Producers Guild of India To Vaccinate Industry Members From June 1st

Mumbai, May 31, 2021: The Producers Guild of India (PGI), the association of Indian film, television, and digital content producers, on Monday, announced a vaccination drive for its members and associated production crews beginning from June 1.## According to a press release, the PGI said the members will be vaccinated over the multi-day drive to be held at Mehboob Studios in suburban Bandra. Through these camps, thousands of production house personnel and crews will be vaccinated. ## Siddharth Roy Kapur, President of the Producers Guild of India, said the initiative was key to getting the film industry back on its feet amid the coronavirus pandemic.## "An activity of such importance and magnitude cannot be carried out singlehandedly and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received to make this possible", Kapur said in a statement.## He also thanked the production banner "Excel Entertainment who played a pivotal role in securing the vaccines and Mehboob Productions who very generously offered complimentary use of the spacious Mehboob Studios".## "We are happy that we are able to provide this facility to our members, their employees, and the cast and crew of their productions as we work to get the industry back on its feet again in the weeks ahead," Kapur added.## Keeping the coronavirus situation in mind, the government of India allowed a vaccination drive for 18+ aged from May 1st. Mumbai, May 30, 2021: Yash Raj Films' ambitious film, Prithviraj is one of the highly-awaited films of the year. It stars Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar makes her Hindi film debut by playing his beloved wife Sanyogita. This movie is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj Bhasha epic poem by Chand Bardai about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. ## Prithviraj was announced in March 2019 and was supposed to release on Diwali 2020, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed as the shoot was yet to be completed. The shoot resumed in October 2020 at YRF Studios, and it is now scheduled to release in theatres on 5 November 2021 coinciding with Diwali. ## While the film has already been delayed by a year, the makers of Prithviraj, find themselves in the hot water because of the film's title. The Karni Sena - a Rajput organization, has raised an objection around the title of the film and demanded it to be changed to Prithviraj Chauhan's full name as a mark of respect to him. ## Filmmaker Surjeet Singh Rathore, President of the Youth Wing of the Karni Sena said, "How can they keep the title of the film as just 'Prithviraj' when the film is based on the great Prithviraj Chauhan? We want the title to be changed to his full name and give respect to him". ## The Karni Sena does not stop with just title change as they have other conditions too. They have demanded that the film has to be shown to them first before its release. Singh said, "If they don't listen to our advice they will have to face the consequences. What happened to Sanjay Leela Bhansali during 'Padmaavat', the makers of this film will have to be prepared for it, too". ## The movie is written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi who had completed the script for Prithviraj in 2010 but found no one to back the project until Yash Raj Films came to his rescue in 2018, to revive the film. IPL 2021 Set To Resume In United Arab Emirates

Mumbai, May 29, 2021: The Indian Premier League 2021, which was postponed after the first half due to the covid-19, is all set to resume in the United Arab Emirates, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Saturday. ## The decision was taken at a Special General Meeting (SGM) held virtually, considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year. The remaining 31 matches will now be played in UAE, which also had hosted the 2020 IPL behind closed doors. ## The BCCI SGM further authorized the Office Bearers to seek an extension of time from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take an appropriate call on the hosting of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The BCCI thinks that it will explore all possibilities to host it in India itself. ## The ICC has slated its meeting on June 1 to decide the fate of the T20I Worl Cup, but the world body may have to defer the decision on moving the October 18-November 15 tournament out of India in view of the BCCI's request. ## Stay tuned...
