Chakra Review: Vishal's Crime Thriller Gets Positive Response From The Audiences

One of the long-awaited Tamil movies, Chakra hit theaters on February 19 on around 1500 screens worldwide. Starring Vishal, the film was initially supposed to have its theatrical release on 1 May 2020 coinciding with May Day but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Even after the lockdown lifted and theaters reopened, Chakra had to face many challenges before it finally saw a release. ## Based on cybercrimes and e-commerce scams, the story of the film revolves around the robbery by a gang of hackers and cybercriminals on the Independence Day of India. The film is a spinoff to Vishal's 2018 action thriller film Irumbu Thirai. Directed by MS Anandan and produced by Vishal under his banner Vishal Film Factory, the movie also stars Shraddha Srinath, Regina Cassandra, Robo Shankar, Manobala, and Srushti Dange in key roles. ## Chakra also released in the dubbed version of Hindi as Chakra Ka Rakshak by B4U Motion Pictures along with dubbed versions of Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Tamil Nadu Government Permits 100 Percent Seating Capacity In Theaters Ahead Of Master Release

A few days ago, Tamil superstar, Vijay met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and reportedly urged him to allow 100% seating capacity in the theaters for his upcoming movie, Master. And now, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a notification granting permission for 100% occupancy in theaters/cinemas which is nothing short of the best present for the team 'Master'. ## Earlier theatres in every state of India were allowed to operate only with 50% occupancy considering the covid-19 pandemic. The International Film festival of Kerala (IFFK) Will Be Held In February

The silver jubilee of The International Film festival of Kerala (IFFK) will be held from February 10 onwards in four places including Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Thalassery. The people who will participate in the festival will require Covid negative certificates and the delegate fee is reduced to Rs 750.## The festival will be inaugurated at Thiruvananthapuram on February 10 and will be conducted here from February 10 to 14 before moving to Ernakulam from February 17 to 21, From February 23 to 27 at Thalassery, and from March 1 to 5 at Palakkad.## This was announced by the state minister for culture AK Balan yesterday (Jan 1). He said that the film festival which was generally held in December each year has been postponed to February 10 owing to the Covid pandemic. Nearly 14,000 delegates used to attend the festival each year but owing to Covid-19, this won't be possible and hence, the festival will be conducted at four venues.## Speaking to media persons Balan said, "All the cultural festivals as part of the film festival are cancelled owing to the Covid pandemic. Meet the Director, Press meet, Master class and discussion with foreign guests will be conducted online".## He further said that IFFK will have competition section films, Malayalam cinema today, Indian cinema now, Kaleidoscope, Retrospective, and Homage sections. Four films will be screened in a theatre a day and five theaters will screen movies in each district. ## The Kerala State Chalachithra Academy who is the host of the festival will have antigen testing facilities at the venues in association with the state health ministry. Thalapathy Vijay Meets CM Palaniswami Ahead of 'Master' Release

Kollywood superstar Thalapathy Vijay met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday night (27 December) ahead of the release of his upcoming movie, Master. The actor sought the help of the Tamil Nadu government for the release of his next movie. ## According to reports, in a private meeting at the Chief Minister's residence, Vijay along with others from the movie's team requested the Chief Minister to allow 100% seating capacity against the current capacity of 50% seating at theaters.## The Tamil Nadu government recently reopened theatres and allowed 50% seating capacity by following physical distancing norms post complete lockdown due to the spread of coronavirus. Amid predictions that the release of the movie with 50% capacity will not yield the required profit, the actor has requested the Chief Minister for the boost.## Master starring Thalapathy Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, and Arjun Das, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Xavier Britto is slated to be the biggest release in Tamil post the covid-19 pandemic.## The movie is expected to hit the screens on January 13 ahead of Pongal season. It was earlier scheduled to release in April 2020.
