'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 2 Crore Footfalls; First Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Hyderabad, July 3 - Amid the box office carnage, sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 20 million (2 crores) footfalls in India in all languages, becoming the first Indian movie of the year to do so, beating fellow industry title, Hanuman. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has scored an estimated 2.02 crores of footfalls in just 6 days in all versions. The Telugu version is leading approximately 1 crore admissions, followed by Hindi with 75 lakh. The rest of the versions have sold approximately 28 lakh tickets so far. ## In 2024, only four Indian films have sold more than 1 crore tickets in theatres and Kalki 2898 AD is the only one to make it double. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Crosses 600 Crore Gross Worldwide

Hyderabad, July 3 - After another good day at the box office, director Nag Ashwin's mega-blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD has topped 600 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days, becoming one of the fastest Indian movies to achieve the milestone. ## The Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted tentpole has been on a winning spree since day 1 and breaking records left, right, and centre. After reaching the milestone of 500 crores worldwide gross in the 4-day opening weekend itself, the movie showed a strong hold on Monday to go past 550 crores and kept the momentum going on Tuesday to reach the next target. ## On its 6th day, Kalki 2898 AD minted an estimated 40+ crores at the worldwide box office, including 32+ crores domestically to take its total worldwide cume to around 610 crores, including an estimated 441+ crores in India. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' First Tuesday Early Estimates

Hyderabad, July 2 - Kalki 2898 AD continues to score well at the Hindi box office after another solid hold on its first Tuesday. The movie is seeing a drop of around 20% from Monday which is a good hold as Monday was stronger than expected after the extended opening weekend. ## The Nag Ashwin's directorial blockbuster, on its 6th day, scored an estimated 13-14+ crores net collection in Hindi. This takes its total to 141+ crores in the dubbed version as the first full week is heading for 160+ crores net. ## The weekday trend of Kalki 2898 AD is almost similar to RRR in Hindi and it will probably be heading towards a similar finish. Hyderabad, July 2 - As the world is waiting for SS Rajamouli's next which is with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, the maverick filmmaker has reportedly finalized the antagonist to take on Pokiri star in this highly-anticipated Pan India movie, tentatively titled SSMB 29. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, SS Rajamouli has been in talks with Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran to come on board as the main villain and the actor has finally agreed to do the same. Mumbai, October 9 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion set the benchmark for not just Telugu cinema but also in the Hindi and rest of the versions. It was the last film to sell over 5 crores tickets in Hindi. Baahubali 2 was only the second South Indian film, after Baahubali, to reach 100 crores net mark in Hindi. Mumbai, June 30 - All hell loose as Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD hits the ball out of the park on its first Sunday as the movie is showing a jump of around 40% in the dubbed Hindi version which is phenomenal as Saturday was itself huge with approximately 26 crores net collection. ## The collection on Saturday was affected by the final of the T20 World Cup to some extent but Sunday made up for the lost ground. Mumbai, June 28 - Pan India superstar Prabhas is set for another good ride at the Hindi box office after his sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD off to a superb start with approximately 22.50 crores net collection. The opening of the film is in the range of Hrithik Roshan's Fighter with a minor difference as the joint biggest of the year.## As has often been said in the last few years, Prabhas has emerged as the biggest superstar on the Pan India level and easily the biggest South India-origin star in the North. Despite his films not reaching the high end of the target, the actor has consistently delivered in Hindi, which the Bollywood stars have failed to do regularly. ## Since Baahubali (2015) which opened at 5.15 crores net in Hindi, Prabhas has done 6 movies, including Baahubali 2 and except for Radhe Shyam and Salaar, all the movies have taken an opening of 20+ crores net in the dubbed Hindi version. Radhe Shyam was a major misfire with just 4.80 crores net opening, largely due to the COVID-19 effect. Salaar did open well at around 16 crores net to lead a strong finish of over 150 crores net.## Baahubali 2 remains the biggest opener for Mirchi star in Hindi with 41 crores net, followed by Adipurush with 37.25 crores opening. Though the other movies couldn't come close to the opening of Baahubali 2 or Adipurush, they opened big enough to pave the way for the big lifetime finish. ## As said before, Prabhas is the only South Indian origin actor to have 5 films in the 100 crores net club in Hindi and with Kalki also performing well, the superstar will have 6 movies on the list, including a 500+ crores mega-blockbuster in Baahubali 2. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Scored Third Biggest Opening For Indian Film Worldwide

Hyderabad, June 28 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has had a sensational opening day at the domestic box office, clearing 100 crores gross mark and was equally strong overseas to put the movie among the top three biggest Indian openers of all-time. ## In India, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster grossed approximately 114 crores in all versions. There were expectations of the movie scoring much more but the mass centres in Telugu states didn't show up as expected which kept the movie a little below the projected mark but big enough to set the tone for a massive opening weekend. ## In terms of language-wise gross collection, the original Telugu version scored approximately 78.50 crores, followed by the Hindi version with approximately 27 crores, and the rest of the languages grossed around 8.50 crores. The Telugu version faired below expectations but it is expected to maintain a solid hold over the weekend.## Overseas, Kalki 2898 AD grossed an estimated 61 crores on opening day, for a worldwide 175 crores start which is the third biggest ever for an Indian movie behind RRR (223 crores) and Baahubali 2 (217 crores). Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' First Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 27 - Kalki 2898 AD is off to a flying start a the Indian box office and is flirting with a potential 95 crores net collection in all languages. It has easily taken the biggest opening of the year and the biggest since KGF 2 by a long margin. ## Starring Prabhas in the lead role, the sci-fi epic is estimated to gross 65-70 crores in Telugu states, followed by 26-28 crores in North India. In Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, the movie is expected to gross an estimated 18-20 crores, for 110-115 crores (95 crores net) in all versions. ## The Hindi version of the movie is eyeing the biggest opening of the year beating Fighter. The Hrithik Roshan-starrer is currently the biggest Hindi opener of the year with 22.50 crores net and Kalki is looking to score an estimated 22-23 crores net collection. ## The initial word of mouth seems to be positive which should help the movie to consolidate the collection over the weekend. Los Angeles, June 27 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD starring Pan India superstar has outgrossed SS Rajamouli's period action drama RRR to score the biggest premiere for an Indian movie in North America.## RRR, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, scored a $3.3 million gross collection on its North America premiere in March 2022, and now, two years later, Kalki has beaten this record. The movie grossed $3.85 (32.10 crores) on premiere day in NA. ## Kalki 2898 AD scored $4.25 million in pre-sales for the entire weekend and could be among the top 10 movies this weekend in North America.
