Chiranjeevi Wants Government To Honour Legendary Actor-Politician NTR With Bharat Ratna As A Mark of Respect

Hyderabad, May 28, 2021: Megastar Chiranjeevi took to social media to pay his tribute to legendary Telugu actor-politician, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) on his 98th birth anniversary. ## In a post shared on Instagram in the Telugu language, Chiranjeevi requested the government to honour NTR with a posthumous Bharat Ratna as a mark of respect for his contribution to this country.## He also stated that it would not just be an honour to the late NTR but also to the Telugu-speaking people. Hyderabad, May 28, 2021: South Indian actress Raashii Khanna said that it was upsetting for her to shoot for her Telugu movie, Thank You, in a foreign location at a time when India is battling the second wave of covid-19. The actress was shooting for the film in Milan, Italy and recently returned home. ## Speaking about her experience shooting for the film in Italy, Raashii said it was safe because people in the country very responsibly observed protocol. ## "We were in the middle of the pandemic and I was at first scared to go there (Italy). Once there, I realized people in Italy were very responsible for wearing masks even though the second wave had passed. Very few people were shooting with us in the crew and all precautions had been taken", Raashii told IANS. ## "While I was there, the second wave in India intensified and I was constantly reading about what was happening in India. It was upsetting. It felt bad that our country was suffering and we were away. Now we are back and we can't do much. It's a helpless situation. We shot for what we had gone for, but it was upsetting humanly. We were constantly thinking about what was happening back home", she added. ## Raashii, who made her debut in 2013 with Madras Cafe - her only Hindi movie to date, said that shooting in Italy for "Thank You" was challenging as there were restrictions on movement because they were Indian. Some of the locations were canceled as the growing pandemic situation in India went against them. ## "There were days when we were shooting for 18 hours a day because we didn't have a choice. It wasn't like pre-pandemic that you could shoot at luxury and anywhere you wanted to", the actress added. ## Thank You is a romantic comedy film that stars Naga Chaitanya in the male lead role. It will be Raashii's second release with Naga Chaitanya after "Venky Mama", and she says her role in the film will be relatable. Mumbai, May 28, 2021: On the 138th birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, commonly known as Swatantryaveer Savarkar, producer Sandeep Singh in association with Amit B Wadhwani has announced a biopic. Sandeep Singh has acquired the movie rights to make a biopic on the controversial freedom fighter. ## The movie titled, "Swatantra Veer Savarkar", will be helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who has also written the script along with Rishi Virmani. Interestingly, Sandeep Ssingh had earlier produced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic with Vivek Oberoi playing Modi. PM Modi has huge admiration for Savarkar. ## The director Mahesh Manjrekar said in a statement, "I have always been fascinated by the life and times of Veer Savarkar. I believe he is a man who has not got his right in history. The reality is that he continues to expose such strong emotions that may have influenced many people. GOI Asks OTT, Digital Media Platforms To Give Details On Compliance With New Rules In 15 Days

Mumbai, May 27, 2021: The Government of India, on February 25, had announced the new guidelines for the digital media platforms including social media and OTT platforms and decided to tighten the grip over them after receiving a lot of complaints against OTTs and social media. ## The Information and Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) minister Prakash Javadekar had told India Today TV that the tightening of rules governing social media and streaming companies was done to stop fake news as these platforms have been subject to misleading their users.## Now, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has sought details from digital media publishers, including OTT and digital news platforms, to compliance with the new guidelines on digital media ethics, within 15 days of time. ## However, when the guidelines were announced, many people criticized the government saying that the new rules will directly lead to OTT censorship and will harm the freedom of expression. Meanwhile, Prakash Javadekar had defended the rules saying people are happy. ## “People are happy with the guidelines", Javadekar had said while he also dismissed the charge that the stakeholders were not consulted before issuing the guidelines. Mumbai, May 27, 2021: Kamaal R Khan, who starred in the film Deshdrohi, put out a series of tweets on Wednesday alleging that the Bollywood actor Salman Khan has filed a defamation case against him for reviewing his recently released film, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. ## Now, DSK Legal - the official advocates for Mr. Salman Khan and Salman Khan Ventures have issued a statement regarding the matter. While the legal team of Salman accepts that they have sent a legal notice to KRK, it is not for reviewing Radhe but defaming the actor's image from the last several months just to draw his attention. ## "Mr. Kamaal R Khan, the Defendant, has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Mr. Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the Defendant reviewed the film, Radhe. This is incorrect", their statement reads (according to Box Office Worldwide).## "The suit has been filed as the Defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr. Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation, and money laundering transactions. Defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Mr. Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself", the statement further stated. ## KRK, on May 25, shared the legal notice on the microblogging site, Twitter, and said that Salman sued him for reviewing his film. Mumbai, May 27, 2021: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will once again go back to his busy routine once the lockdown restrictions end in the Maharasthra state. ## As soon as the lockdown is lifted and shots allowed, the first movie to begin production of Akshay will his ambitious, Ram Setu, which also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu is an epic mythological adventure film. ## The filming of Ram Setu had already begun in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh towards the end of March this year before the deadly second wave of the covid-19 pandemic hit the country. However, things are stabilizing slowly as cases going down. According to reports, the makers are planning to resume the shoot of Ram Setu around June 20 with the hope that the second wave will die down by then. ## Meanwhile, South Indian actors, Nassar and Satyadev Kancharana, known professionally as Satya Dev have said to be been roped in to play key roles in the film. This will be the second film together for Akshay and veteran Nassar after Rowdy Rathore, while Satya Dev will be sharing screen space with AK for the first time. ## Akshay Kumar plays the role of an archaeologist, who is on the mission to prove if Ram Setu - a mythical bridge between ancient India and Sri Lanka, is a myth or reality. Los Angeles, May 26, 2021: In a landmark deal, Amazon.com Inc., an American tech giant, has bought the iconic Hollywood movie studio, MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) for a massive sum of $8.45 billion, on Wednesday. ## The new deal between Amazon and MGM will add a vast collection of Hollywood classics and franchises to Amazon's mix. MGM boasts a film library of around 4,000 titles and 17,000 hours of TV programming, including the Bond, Rocky/Creed, and The Hobbit film franchises.## Meanwhile, the billion-dollar deal came at a time when the 25th installment in the James Bond film series - No Time to Die, is only a few months away from its worldwide theatrical release. The question, however, arises whether "No Time To Die" will release in theaters or it will go directly to Amazon Prime Video. ## Well, there is some breather for cinemas in this regard as longtime James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are determined to keep the Bond franchise on the big screen in the wake of mega deal. ## "We are committed to continuing to make James Bond films for the worldwide theatrical audience", Broccoli and Wilson said in a statement out of London, where they run Bond home Eon Productions, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ## No Time To Die, after being delayed numerous times because of the pandemic, is set to hit theaters on October 8 (USA) this year (the Amazon-MGM deal won't likely be closed then). MGM subsidiary United Artists Releasing is distributing the highly anticipated tentpole domestically, while Universal Pictures International is handling overseas duties.## Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the movie features Daniel Craig in his final turn as 007. Pen Studios Announces Post-Theatrical Digital and Satellite Partners Of SS Rajamouli's RRR

Mumbai, May 26, 2021: SS Rajamouli's period drama film, RRR is getting bigger and bigger day by day. Pen Studios, which had acquired RRR's theatrical rights for the Hindi market along with electronic, digital, and satellite rights of all languages, has now announced post-theatrical digital and satellite partners of the film. ## RRR, which is scheduled to release on October 13 this year, will be releasing in a total of 10 languages including five international languages which include English, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, and Spanish.## Netflix has begged the post-theatrical streaming rights for all five foreign languages along with the Hindi language streaming rights in India while ZEE5 will be the streaming partner for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. ## RRR, being one of the biggest films of Indian cinema, is also expected to do wonders on its TV premiere. Keeping the big scale of the film in mind, Star network has bagged the satellite rights for Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages while Zee Cinema will premiere RRR's Hindi version and Asianet for Malayalam. ## RRR will premiere on digital platforms after 10-15 weeks of theatrical release.
