockbuster for the actor with the kind of craze it is having among the fans and general audiences. It is due to be released on August 11 in multiple languages.## The third in the list is director Om Raut's magnum opus Adipurush featuring Prabhas as Lord Ram. It is slated for May 12 release ## Ajay Devgn-fronted sports biopic Maidaan is the 6th most anticipated film. Mumbai, April 18 - Superstar Salman Khan's long-awaited family action drama film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is getting ready to release on April 21. Directed by Farhad Samji, KKBKKJ carries a lot of expectations and a litmus test for Salman's stardom. ## Meanwhile, the full-fledged advance booking for the movie was opened yesterday, and the initial response is positive. The pre-sales haven't been great for most of the Bollywood movies post the covid-19 pandemic, but here, KKBKKJ is portraying a different story. ## It has been only 24 hours since the advances were opened, and the pre-booking is already nearing 1 crore gross with around 35K tickets sold for the opening day. In the three national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis), it has sold around 15K tickets so far. ## The good news for the movie is that it is showing a better advance booking trend in non-multiplex chains which has always been a strong zone for Salman. With two days left, during which the advances peak, the movie is well on track to fetch decent to good pre-sales and among the best this year. ## As far as the opening day box office is concerned, it could be around 18 crores which will be a good result considering the pre-Eid release. Salman's last full-fledged theatrical release, "Dabangg 3" opened at 23 crores net in the pre-covid era. ## KKBKKJ is produced by Salman Khan Films and Zee Studios. Official Runtime For Prabhas-Fronted 'Adipurush' Reportedly Revealed

Mumbai, April 18 - Prabhas-fronted epic Adipurush is one of the most anticipated Indian films and ahead of its wide release in June this year, the film receives a major boost with the announcement of its World Premiere at Tribeca Festival in New York. ## Based on the epic Ramayana, "Adipurush" will be screened at the prestigious festival on June 13. Meanwhile, the official website of the Tribeca Festival has reported a runtime of 174 minutes (2 hours and 54 minutes), making it one of the longest Bollywood movies ever. ## The movie is directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series, Retrophiles, and UV Creations. It features Prabhas as Lord Ram along with Kriti Sanon as Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, among others. ## Excited about the premiere, Om Raut said, "Adipurush is not a film, it is an emotion, a sentiment! The talkie portions had already completed for this Atlee Kumar's directorial with only two songs left which have now been completed.## According to Peepingmoon.com, "Shah Rukh Khan finally completes shooting for Jawan today. Although the talkie portions were already finished on April 5, they still had two songs left. SRK shot a romantic track with Nayanthara and then filmed a mass dance song with Deepika Padukone. Today is the last day for the SRK and Deepika song, and then it will officially be concluded". ## The filming of Jawan commenced in September 2021 and since then, the team has shot in different locations in Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Mumbai. The movie features SRK in a duel role along with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and Yogi Babu while Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone play cameo roles. ## There have been rumors that the movie will be postponed, however, the report has confirmed that the makers are very much on track to release it on June 2. It will be directed by debutante Shazia Iqbal, who has been working as a Production Designer for thirteen years in the Indian Film & Advertising Industry. ## Directed by Shashank Khaitan, "Dhadak", which was a remake of the Marathi movie "Sairat", was released in 2018 and marked the debut of Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor. The film did very well at the box office, grossing over 100 crores worldwide against a budget of approx. 30 crores. ## According to Pinkvilla, Karan Johar wants to turn "Dhadak" into a proper intense romantic franchise in which two protagonists fight society to live together as the filmmaker believes that this zone of going against all odds for love has the potential to get a franchise value.## The report further adds that after contemplating on several subjects, Karan Johar has greenlit a subject that qualifies to be a sequel to Dhadak and has roped in two very talented youngsters to headline Dhadak 2. Los Angeles, April 17 - India's international star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is busy with the promotion for her two upcoming big projects, a romantic romantic-comedy drama Love Again, co-starring Sam Heughan and Amazon Prime Video's web series Citadel. ## While "Citadel" premiers on April 28 on Prime Video, the actress will return to the big screen with "Love Again" which is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5. It is an English-language remake of the 2016 German film "SMS für Dich", itself based on a novel by Sofie Cramer. ## Directed by James C. Strouse, "Love Again" is projected to take a decent to a good start at the domestic (North American) box office. According to Box Office Pro, the movie is looking to take the $5 million - $10 million in its opening weekend with a lifetime in the range of $12 million - $32 million, depending on response.## "Love Again" is made on an estimated budget of $20 million - $30 million. The higher projection of the film is almost similar to Chopra's last theatrical release (not in the lead role) "The Matrix Resurrections" which took a start of $10.7 million after debuting on 16 December 2021, a week before it was made available on HBO Max on December 22. ## It is about a woman, Mira Ray (PC), who is struggling to cope with the death of her fiancé, unintentionally sends a sequence of romantic messages to his old cell phone number, which has been reassigned to Rob Burns' new work phone. As a journalist, Rob is drawn to the candidness in Mira's beautifully written texts. Hyderabad, April 17 - Lady superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu's big-budget fantasy mythological drama film Shaakuntalam has turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office everywhere. ## The movie, directed by Gunasekhar, is based on a popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. Samantha plays the titular role while Dev Mohan features as Dushyanta in the film which was billed as a Disneyfied adventure like never before. ## Made on a budget of around 70 crores, Shaakuntalam was one of the most anticipated films at the time it was announced and was also carrying huge expectations as far as the box office is concerned. However, as seen with other films, the long delay in production made it a less exciting film. ## There wasn't much excitement among the audiences around the release of the film, however, it was still expected to fetch a good opening considering Samantha's presence but it didn't happen as it took one of the lowest starts of just approx. 3.20 crores gross for a Telugu movie featuring a prominent star. ## The critics as well as the general audience came hard at it and called the film a painful watch for not doing justice to the popular play. After such poor reviews, the hope of growing at the box office over the weekend also got blurred as it made only around 6.70 crores gross domestically in all languages. ## The overseas collection is also poor with around 2 crores for the total worldwide collection of approx. 8.70 crores. The total worldwide gross now stands at $350 million, surpassing John Wick: Chapter 3's $328 million to become the biggest film in the blockbuster series. ## The Chad Stahelski-directed directed flick has been a success story all over. At the domestic (North America) box office, the 4th installment has grossed $160 million through 4th Sunday and will beat the total collection of John Wick 3 ($171 million) by next week. ## Overseas, the actioner has made $190 million so far over 72 markets. The movie is projected to finish over $400 million worldwide which will make it the first in this particular film series to do so.
