Box Office: Marvel's Eternals Packs A Solid Punch Amid Sooryavanshi & Annaatthe Mehum At The Indian Box Office
Mumbai, November 6 - Marvel has once again been proved why it is one of the most trustable international brands in India. The latest superhero offering from the studio in its Phase four, "Eternals", which was released on November 5 on the occasion of Diwali, packs a solid punch at the Indian box office with Rs. 8.75 crores gross on the first day, despite the two-way clash with Bollywood's "Sooryavanshi" and Tamil biggie "Annaatthe". ## "Eternals", which is directed by Oscar-winner ChloΓ© Zhao, had a promising advance booking with Rs. 2.48 crores for day 1. The superhero film, however, exceeded the expectations and scored huge at the box office. As compared to the recent Hollywood pic, Sony's "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", "Eternals" witnessed an astonishing growth of 150%. "Venom 2" had earned Rs. 2.95 crore net on day 1. ## Moreover, "Eternals" along with domestic blockbusters - Sooryavanshi and Annaatthe - gave a much-needed boost to the Indian exhibition sector, especially in the Hindi market. Rohit Shetty's "Sooryavanshi", which was held back for more than 18 months, was the top performer on the first day of its release as it created havoc at the box office. With an estimated total of Rs. 30 crores, it proved to be the biggest opening for Bollywood since the beginning of the pandemic. ## Rajinikanth's "Annaatthe", on the other hand, was released a day earlier and grossed Rs. 34.70 crores on its first day. On its second day, the action entertainer grossed approx. Rs. 22 crores, this takes it total sum close to Rs. 57 crores in the first two days. ## The first two days of Diwali (Nov. 4-5), brought over Rs. 100 crores at the Indian box office, with Annaatthe and Sooryavanshi being the top performers. Vishal and Arya's Tamil film "Enemy", which released day and date with Annaatthe, fairly did well on the first two days and grossed approx Rs. 9 crores. Telugu film, "Manchi Rojulochaie" grossed Rs. 1.50 crore on the first day. ## Stay tuned...
