It surpassed the lifetime collection of 2022's blockbuster "Ponniyin Selvan - 1" (488 crores) on its 11th day. ## "Jailer" has been running riot at the box office since its debut on August 10, and till its second Sunday (11 days), it grossed approximately 507.50 crores worldwide, including 329.50 crores at the domestic box office, and 178 crores overseas collection.## The movie, with its second Sunday collection, has surpassed the 500 crores gross mark, becoming only the second Tamil and sixth South Indian film of all time to achieve this rare milestone. The movie will be directed by the national award-winning filmmaker, Sekhar Kammula and the upcoming movie marks Rashmika's maiden collaboration with Dhanush and Kammula.## Tentatively titled "D51", the multi-lingual movie was officially announced in 2021 before it went for a long delay until recently when the makers confirmed the development. It is the first time that the national awardee, Dhanush and Kammula joined hands for a film. ## The film in the combination of Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sekhar Kammula will be shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages and will also be released in Malayalam and Kannada languages. Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial action drama film grossed sensational 308 crores worldwide in the extended 4-day weekend, more than 130 crores than the lifetime collection of the superstar's last movie "Annaatthe" (2021).## "Jailer" grossed huge approx. 177 crores at the domestic box office, including approx. 82 crores in Tamil Nadu. The movie sees a jump of around 10% today, the first Sunday/fourth day from the Saturday collection which itself was huge.## The action drama film scores an estimated approx. 45 crores gross collection on Sunday which takes the total collection to approx. 170 crores gross over a 4-day extended weekend. After receiving a fabulous response in the advance sales, the Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial showed very good growth throughout the day, especially in the entire South belt.## The early estimates collection of the movie suggests 50+ crores opening day domestically (official data may vary), by far the biggest start for a Tamil title this year. In Tamil Nadu, the movie scored an estimated 22-23 crores gross, again the biggest in the state for any movie this year. ## Outside the home state, Tamil Nadu, "Jailer" has a record biggest opening of all-time for a Tamil movie in Karnataka state with an estimated 11 crores gross.
