Prashanth Neel Sets His Future Projects After Yash-Fronted 'KGF: Chapter 2'

Bengaluru, April 10 - Director Prashanth Neel shot to fame with Yash-starrer "KGF: Chapter 1" in 2018. It was the film that made Neel one of the visionary directors of the country. His upcoming "KGF: Chapter 2" is arguably the most anticipated Indian movie of the year, and one of the main reasons behind the film's popularity is Neel's vision behind it. ## "KGF2" is Neel's third directorial. His previous two movies, including his debut movie "Ugramm", were huge box office hits. The KGF film introduced Neel to the Pan India phenomena and now, he is working with a couple of the biggest stars of Indian cinema. During a recent interview with a Kannada news channel, Neel opened up about his future projects after "KGF 2". ## The director said that he is committed to only two projects. As known to everyone, he is directing Prabhas in "Salaar". It is touted to be the biggest film in Neel's career as it will be darker and more violent. Produced by Hombale Films, 30% shoot of "Salaar" has already been completed, and the shoot will resume in May this year. The action thriller will debut in theaters in the summer of 2023 in multiple languages, including Hindi. ## Apart from "Salaar", director Neel has confirmed that he will be teaming up with Jr. NTR, who is currently basking on the success of "RRR" which has grossed over 1000 crores worldwide. Neel said that he has been a huge fan of Jr. NTR for the last 20 years and is excited to work with him. Their maiden collaboration, tentatively titled "NTR31", will go on floors sometime in 2023 and will most likely release in 2024. ## The aforementioned films are the only two confirmed projects the filmmaker currently has. There have been multiple reports that Neel would be joining forces with the current talk of the town, Ram Charan for a Pan India film. However, Neel hasn't discussed such a film and it seems Ram Charan's film with him is not going to happen anytime soon. Meanwhile, Neel has a project which he wants to do with Srimurli. Mumbai, April 10 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn, in August 2017, confirmed that he would be working on the sequel of his superhit film "Son of Sardaar", but said that it would take some time to start rolling. Later in 2019, director Ashwni Dhir confirmed that there were working on a comedy film, but again, the movie couldn't go on floors due to some reasons, and then the covid thing happened. ## And now, with things easing up and life returning to normal, the filmmakers are setting up new ventures all over again. It is said that Ajay Devgn has decided to go ahead with the second part of "Son of Sardaar", pulse, he is looking to make it a blockbuster franchise. ## Senior writer Robin Bhatt who helmed the writing and screenplay of the first part has confirmed the development of "SOS 2" and the modalities are fast being worked out. Box Office: RRR Tops 1000 Crores Worldwide Gross

Hyderabad, April 9 - The Indian cinema needed SS Rajamouli (again) to give it the first 1000 crores worldwide grosser since his all-time blockbuster "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion". "RRR", a period action drama film full of cinematic brilliance, has become the 3rd Indian movie to go past the 10 Billion mark at the worldwide box office. ## Starring two of Telugu cinema's biggest superstars, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan alongside the cameos from Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, "RRR", unlike "Baahubali 2" and "Dangal", reached the landmark box office figure during the covid-19 pandemic and it took just 16 days to get there. This makes this film stand apart from the rest of the other two titles. ## Apart from topping 1000 crores worldwide gross, "RRR" has crossed the 800 crores gross mark at the domestic box office, becoming only the second film after "Baahubali 2" to reach there. "RRR" has also become the first-ever movie to score 400 crores net in Telugu. BB2 is the second biggest Telugu movie with 338 crores net.## Meanwhile, in another record-breaking performance, "RRR" has crossed 100 crores gross at the USA box office. It is again only the second Indian movie to top the 100 crores mark there, after "Baahuabli 2", which had grossed 136 crores in 2017. It has become a global hit and outgrossed all other movies except "No Time to Die" ($774 million), China's "The Battle of Lake Changjin" ($905 million), and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89 billion) during the health crisis. ## "The Batman" is expected to outscore James Bond "No Time To Die" to become the 3rd biggest grosser during the said time. Los Angeles, April 9 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned actor Will Smith for 10 years from returning to the Oscars or attending any other Academy events. The decision has been taken 12 days after the first time Oscar winner slapped Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony over a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. ## However, despite the ban, Smith will retain the Oscar that he won in the Best Actor category for "King Richard", and will be eligible for future Oscar nominations and wins. ## The Academy's 54-person board of governors held a special meeting on Friday to determine what action to take against Smith. The actor was heavily criticized by Hollywood celebrities for his conduct during the ceremony and some even called for him to lose the Oscar statuette that he was awarded and/or his eligibility for future Oscars. ## Smith's suspension was expected even though he announced that he was resigning as a member of the organization a week ago.
