The Batman Trailer Promises A Visually Stunning Experience For Audiences On The Big Screen

Mumbai, October 17 - Robert Pattinson-led "The Batman" trailer was launched on Saturday (October 16) during DC Fandom, and believe us, it is going to make audiences go nuts in movie theaters. There was already a lot of hype and expectations from this DC film, and the new trailer only has raised those expectations. ## The new trailer of Matt Reeves-directed "The Batman" shows the glimpse of Zoë Kravitz as new Catwoman and Colin Farrell as Penguin. The trailer also gives a proper look at Gotham City and teases the action sequences. It promises a visually stunning experience for the audience and the darkest cinematic outing yet for the Caped Crusader, even when compared to Christopher Nolan's gritty "Dark Knight" trilogy. ## The trailer begins with the arrest of the Riddler, played by Paul Dano, who is clearly the main antagonist driving "The Batman" story, as a serial killer who leaves cryptic clues with his victims and holds a special fixation on Batman. It also gave a broader look at Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. Earlier, the Catwoman character was played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992's "Batman Returns" and Anne Hathaway in 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises". ## "The Batman" movie also marks the return of Penguin, who was last appeared in the "Batman Returns", played by Danny DeVito. The trailer also gives the first look at Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne/Batman's loyal butler. Los Angeles, October 16 - Michael Caine, a British actor, and two-time Academy Award winner, is putting a brake on his legendary 70-year old film career. The 88-year old said in an interview broadcast Friday that the newly-released "Best Sellers" is the last film he has acted. ## "Because I haven't worked for two years, and I have a spine problem which affects my legs so I can't walk very well, so...", he told BBC radio host Simon Mayo. "And I also wrote a book, a couple of books, which were published and were successful, so I'm now not an actor, I'm a writer, which is lovely because as an actor you have to get up at half-past six in the morning and go to the studio. As a writer, you can start writing without leaving the bed". ## Caine, in his decades-long film and tv career, worked over 170 films including "The Dark Knight" trilogy. He got nominated for Oscars six times and went on to win on two occasions for roles in 1986's "Hannah and Her Sisters" and 1999's "The Cider House Rules". ## The frequent collaborator of Nolan's film, Caine most recently appeared opposite John David Washington and Robert Pattinson in the Nolan directed Tenet and Martin Owen's Twist. When asked if the Aubrey Plaza co-starring Best Sellers is his final film, Caine answered, "I think it would be".## "I don't have any — there haven't been any offers, obviously, for two years, because nobody's been making any movies I'd want to do", Caine said of the COVID-19 pandemic. "But also, I'm 88. Mumbai, October 16 - Legendary filmmaker Ramesh Sippy along with dream girl Hema Malini appeared in Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 as special guests for the 'Shaandaar Shukravaar' episode. The iconic trio remembered the good old days of "Sholay" which is considered a benchmark film in Indian cinema.## During the special episode, Sippy, who directed the iconic "Sholay" (1975) revealed that why he chose Hema Malini for the role of Basanti and how did he think about 'Jai-Veeru' played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra respectively. ## "See, Hema Ji in her first film with me had portrayed the role of a young widow and in the second film, 'Seeta Aur Geeta', she surprised us. So, for the role of 'Basanti', I felt that no one can do it apart from her", the filmmaker told Big B. ## "Also, there was one more thing. When we completed 'Seeta Aur Geeta' and it became successful, it is then when we decided whatever I make after this, Dharam Ji, Hema Ji, and Sanjeev Ji must be there. And as the script of 'Sholay' was shaping up, it was fitting perfectly", he added.## Ramesh Sippy, who directed Big B in three more films after "Sholay", further revealed how he thought of Jai-Veeru and who suggested him to pick Amitabh Bachchan who wasn't a big star at that time. "We had 'Veeru', he was there in the last film, too. So, there was one thing that I had thought about is that we have three superstars and if I get one more superstar, it would be difficult for me, only".## "So, then I thought I need a good actor, who does good work and becomes a team. Because when Salim-Javed suggested Amit Ji for this role, saying there's one 'Amitabh Bachchan' who's doing good work and is working with us in 'Zanjeer'. I said ok, that's good. And, then I thought that he's not a star at the moment so I won't have that problem that there's one more star on the set", he said. ## The filmmaker also said that Big B did a great job in "Anand" and then "Bombay to Goa". He also remembered the dance by Big B in a bus in the film "Bombay to Goa" and got the idea of picking Big B. "I felt this seems to be an actor who can do anything. So, he will be able to give us what we want. That's how the casting was done", he added.## To all that Sippy said, Amitabh acknowledges and responded: "Thank you very much, Sir". Replying to this, Sippy shared: "You proved it. And by the time the film released, you became the biggest star".## "Sholay" was released on Independence day in 1975 and was the highest-grossing Indian film at that time. Rahul Dravid To Be India's Next Head Coach: Report

Mumbai, October 16 - Former India cricketer and one of the greats of the game, Rahul Dravid is all set to become India's next head coach after the upcoming T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman. According to TOI, Dravid agreed to coach the Indian men's senior team on Friday during the IPL final where BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah held a meeting with him. ## During the meeting with Dravid - Ganguly and Shah persuaded him to take Ravi Shastri's position after the world cup and he reportedly agreed. "Dravid has confirmed he will be the next head coach of the Indian team. He will be stepping down as the head of the NCA soon", a top BCCI official told TOI on Friday night after the IPL final. ## TOI also reported that Dravid's trusted lieutenant Paras Mhambrey has been appointed as the bowling coach while no decision has been made on the replacement for fielding coach R Sridhar. Vikram Rathore is likely to remain as the batting coach.## Meanwhile, the current head coach Ravi Shastri will be stepping down from the post after the mega event. New Delhi, October 16 - Punjabi film "Honsla Rakh" has lightened up theaters on its first day itself. The movie, which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Kaur Gill, Sonam Bajwa in the leading roles along with Shinda Grewal, opened in movie theaters on October 15 and earned INR 2.52 crore net in India. ## Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron and produced by Daljit Thind, and Diljit Dosanjh, Honsla Rakh takes the biggest opening for a Punjabi film at the box office. It breaks the record of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's romantic comedy "Shadaa", which opened with Rs. 2.50 crores in 2019. ## Honsla Rakh's large share of the total 1st-day collection came from NCR where it earned INR 71 lakh followed by Chandigarh (33 lakh), Ludhiana (27 lakh), Amritsar (16 lakh), and Jalandhar (14 lakh). The comedy entertainer took full advantage of the Dussehra holiday as the multiplexes reported higher occupancy on the first day of release. ## The movie, which marks Shehnaaz Gill's comeback in Punjabi cinema after 3 years, is heading towards a solid 8 crores opening weekend. On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra (October 15), the Rohit Shetty directorial kick starts promotion with 20 days to go for films' worldwide theatrical release on November 5.## To begin the promotion, the makers released a video featuring Akshay Kumar along with Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, requesting fans to come to theaters to watch the film. The glimpse shows the rustic getups of Nani and Keerthy Suresh and it looks very promising. Dasara will portray Nani in a never-seen-before role as shown in the glimpse. ## According to reports, Nani plays a rural guy in this intense action drama set in Telangana. Mumbai, October 15 - On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, two of the most anticipated Hindi remakes of the Tamil blockbuster movies, "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam" have started filming. Both "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam", went through some big changes before makers finally took the films on floors on October 15. ## Vikram Vedha is a gangster cop drama film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles along with Rohit Saraf and Radhika Apte. Hrithik steps in the shoes of Vijay Sethupathi from the original film and plays a gangster while Saif Ali Khan reprises R Madhavan's role of a cop. Pushkar – Gayatri (a husband-wife duo), who helmed the original Vikram Vedha, are also on board to direct the Hindi version as well. ## The film draws from the ancient lore of Vikram-Betaal, where a wily gangster manages to escape every time a determined cop nabs him, by narrating a new story drawn from his own life. It is being produced by Reliance Entertainment, T-Series, and Y Not Studios. The first schedule of the film is being shot in UAE. The remake stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in the leading roles. It is an action thriller film in which police officers try to solve a murder case involving lookalike suspects arrested on the basis of pictorial evidence.## The Hindi version of Thadam is being directed by Vardhan Ketkar in his directorial debut while Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have bankrolled it under their banners of T-Series and Cine1 Studios.
