Chennai, December 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil blockbuster "Master" has topped the list of most tweeted films of 2021 in India. The first Indian blockbuster of the pandemic era has taken the first spot over films like "Valimai" (Pongal 2022 release), Vijay's own "Beast" (summer 2022 release), "Jai Bhim", and "Vakeel Saab". ## Vijay's tweet unveiling the first look poster of "Beast" is also the most retweeted tweet in Indian entertainment in 2021. The star is now getting ready for the worldwide release of Beast which will take place in the summer of 2022.## Earlier, Suriya's "Jai Bhim" topped Google's most searched films of 2021 in India. The movie, which focuses on the real-life struggles of marginalized groups and the issue of institutionalized discrimination, remained one of the hottest topics due to the controversy where it was alleged of showing a community in a bad light. ## Interestingly, as opposed to Twitter trends which were dominated by the South Indian movie, the Google search showed Bollywood movies making the headlines. Suriya's Critically Acclaimed 'Jai Bhim' Is Google's Most Searched Indian Film Of 2021

Chennai, December 8 - Tamil superstar Suriya has won critical acclaim for his last two films, "Soorarai Pottru" and "Jai Bhim". Interestingly, both films were released on Amazon Prime Video and were among the most-watched films in Prime Video's history. ## Now, Google India has declared the list of its 'Year in Search' findings as it explained the top search trends of 2021 in the country. "Jai Bhim" which focuses on the real-life struggles of marginalized groups was the most googled film of the year in India. Another Prime Video film "Shershaah" starring Sidharth Malhotra, is the second most searched film on Google. ## Salman Khan-starrer "Radhe", which received the worst of reviews, was the 3rd most searched film of 2021 on Google India. Among the Hollywood titles, Marvel Studios' "Eternals" was the 5th most searched film in India while "Godzilla vs Kong" found the 7th spot in the list. Drishyam 2 and Bhuj: The Pride Of India featured on the lists as well.## Thalapathy Vijay's "Master" and Akshay Kumar-fronted "Sooryavashi" were the 6th and 7th most searched films of 2021. "Master" was the first big-ticket release in India during the pandemic and it went on to become the blockbuster at the box office with a worldwide collection of over Rs. 220 crores. "Sooryavanshi" too Bollywood's first superhit film during the pandemic and has so far grossed over Rs. 290 crores worldwide. ## Meanwhile, "Jai Bhim", is also among the highest-rated films on IMDb. T J Gnanavel-directed focuses the spotlight on the issue of institutionalized discrimination and is established on the struggle of an Irula woman Parvathi (played by Sengani) to get justice for her husband, who was arrested and tortured by police in a false trial of thievery. Chennai, December 7 - It looks like the South Indian film industry is dealing with so-called unforeseen circumstances, which is making the filmmakers delay their movies. ## Recently, a couple of Telugu and Tamil films, including Keerthy Suresh's "Good Luck Sakhi" got postponed due to unknown reasons, and now, Prabhu Deva-starrer Tamil movie "Thael" is getting the same treatment. ## Directed by Harikumar, "Thael", which features Prabhu Deva and Samyuktha Hegde in the leading roles, has been postponed and the new date will be announced soon. Studio Green Productions, the production house that has produced the action thriller, said in a statement that the release of Thael had been postponed because of "unforeseen situations".## "Thael", which means 'scorpion' in Tamil, was originally scheduled to hit screens on December 10. The film has music by C. Sathya and cinematography by Vignesh Vasu. It has been edited by National Award winner K.L. Praveen.## Interestingly, Prabhu Deva, who is known for his dancing skills, does not have a single dance number in this film. The movie also stars Eshwari Rao, Yogi Babu, and others in key roles. Chennai, December 2 - Tamil movie "Maanaadu", which was released a week ago on November 25, is going bonkers at the box office as it turned out to be the best performer for actor Silambarasan TR. ## Now, director Venkat Prabhu has revealed that he has plans for the sequel of Maanaadu in a recent interview. He also confirmed that the sequel will not only feature Silambarasan TR but will also have SJ Suryah, who played DCP Dhanushkodi, back in the mix. ## Venkat Prabhu has also added that initially, the team wanted to rope in Ravi Teja to play Dhanushkodi but due to his busy schedule, SJ Suryah came on board. Suryah added that Ravi Teja has seen the Tamil version and is interested to play Dhanushkodi if the film gets remade in Telugu.## The story of the film revolves around a common man and a police officer, who is trapped in a time loop, on the day of a public conference of the chief minister and forced to live the same day over and over again. ## Maanaadu is produced by Suresh Kamatchi under the banner of V House Productions. Chennai, November 21 - Ever since actor Suriya's Tamil film "Jai Bhim" has released on Amazon Prime Video, it has triggered a new spot of controversy. Despite winning accolades for making such a hard-hitting film, the social drama film is being subjected to show the Vanniyar community in a bad light. ## While the makers of the film, including actor Suriya, are facing criticism, director Tha Se Gnanavel, feels responsible for all the trouble Suriya facing for doing this film. On Sunday, Gnanavel posted a statement on Twitter and said that he regretted the trouble Suriya was facing on his account.## "The welcome that 'Jai Bhim' got from all segments has brought us happiness. In the same way, I did not actually expect some opinions that have gone against the film", he said in a statement, claiming that he did not know that a calendar that was in the background would be construed as an identity of a community. ## He explained that the intention behind placing the calendar there was only to manifest the idea that the year was 1995. "None of us had any intention of showing the calendar as an identity of any community. When I got to know about the calendar from social media on the night of November 1, after the film had released on Prime Video, all efforts were made to immediately get the calendar changed on the morning of November 2 itself", he added. ## Stating that it was unfortunate that actor Suriya was being asked to take responsibility for something that he, as director, was solely responsible for, Gnanavel said he wished to express his regret for the difficulty it had caused to Suriya. Chandru files a habeas corpus case and he refers Rajan case to continue further to find the truth.## The film stars Suriya playing the role of Justice Chandru, with Lijomol Jose, K. Chennai, November 19 - Tamil superstar Suriya will be making his big-screen return after two back-to-back digital releases with director Pandiraj's "Etharkkum Thunindhavan". Sun Pictures on Friday announced that "Etharkkum Thunindhavan", which happens to be Suriya's 40th film, will open in theaters on February 4, 2022. ## It will be Suriya's first film to release in theaters after more than two years. His last theatrical release was the 2019 action drama "Kaappaan". Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, his last two releases, Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim, directly premiered on Amazon Prime Video. ## Produced by Sun Pictures, Etharkkum Thunindhavan will mark Pandiraj’s third project with Suriya after Pasanga 2 and Kadaikutty Singam. During the event, Silambarasan TR, who is playing the lead role, broke down at the stage, asking his fans to "take care of him". ## Silambarasan told cheering fans who had assembled at the Krishnaveni theatre, braving heavy rains that were lashing the city, that he had gone through a lot in recent times. Though the film has not been announced officially yet, Siva recently confirmed in an interview that he will be directing Suriya in his next, which will go on floors next year. ## The latest report around this much-awaited collaboration suggests that Suriya will be enacting a duel role in the film that is said to be a commercial family drama that will also play to Suriya’s big image in that category.
