Box Office: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan Second Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, April 12 - After the underwhelming Eid opening day, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-fronted Bade Miyan Chote Miyan dropped by over 50% on its second day which is a worrying sign for the film's box office prospects. ## According to early estimates, BMCM scores around 7 crores net collection on its first Friday, pushing the total to around 22.50 crores net in two days. The movie received mixed to negative word of mouth which has started showing its effect from the second day itself despite the Eid buzz. ## The film needs to perform exceptionally well on Saturday and Sunday to take the opening weekend past 50 crores mark, however, it won't be easy as advances for the weekend are currently lower than the opening day. ## Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan too couldn't make a move after the disappointing first-day collection of approximately 4.50 crores net. On its second day, the movie dropped by over 40% for an estimated 2.50-3 crores net despite the opening day itself was not huge enough to justify the drop. ## The total collection of Maidaan after two days + paid preview is around 9.75 crores net which is poor. Mumbai, April 12 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana is shaping up to be a global phenomenon with every development around it. In India, the film is already a hot topic with its casting along with Kannada superstar Yash coming on board to co-produce and starring in it. ## Producer Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus is working day and night to make Ramayana a global force and according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the filmmaker is in talks with Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Pictures to take the movie to worldwide audiences. ## "The deal (with Warner Bros.) is being negotiated not just to get monetary support for the project but also to ensure collaboration with the right partners on the distribution and marketing front in international markets up to the film’s release. Mumbai, April 10 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff's long-awaited action entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran is hitting the big screens on April 11 and the expectations are high from this one as far as the box office concerned. ## Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, BMCM advances were opened nearly a week before the release but the response in the pre-sales was an absolute disaster until the last hours during which the sales jumped huge from what they were 12 hours before the release. ## As of 11 PM on April 10, the advance sales of BMCM are approximately 4.15 crores with around 160K tickets sold for the opening day. The final pre-sales could be around 4.50 crores which is respectable given the fact that they were in no position to reach this mark at one stage. ## The Eid holiday factor and the advance booking trend indicate the opening of BMCM around 20 crores which is not huge with the kind of star power it involves but a decent which gives some sort of hope of jumping over the weekend if it manages to get positive word of mouth. ## Eid usually entertains spot booking and the makers of BMCM will be hoping to receive positive word of mouth to get the best use of the holiday. The actor is currently shooting for Singham Again and Raid 2, both scheduled to release in theatres in the second half of 2024. ## Now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, AD is all set to start shooting for two much-awaited films, De De Pyaar De 2, and Son of Sardar 2, in June this year in London. "Ajay will wrap up shooting for Singham Again and Raid 2 by the end of May. He will be off to London in June to commence work on De De Pyaar De 2 followed by Son of Sardar 2", the reports state. ## De De Pyaar De 2, which will be directed by debutante Anushul Sharma, will have a 15-day schedule in London, and after calling a wrap on the first schedule of DDPD2, Ajay Devgn will move on to Son of Sardar 2. The director of SOS 2 is not revealed yet but it is said that an acclaimed director known for comedies in the Punjabi Film Industry has been roped in for the same. ## Ajay Devgn is currently working on 8 franchise films.
