Los Angeles, October 18 - Marvel Studios' Phase 4 movies are going to be delayed again. While "Eternals" is still arriving on November 5, Disney and Marvel have postponed the releases of the upcoming films, starting with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness moving from March 25, 2022, to May 5, 2022.## Every Marvel / Disney's film has taken the release date of the next Marvel film. "Doctor Strange 2" takes the slot of "Thor: Love And Thunder", which has been pushed from May 5, 2022, to July 8, 2022, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has shifted from that July date to November 11, 2022.## Brie Larson's "Captain Marvel" sequel, "The Marvels", which was supposed to release on November 11, 2022, will now be debuting on February 17, 2023, while Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has moved from February 2023 to July 28, 2023.## The only Disney-released MCU movie to stick where it was is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, which will still be released on May 5, 2023. Meanwhile, Disney has once again pushed the untitled "Indiana Jones" movie to June 30, 2023, from the previously dated July 29, 2022. ## Disney has also moved the entire schedule of the untitled MCU films. One of those on July 28, 2023, is now the release date for the new Ant-Man movie, while the other on October 6, 2023, has not been replaced by anything.## It's still unclear why Disney has moved the release of MCU films as its recently released "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" performed very well at the box office and earned $414 million worldwide so far. Mumbai, October 18 - Sony Pictures' superhero film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has had a reasonably good first extended weekend at the Indian box office. The Tom Hardy starrer performed much better than some of the regional movies and earned Rs. 15.50 crores gross in all languages (Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu). ## Directed by Andy Serkis, "Venom 2" opened with Rs. 3.48 crore gross on Thursday and maintained the pace throughout the rest of the weekend with Rs. 3.77 crores on Friday, Rs. 3.45 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 3.50 crores on Sunday at the box office. The collection is without the biggest movie market in India, Maharashtra. ## "Venom 2" will debut in Maharashtra theaters on October 22 upon the reopening of cinemas in the state after almost 7 months in English and Hindi. The movie is expected to witness the jump after opening in Maharashtra including the economic capital city of India, Mumbai. ## On the worldwide front, "Venom 2" is nearing a $300 million hauls. The movie has had a brilliant run at the international box office in the past weekend and brought in $62.30 million, taking its total worldwide gross to $283.7 million, including $168 million at the North America box office.## "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" expanded to 44 international markets over past the weekend, including such major markets as Italy, Spain, South Korea, and India. New Delhi, October 18 - Punjabi film, Honsla Rakh has had a fantastic debut at the box office worldwide. After taking the best ever opening for a Punjabi film in India, the Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, and Sonam Bajwa starrer finished the 3-day opening weekend on high with Rs. 9 crores India gross. ## Overseas, the comedy entertainer added additional approx Rs. 8 crores, making it an Rs. 17 worldwide gross in the first weekend. The movie is currently the 4th highest-grossing Pollywood movie during the covid-19 pandemic and is likely to surpass "Chal Mera Putt 2" in the coming weeks to become the top Punjabi grosser. ## Honsla Rakh's large share of the total 3 days collection came from NCR where it has earned approx 2 crores so far followed by Chandigarh (66 lakh), Ludhiana (74 lakh), Amritsar (47 lakh), and Jalandhar (45 lakh). The show has already been watched by over 130 million users worldwide, and it is by far the biggest show ever for streaming giant NETFLIX. ## The mega-success of the show has earned millions for Netflix. According to a Bloomberg report (via Business, Netflix will generate approx $900 million in value for the company from the show, which is 43 times higher than the show's production cost. The report revealed that "Squid Game" cost just $21.4 million to produce, at around $2.4 million an episode. This is cheaper than most of the other Netflix shows. ## Last week, Netflix revealed that Squid Game became its biggest series launch ever with 111 million views in less than four weeks. It surpassed the record holder, Bridgerton, which was seen by 82 million people. ## Internal Netflix documents seen by Bloomberg said the show generated $891 million in "impact value." That's the metric that Netflix, which operates a subscription model, uses to gauge the financial importance of shows. The report suggests that "Squid Game" will earn Netflix a large number of subscribers.## The streaming giant thinks 89% of people who started "Squid Game" watched at least 75 minutes, according to Bloomberg. It thinks 66% of viewers - or 87 million people - finished the series in the first 23 days of it being online. Released by Universal Pictures, Daniel Craig's final outing as a 007 agent had a fantastic weekend overseas, pulling in another $54 million in the past weekend. This takes its total global haul to $447.5 million including $99.5 million in North America. ## The MGM and Eon's 25th Bond film is yet to open in China, where it is slated to debut on October 29. "No Time To Die", meanwhile, has overtaken Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" at the global box office this past weekend. Shang-Chi, which has become the biggest blockbuster at the domestic box office during the covid-19 pandemic, has earned $414M worldwide without getting a China release. ## Moving to "No Time To Die", the film is having a dream run at the U.K. and Ireland box office with approx $93 million gross so far, followed by Germany, where the movie is heading towards a brilliant $50 million gross. The recent box office numbers, especially in North America, are indicating that the good days are not far away for exhibitors and distributors. ## The latest Hollywood slasher film, Halloween Kills, which is a sequel to 2018's Halloween and the twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise, surprised at the domestic box office and debuted with $50.4M in a 3-day weekend from 3705 theaters, the biggest opening for a horror film in two years. ## The David Gordon Green-directed had by far the biggest opening weekend box office for any Hollywood film during the pandemic releasing both in theaters and on a streaming platform simultaneously. Chennai, October 17 - What a turnaround this for Sivakarthikeyan's Tamil movie Doctor. At one stage, the movie almost succumbed to the OTT illusion, but now it is going all guns blazing at the box office. The comedy-actioner, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has been declared one of the biggest blockbusters of 2021, and the reason behind it is the unpreceded response from the audience. ## Produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions, and KJR Studios, "Doctor" has become the highest grosser Indian film after the second covid-19 wave with INR 63.4 crores worldwide. It has surpassed the Telugu movie "Love Story" starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, which earned 61 crores* worldwide in the first three weeks while Akshay Kumar starrer "Bell Bottom" is at number 3 with Rs. 53.70 crores worldwide. ## "Doctor" was released on October 9 and it has earned Rs. 43.9 crores so far in Tamil Nadu state including Rs. 7.71 crores from Chennai alone. It was also released in dubbed Telugu version as Varun Doctor and it turned out to be a profitable venture for Telugu distributors with Rs. 2.09 crores so far. Overseas, it has approx Rs. 10 crores including 400K (Rs. 3.10 crores) at the USA box office. ## Even after 8 days, "Doctor" showing no signs of slowness and reporting Housefull shows all over Tamil Nadu. The 2nd Sunday morning occupancy was 80.38 which is remarkable considering the various factors. The box office numbers could have been much higher if there were no 50% theater capacity restrictions in Tamil Nadu.
