Mumbai, July 12 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Munjya has become the third Bollywood movie of 2024 to top 100 crores net collection after Fighter and Shaitaan. The Aditya Sarpotdar's directorial achieved the feat in its 5th week of the box office run.## Part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, Munjya minted approximately 3 crores net collection in its 5th week, which took its total collection over 100 crores net. It is the 121st film to enter the 100 crores net club in the Hindi language.## Munjya is the fourth movie of the year to hit the 100 crores net mark in Hindi, which also includes Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which is currently the biggest Hindi grosser of the year at the domestic box office with over 232 crores net collection. ## Starring Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma in the leading roles, Munjya is the maiden 100-crore net movie for the duo as well as for director Aditya Sarpotdar. Box Office: Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, July 11 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira, a remake of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru, is finally hitting the big screens on July 12 after multiple delays and postponements. The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara who also directed the original movie starring Suriya. ## Sarfira has been the most anticipated new movie for the last couple of weeks, as per the IMDb's real-time popularity but the pre-sales response is telling a completely different story. The advance booking of Sarfira opened a couple of days ago but it has been progressing at a snail's pace and is not going anywhere. ## As of 4 PM on July 11, the pre-sales gross collection of Sarfira is only approximately 32 lakh with 15.6K sold for the opening day. With not much time left for the first show to start, the advance sales of the movie are heading for around 50+ lakh for the opening day which is very low. ## In comparison to the previous movies of Akshay, the pre-sales of Sarfira are trending a little above Selfiee which finished opening day sales at just around 40 lahks, and below Mission Raniganj (76 lakh gross), which are among the lowest for the actor in many years. Sarfira's pre-sales will probably finish somewhere between Selfiee and Mission Raniganj.## Selfiee opened at around 2.50 crores net while Mission Ranigang took the start of 2.80 crores net and a similar sort of opening is expected for Sarfira with a possibility of 3+ crores start depending on word of mouth. However, unlike Selfiee, Sarfira has to face challenges, first with holdover Kalki 2898 AD which is running strongly and second with Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 which is also releasing on July 12. ## Sarfira is not a mass entertainer, plus the original version of the film has widely been watched by the Hindi audience so the areas where a movie can grow are limited. Mumbai, July 1 - After the fantastic opening weekend, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD put up an excellent hold on its first Monday in the dubbed Hindi version with a drop of just around 20% from the opening day, Thursday. ## The Nag Ashwin's directorial blockbuster shows the power of super positive word of mouth as it scores an estimated 16.50-17.50 crores net collection. This takes the total Hindi collection of the film to around 128 crores in just 5 days as the first full week is heading for 160+ crores net. ## Despite coming after an extended weekend, the superb hold on Monday, be it single screens or multiplexes indicates a long run for the movie and with the current trend, it will reach 200 crores net in the second weekend itself. Mumbai, June 25 - Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected member of parliament, has announced a new release date for his long-awaited biographical political drama Emergency on the day of the 50th year of The Emergency imposed in 1975 for two years by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. ## The movie, which is written, directed and stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Indira Gandhi, was supposed to be released on June 14 but it will now hit worldwide theatres on September 6, 2024, and will have a solo release. Mumbai, June 24 - Maddock Films' Munjya has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the 7th Bollywood film of 2024 to achieve the feat. The horror-comedy entered the 100 crores gross club on its 17th day. ## Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya has approximately 98.35 crores gross (83.30 crores net) in India and an estimated 4.25 crores overseas for 102.60 crores worldwide gross through the third Sunday. It is the second movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe to reach the 100 crores mark after Stree (182 crores).## Starring Abhay Verma, and Sharvari Wagh, Munjya is in the race to top 100 crores net collection. It is expected to reach around 90 crores mark by the end of the second week and then, the race to the century mark will begin thereafter.
