Los Angeles, September 18 - Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has become the 10th highest-grossing Indian film at the USA box office. ## The Ayan Mukerji-directed fantasy action adventure film scored an estimated $1.1 million in its second weekend which takes its total collection to $6.8 million in the USA. The drop in the second weekend is huge but that couldn't stop the movie to outscore "Bajirao Mastani" ($6.6M) to become the 10th biggest movie there. ## Aamir Khan-fronted "Dangal" is the highest-grossing Bollywood movie in the USA with approx. $13 million while "Baahubali 2" is the biggest Indian grosser there with approx. $22 million.## Meanwhile, the biggest Bollywood movie ever, "Brahmastra" has crossed 200 crores net at the domestic box office for all languages. It scored an estimated 16 crores on its second Sunday, which pushes the total net cume to over 215 crores after 10 days. Pulwama, September 18 - Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated multipurpose cinema halls in the South Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama, on Sunday and has assured that every district of Jammu and Kashmir will get cinema halls soon. ## The official handle of The Office of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir made the announcement on Twitter. The tweet read, "A historic day for J&K UT! Inaugurated Multipurpose Cinema Halls at Pulwama and Shopian. It offers facilities ranging from movie screening, infotainment and skilling of youth".## On the first day, films like "RRR" and "Bhaag Mikha Bhaag" were shown to the audiences. "We will build such multipurpose cinema halls in every district of Jammu and Kashmir soon. Hyderabad, September 18 - Superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's action drama film Pushpa - The Rise will soon be released in Russia in the local Russian languages. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021 and grossed over 360 crores worldwide. It became a huge hit in the dubbed Hindi version and the makers are giving an extra touch to its sequel to make it a true Pan-Indian film. ## Meanwhile, director Sukumar said that the first part of the movie has been dubbed and will soon be released in Russia. The film was released internationally along with the domestic release in December last year and it will now be released in Russia in the local language. ## The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media, depicts the rise of a coolie in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state. ## "Pushpa" won 7 awards in SIIMA 2022, including the Best Actor for Allu Arjun. Los Angeles, September 18 - The Oscar-winning filmmaker, James Cameron said that the remastered version of his all-time highest-grossing film Avatar (2009) is gorgeous and that he was surprised after rewatching it on the big screen. ## The maverick filmmaker recently rewatched a fully remastered "Avatar" with his children, and it made him excited for the film’s upcoming rerelease in theaters. Cameron said that his kids have watched the movie on streaming or on Blu-ray, however, when they watched it on the big screen, they understood its grandeur a bit more. ## "Avatar" is getting rereleased on September 23 worldwide, and Cameron hopes that the young movie fans, who "never had the opportunity to see it in a movie theater" will watch it now. ## "Even though they think they may have seen the film, they really haven't seen it. The film was released with a low buzz but the audience's super positive word of mouth proved to be a boon for the movie as footfalls increased rapidly over the opening weekend.## The movie remained solid through the weekdays and now, in just 9 days, it has cleared the break-even target worldwide. The movie was valued at approx. 8 crores worldwide which has been achieved. Box Office: Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Bollywood Movie of 2022

Mumbai, September 18 - Director Ayan Mukerji's fantasy action adventure feature, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is all set to topple Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files to become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie during the entire covid-19 pandemic. ## The big screen entertainer takes just 10 days, including the second Sunday, to outshine TKF's lifetime worldwide total of 341 crores gross. TKF, however, will most probably remain the biggest blockbuster of 2022 knowing the fact that it generated massive profit for the makers against a very low budget of the movie. ## Nonetheless, "Brahmastra" has emerged as a hit at the box office despite the mixed reviews from critics. The movie is having a very good second weekend with an estimated 43-45 crores net. This will take the entire 10 days net collection to approx. 217 crores while the gross collection will be at 255 crores.## Including an estimated 95 crores from overseas markets, "Brahmastra's" total worldwide collection is looking to score around 350 crores after the second weekend (10 days). ## "Brahmastra" may go down to become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022 unless "Vikram Vedha", "Ram Setu" and "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" do something miraculous. ## It is not that the upcoming movie can't have a blockbuster run at the box office. Akshay Kumar's "Ram Setu" particularly has the potential to do wonders if it gets positive reviews. Chennai, September 17 - Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited epic period action film Ponniyin Selvan: I, which is scheduled to release on September 30 in multiple Indian languages. ## The film is boosted by a solid star cast, including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, among others in prominent roles. The film tells the story of the early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I (947 CE – 1014 CE).## The cast of PS1 could have been one of the biggest names in Indian cinema had Mani Ratnam not rejected his request. ## During the press meet in Chennai, Mani Ratnam revealed that superstar Rajinikanth had requested to play the supporting role in the movie. Bengaluru, September 17 - The Kannada film industry is flying high after the mega-blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2, and now, the industry is looking to score another big success with the upcoming period gangster drama film Kabzaa. ## The teaser of Upendra and Kichcha Sudeepa-fronted was released on Saturday (Sept. 17) and it brings back the vibes of KGF. The movie revolves around a 1947 Gandhi follower and a freedom fighter and how they were brutally attacked. Due to unavoidable circumstances, the freedom fighter's son gets trapped in the mafia world and the story unfolds between 1947 to 1984.## The teaser did not reveal any story or dialogues, but it still managed to leave a mark, thanks to the Ravi Basrur standout background score which perfectly syncs with the theme of the movie. Upendra is playing the lead role of a gangster while it also stars Shriya Saran as the female lead. ## "Kabzaa" will be a Pan India film that will release in seven Indian languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Odia, and Marathi.
