Superstar Mohanlal's 'Barroz' Release Date Locked

Kochi, May 6 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has announced Onam 2024 release. Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. ## On Monday (May 6), Mohanlal took to social media to announce that Barroz will be hitting worldwide theatres on September 12, 2024, on the occasion of the Onam festival. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year. ## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and now, the makers have announced a September 2024 release. ## In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. Box Office: Fahadh Faasil's Blockbuster 'Aavesham' Nears 100 Crore India Gross

Kochi, May 6 - Fahadh Faasil's action comedy film Aavesham is nearing becoming the 4th Malayalam movie of all-time and second of 2024 to top 100 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after crossing 90 crores gross mark in its 4th weekend. ## The Jithu Madhavan's directorial venture grossed an estimated 6.35 crores in its 4th weekend which pushed its total domestic collection to around 92.50+ crores gross in 25 days.
