Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' Non-Theatrical Rights Sold At Massive Price

Chennai, September 12 - Thalapathy Vijay is the king of the box office and his films have always managed to do great collections irrespective of the critics' reviews. Thalapathy carries a huge loyal fan following that never disappoints the superstar whenever his film arrives. ## Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Varisu under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally. Needless to say, there is huge anticipation for this movie, not just among the fans but also among the film exhibitors and trade people.## Touted as an action drama film, "Varisu" makers have reportedly sold the non-theatrical rights of the movie and the reported price is approx. 120 crores. The remake of the Tamil blockbuster of the same name, "Vikram Vedha" is one of the most-anticipated films and the tease/trailers have raised those anticipations. ## Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has reviewed the movie and called calls it a very intelligently presented script. During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the "Krrish" director said that he was blown away when he watched the teaser of the film and immediately decided to watch it. ## "I have seen Vikram Vedha and it's a very intelligently presented script which shows that the director duo (Pushkar-Gayatri) has worked very hard. Mumbai, September 11 - Director Ayan Mukerji's fantasy action adventure movie, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has truly set the box office on fire and topped the worldwide box office this weekend. ## The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer grossed an estimated $27.05 million (215 crores) in its opening weekend at the worldwide box office, which was enough for it to become the number one movie during the weekend of September 9 - September 11. ## This is the first time that a Bollywood film and overall third Indian film after Thalapathy Vijay's "Master" and SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has topped the worldwide box office weekend. Anaheim, September 11 - Marvel Studios lightened up San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year with the announcement of two new Avengers movies in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 6, which will kick off with the "Fantastic Four" reboot, slated for November 8, 2024. ## While announcing Studios' some of the remaining projects in Phase 5 and Phase 6, Kevin Feige revealed at D23 Expo on Saturday that the "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", which will kick off Phase 5 with the release on 17 February 2023, is going to be a very important film in the MCU as it directly set up the stage for "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty", which will release on May 2, 2025. ## "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" sees Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly's heroes return to face a new foe: Jonathon Major's Kang the Conquerer. The character first appeared in the season finale of "Loki" as He Who Remains, but will introduce his next more sinister variant in Ant-Man 3. ## Kang the Conquerer is already a big comic book character and the with the announcement of The Kang Dynasty, it has been confirmed that the character is going to make a huge impact as a prevailing villain in the MCU lineup. ## Majors' Kang is also set to appear in another Phase 5 project, "Loki" season 2, of which, footage from that project at D23 revealed Kang's impact throughout the multiverse and at the TVA. Mumbai, September 11 - Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has been released in theaters and is doing phenomenal business at the box office, grossing over 150 crores worldwide in just 2 days. However, a section of people is spreading misinformation about the film's business by calling it fake. ## It was reported that PVR Cinema Chains lost 800 crores after the mixed reviews for the movie. However, the CEO of PVR, Kamal Gianchandani has dismissed such reports and even claimed that "Brahmastra" has been one of the best performing films this year in PVR Cinemas and it is only behind "KGF 2" and "RRR". ## In a series of tweets, Kamal Gianchandani cleared the misinformation about the film's box office collection. He was confused about whether it was the lack of understanding or it was done intentionally to harm the movie as some people are not happy with the film's success.## He also shared that the film's collections are on the rise and will secure terrific numbers for the opening weekend at PVR. Anaheim, September 11 - Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron announced at D23 Expo that the production of Avatar 4 has officially started while filming continues on Avatar 3. The filmmaker wasn't present at D23 in person but did send in a video for attendees to offer updates on the upcoming Avatar sequels. ## Cameron's long-awaited "Avatar: The Way of Water" closed out the Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century panel at the D23 Expo Saturday by handing out 3-D glasses to everyone in the audience and showing off six extended scenes from the movie, scheduled to release in December this year. The post-production continues on "Avatar 2". ## Coming 13 years after the release of the original film, "Avatar 2" focuses on the oceans of Pandora, as new performance capture technology has been developed specifically for Cameron to shoot scenes underwater. Many of the film's cast had to learn how to free dive and hold their breath underwater to be able to perform their necessary scenes.## The new footage of "Avatar 2" was shown at the D23 Expo and hailed as a pure visual treat, including the best showcase for the underwater work, in which several younger Na'vi jump into a coral reef and swim around hundreds of vividly rendered aquatic wildlife.## 20th Century Studios produced the film, with Cameron and Jon Landau producing on a budget of about $250 million, according to Variety. Anaheim, September 11 - Marvel Studios has revealed the solid star cast of its upcoming superhero movie Thunderbolts at the D23 Expo. Apart from showing footage of various upcoming Marvel titles, Marvel-head Kevin Fiege revealed Marvel's anti-hero team for "Thunderbolts", which will conclude MCU's Phase 5. ## Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava/Ghost), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine) are all part of Thunderbolts, and so is Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova/Black Widow, and Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster. ## Red Guardian, Yelena, and Taskmaster all hail from the recent "Black Widow" movie, while Ghost was last seen in "Ant-Man and The Wasp". US Agent was one of the main antagonists of "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier", which of course also starred the beloved character Bucky Barnes.## Similar to DC's "Suicide Squad", the Thunderbolts are a team of antiheroes and villains who will be tasked to work together and achieve a certain goal. There have been dozens of members in the Thunderbolts comics. The movie, directed by Sobhan, will most likely to re-release on Prabhas birthday on October 23 or a day before. ## Produced by M.S. Raju under the banner of Sumanth Art Productions banner, Varsham was the third highest-grossing Telugu film of 2004. It also starred Trisha Krishnan, and Gopichand along with Prakash Raj and Chandra Mohan, among others. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. ## Varsham was remade in multiple other languages, including Hindi as "Baaghi", starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.
