Mumbai, December 8 - The opening week record of superstar Shah Rukh Khan's spy action thriller Pathaan was dismantled by superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule by a big margin. Both the movies had the advantage of a long extended weekend and they made the most of it. ## From the record-breaking opening, Pushpa 2 trended well above Jawan in the opening weekend and Pathaan after that. Mumbai, December 7 - There is no stopping Pushpa 2 as it once again goes on overdrive on its first Saturday at the Hindi box office and is potentially looking at the biggest day since its release with over 70 crores net collection. ## The film is looking to beat Jawan's biggest single-day collection of 71.63 crores net which came on the first Sunday as early estimates suggest Pushpa 2's third day/first Saturday collection can rise to 73-75 crores which will be known by tomorrow morning. The total Hindi collection of the film is around 200 crores net in 3 days, and the weekend is expected to be around 270+ crores net.## In Telugu states, the movie sees a decent jump and is looking to score in the range of 30-35 crores gross on Saturday. In Tamil Nadu, Pushpa 2 comes close to the opening day figures as estimates suggest 10.50+ crores gross day, while there is a slight drop in Kerala with around 2.15 crores gross and in Karnataka, the film scores a good jump and is expected to collect in the range of 11 crores gross. ## Overall, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross in the range of 135-140 crores on its first Saturday which is a jump of over 20% from Friday. Chennai, December 7 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action drama film Kanguva failed to live up to expectations and turned out to be a big disaster at the box office. Far from the humongous claims, this Siva's directorial ended up under 110 crores gross worldwide as a massive disappointment. ## With not getting much at the box office, the makers have now announced the streaming release date of the film in South Indian versions in the hope of a turnaround. The South Indian versions - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on December 8. ## The theatrical window of the film is just 21 days which is the lowest for a Pan India movie and an indication of how badly the film performed at the box office. However, as has been seen in past movies, the box office disasters have also failed to generate viewership on OTT as well. ## The movie is produced by Studio Green in association with UV Creations. It is the 11th South Indian movie and the second for Allu Arjun to surpass 100 crores net mark in Hindi. ## Pushpa 2 has also topped Pushpa at the worldwide box office in as many days after a strong second day, thanks to the major contribution from the Hindi heartland. Mumbai, December 6 - After the historic opening day collection, superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has a sensational hold in Hindi on its second day with a drop of around 25% despite the mid-week release and mammoth opening. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 breached the half-century mark again on its first Friday/second day as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 52 crores net which can rise to 55 crores depending on the hold in the mass belt which will be known by tomorrow. ## The total Hindi collection of the film has crossed the 100 crores mark in just 2 days at around 122+ crores net which also surpassed the lifetime Hindi total of Pushpa - The Rise (106+ crores net). The pre-sales for Saturday and Sunday are phenomenal as the opening weekend of the movie is expected to be 240-260 crores net. ## While Pushpa 2 is having a riot in Hindi, it witnessed a heavy and might be an alarming drop in South Indian states. In Telugu states, the movie is having a drop of over 60% as early estimates suggest 25-30 crores gross, followed by around 8-9 crores gross in Karnataka, and 8-9 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. ## Thanks to the Hindi version, Pushpa 2 seems to be heading for another huge day of over 100 crores gross domestically as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 105-115 crores gross which is about a 45% drop from the pure opening day. ## The film is expected to see good growth on Saturday and Sunday in South Indian states whereas the Hindi version will be in riot mode over the weekend to post unheard numbers. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil action thriller Maharaja has topped 150 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, thanks to the fantastic run in China. This is the first movie of the actor in the lead role to top this milestone. ## Maharaja was released in China on November 29 and in the first week, the film grossed approximately 41 crores which pushed its total worldwide cume to around 147 crores gross. On its second Friday, Maharaja has grossed approximately 5.50 crores which took its total collection past the 150 crores mark. ## After the second Friday collection in China, Maharaja has surpassed Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (149 crores gross) to become the 5th highest-grossing Tamil movie and also the 5th 150 crores Tamil grosser of 2024 at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, December 6 - Kannada superstar Yash rose to nationwide fame after the monstrous success of KGF 2 which is the highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time.
