Suriya's 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' New Release Date Revealed

Chennai, January 26 - Suriya's first big-screen release after two back-to-back direct OTT premieres, "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" has been delayed due to the 3rd covid-19 wave. The action-thriller, written & directed by Pandiraj, was supposed to release on February 4 this year. ## According to Only Kollywood, Sun Pictures has pushed the film by a couple of weeks and the movie will now release on either February 17th or 18th. Even though the 3rd covid wave isn't as serious as the 2nd wave, the state government has imposed a weekend curfew to curb the spread of the virus. It was a wise move to push the release of ET by two weeks as makers are hopeful that the situation will be normal by then. ## "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" is Suriya's 40th film. It marked Suriya's 3rd collaboration with Sun Pictures after Ayan (2009) and Singam (2010) while Pandiraj earlier worked with Suriya, whose production company 2D Entertainment had backed his projects "Pasanga 2", which had the latter playing a supporting character and Karthi's "Kadaikutty Singam".## Suriya's 1st film as a lead hero with Pandiraj, "Etharkkum Thunindhavan" has a huge cast in place including Priyanka Arul Mohan, who plays the female lead alongside Sathyaraj, Vinay, and others. The film's music is composed by D. Imman, whilst cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu.## Meanwhile, Suriya also has a film with director Vetrimaaran titled "Vaadivaasal". This Kalaippuli S. Chennai, January 24 - Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay was the first A-Lister of Indian cinema to release his film "Master" in theaters during the covid-19 pandemic last year. The movie proved to be a mega-hit in theaters, even though it was made available on OTT 16 days after its theatrical release.## There is no doubt that Thalapathy Vijay is the most bankable actor in Tamil cinema and expectations from his next movies are sky high. The actor recently completed the shoot of director Nelson Dilipkumar's "Beast". The action thriller carries a huge buzz among trade and movie lovers. This Sun Pictures production is scheduled to release in April 2022. ## Meanwhile, the "Bigil" star has started prepping for his next, which is going to be Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie. It is said to be the finest film, to be produced by Vamshi Paidipally, in Vijay's career. Dil Raju, who will be producing this mega-budget action drama film, said in a recent interview that Thalapathy Vijay has really liked the script and called it the best in the last 20 years. ## Dil Raju also has some big plans for the release of "Thalapathy 66". The "Maharshi" producer, who is also producing Ram Charan and Kiara Advani's upcoming film "RC 15", revealed that he has two release dates in mind for Vijay's film, which will be finalized according to the covid-19 scenario in the country. Though "RC 15" is currently slated for Sankranthi 2023 release, this slot might be taken by "Thalapathy 66", if the movie failed to meet the Diwali 2022 timeline due to the covid. ## "Vamshi has come up with a beautiful storyline. When I listened to it, I loved it. Vijay listened to the story and said that he hasn't heard a story like this in 20 years. When a star says this, it gives you confidence. The film's shooting will begin in March. If there are no delays due to Covid-19, then the film will release on Diwali. If it misses Diwali, it will release on Sankranti 2023", Dil Raju said in a recent interview with a Telugu television channel.## There have been reports stating that some of the noted actors and a top-notch technical team will be associated with the project. Aamir Khan Productions, yesterday clarified that "Laal Singh Chaddha" will arrive on April 14, 2022, as scheduled contrary to the reports of its postponement. ## The release of "Laal Singh Chaddha" will meet the much-anticipated Pan-India biggie, Yash-starrer "KGF: Chapter 2", which was long ago announced for that date. And now, Thalapathy Vijay's keenly-awaited Tamil blockbuster "Beast" is also looking for the same window. ## Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, "Beast" hasn't set an exact release date, but it has been announced for April release. Industry sources have said that it will be released on April 14, thus confirming the blockbuster clash with KGF 2 and LSC at the box office.## However, if all three biggies decide to come out on the same date, it will be "KGF 2", which will be affected the most. Being a Pan-India film, the movie is carrying a lot of anticipation and eyeing to be a potential highest-grosser of the year. In the scenario of the clash, its chances will get a dent due to screen sharing with the other two. ## Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha" is an outright Hindi film and is expected to do well despite the clash with "KGF 2". Mumbai, January 21 - Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms seems to be on a mission of releasing Hindi dubbed versions of South Indian movies. While Shah is behind the revolutionary idea of airing dubbed versions on television, the recent theatrical success of "Pushpa - The Rise" in Hindi has raised the expectations from South Indian films as far as theatrical experience is concerned. ## Inspired by the "Pushpa" success, Manish Shah, who owns the Hindi dubbing rights of 80% of South Indian films, has already announced the Hindi theatrical release of Allu Arjun's 2020 blockbuster "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" on January 26. AVPL was the highest-grossing South Indian film of 2020 which was directed by Trivikram Srinivas.## After "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo", Manish Shah has plans to release Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's "Rangasthalam" (2018). This Sukumar-directed is one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. Meanwhile, if all goes well, Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Mersal" (2017) will also be released in theaters in Hindi. ## Directed by Atlee, "Mersal" became a huge hit in Tamil. As revealed earlier, the actor will be teaming up with his "Valimai" director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor again for "AK61". It will be another action thriller film billed on strong emotions. Interestingly, Thala Ajith will reportedly be playing a negative role in the film after a long time. ## According to a Pinkvilla report, "AK61 marks his return to the negative role space after a long time. Directed by H Vinoth, the movie has been certified with a 'UA' certificate by the censor board and has been greenlit to hit theater screen on January 13, 2022, in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. ## "Valimai" will be Thala Ajith's second-longest film of his career. The theatrical runtime of the film for the original Tamil version is 178:35 seconds (2 hours, 58 minutes, 35 seconds), which is the second-longest for Ajith's film after 2001's "Citizen", which was 181 minutes long. ## Produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios, the trailer of "Valimai" was launched on December 30. Sukumar has also written the script of the film, which is a two-part release. The second part will release in December next year. ## The acclaimed director revealed in a recent interview that he had got an offer to narrate a story to Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay after the Telugu blockbuster "Rangasthalam" (2018). However, things didn't materialize due to various reasons.## Director Sukumar, however, promised to come up with something different for Thalapathy Vijay. He said that he would have a look at Vijay's filmography so far and would get an idea of the choices of his film to write a story for him and direct it as well.## Meanwhile, Sukumar will next be directing the second part of Pushpa, titled "Pushpa - The Rule".
