Box Office: Tovino Thomas' 'Aayante Randam Moshanam (ARM)' Tops 100 Crore Worldwide Gross

Kochi, October 12 - The year 2024 continues to get better and better for the Malayalam film industry with a maximum number of films entering the 100-crore gross club at the worldwide box office and the latest to join the list is Tovino Thomas-fronted Ajayante Randam Moshanam.## The action-adventure was one of the most anticipated big-budget Malayalam titles and it performed on the expected lines. On its 5th Friday (30th day), ARM entered the 100 crore gross club at the worldwide box office, becoming the 5th Malayalam movie of the year to achieve the feat. ## At the domestic box office, ARM has minted approximately 68+ crores gross, including around 62 crores in Kerala. Overseas, the movie has grossed an estimated 32 crores for a worldwide total of 100+ crores in 30 days, making it the second movie Tovino after 2018 - The Film and his solo 100 crores grosser.## As said, ARM is the 8th Malayalam film of all time to enter the 100 crores worldwide gross club and is fifth of 2024 after Manjummel Boys, Premalu, Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life, and Aavesham, to breach the milestone. Along with him, all the members of the executive committee submitted their joint resignation. ## "AMMA has decided to disperse the executive committee on moral grounds in the light of allegations made by some actors against some of the committee members. Superstar Mohanlal's 'Barroz' Gets A New Release Date

Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has once again been postponed from September 12 and is now to be released on October 3rd during the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. ## Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. On Saturday (August 17), Mohanlal took to social media to announce the new release date. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year.## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. Prithviraj Sukumaran's Box Office Blockbuster 'Aadujeevitham' Locks OTT Release Date

Kochi, June 21 - Malayalam superstar Mammootty will have to wait a little longer to score his first 100 crores worldwide grosser as his action-comedy Turbo, which looked promising early on, will finish well below the 100 crores mark but has done enough to earn the hit status. ## Directed by Vysakh, Turbo has grossed an estimated 71.50+ crores at the worldwide box office in 4 weeks (29 days). In India, the movie has minted 39.50+ crores gross while the overseas collection is around 32 crores.## Turbo started on a promising note, grossing over 7 crores on opening day and 21+ crores gross in the 4-day first weekend in India. The movie finished its first full week with 29+ crores gross in India and 57.50+ crores worldwide. Blockbuster 'Aavesham' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection

Kochi, June 3 - Actor Fahadh Faasil's action comedy Aavesham has completed its box office run with an excellent collection in India and worldwide despite missing a couple of milestones due to premature digital release.## Released on April 11, Aavesham scored the second-biggest opening week domestically for a Malayalam movie of 2024 with a collection of 35.45 crores gross, before showing an incredible hold in the second week for 29.10 crores, followed by another solid hold in the third with 21.70 crores gross. ## Aavesham was well on track to enter the 100 crores gross club in India but due to the early digital release after the 4th week, the collection dropped heavily in the following weeks which kept it under the 100 crores mark. Kochi, May 28 - Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil's action comedy Aavesham has emerged as a box office blockbuster but it will miss the coveted 100 crores gross, which once looked like a sure shot, in India due to the premature digital release. ## Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham was well on track to hit 100 crores gross collection domestically till 4th week. When things were looking all good, the movie was made available to stream online which had a drastic effect on its box office as the collection dropped by over 80% in the 5th week and it couldn't recover since then. ## In its 6th week, the movie minted just 37 lakhs gross, followed by 5 lakhs in the 7th weekend as a total domestic collection after 46 days is approximately 98.75 crores gross and it will finish around 99 crores in India. Kochi, May 26 - Megastar Mammootty's Turbo has a fantastic opening weekend at the domestic and worldwide box office. Kochi, May 25 - The Malayalam film industry is reaching new heights in 2024 and for the very first time in its history, Malayalam movies have topped 1000 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office in a single year. ## The total worldwide collection of 2024 Malayalam movies is approximately 1030 crores gross, including 660 crores gross in India and 370 crores overseas, as of May 24. Domestically, Mollywood has contributed approximately 20% of the total collection this year, behind Hindi (40%) and Telugu (23%). ## The real-life inspired survival thriller Manjummel Boys has been the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024 with a worldwide collection of 241 crores, including 167.50 crores gross in India and 73.50 crores overseas. Kochi, May 17 - Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil scored the fourth biggest opening at the worldwide box office for a Malayalam movie of 2024 with over 8 crores gross collection. ## The Vipin Das's directorial movie grossed approximately 8.15 crores, including approximately 4.40 crores gross in India and 3.75 crores gross overseas collection. It is the second biggest opening for Prithviraj Sukumaran's career, behind Aadujeevitham which was released earlier this year. ## The opening of 8.15 crores gross of Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is the 4th biggest for a Malayalam title of 2024, behind Aadujeevitham (16 crores), Malaikottai Vaaliban (12.15 crores), and Aavesham (10.50 crores). The two of the three aforementioned films (except Vaaliban) went on to gross over 150 crores worldwide and are one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters.## The word of mouth for Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is super positive and it is already coming into effect on the second with superb hold all over. Kochi, May 16 - Malayalam cinema is unstoppable in 2024 with back-to-back big successes and the latest to join this race is Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's comedy-drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil which has taken a very good start at the domestic box office. ## Directed by Vipin Das, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil has taken the opening of 4+ crores gross in India, one of the biggest openings for a Malayalam title of the year. It has taken a bigger opening than Manjummel Boys which is currently the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the domestic and worldwide box office. ## At the Kerala box office, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil is estimated to open around 3.50 crores gross and it could go higher when the final collection comes. Box Office: Fahadh Faasil's 'Aavesham' Tops 150 Crore Gross Worldwide

Kochi, May 9 - Fahadh Faasil's action comedy film Aavesham has become the 4th Malayalam movie to top 150 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, after Manjummel Boys, 2018, and Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life. ## Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham has grossed an estimated 150.50 crores worldwide in 28 days. In India, the movie has minted approximately 96.10 crores, including 74.15 crores at the Kerala box office while the overseas collection is an estimated 54.50 crores.## Aavesham is the third Malayalam movie of 2024 to top 150 crores worldwide gross after Manjummel Boys (240.50 crores) and Aadujeevitham (157 crores). The movie is also on course to top 100 crores in India which will make it only the third Mollywood film to do so. ## The film has been made available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in just 28 days and this will slow down the box office progress of it.
