Disney's 'Moana 2' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, October 19 - Disney's upcoming animated musical adventure film Moana 2 is gearing up to hit the big screens in November last week of 2024 and it is expected to make a big splash at the box office. ## According to Deadline, the sequel is tracking to earn $105 million - $115 million over its 5-day Wednesday to Sunday opening weekend, and $75 million - $82 million of that during its Friday-Sunday weekend at the domestic box office. The website reported tracking service Quorum's projection. ## The first Moana opened to $82 million over 5 days, including $56.6 million during Friday-Sunday, in 2016 and went to gross $248+ million at the North American box office. ## If the projections for the movie hold true, this will mark the biggest opening for a movie released just before Thanksgiving weekend, beating Disney's Frozen which grossed $93.5 million upon its Wednesday release in 2013.## Deadline reports that the above-mentioned projections for Moana 2 line up with the success of the marketing materials Disney has unveiled so far, including the first trailer which is Disney's most-watched ever for an animated movie with 178 million views in the first 24 hours.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, October 18 - Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures high-awaited Venom: The Last Dance is set to hit the Indian theatres a day earlier than its domestic release. It is directed by Kelly Marcel and is the last film in the Venom franchise. ## Starring Tom Hardy in the title role, Venom 3 has been confirmed to be released on October 24 in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. The pre-sales for the same opened on October 18, almost a week before its big screen debut. ## Venom: The Last Dance is a sequel to Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU). With this, it has become the second Telugu movie and the fourth Indian title of 2024 to achieve the feat. ## Devara is the second film of Jr. NTR to top 400 crores worldwide gross after RRR, also starring Ram Charan. Chennai, October 12 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office after the super strong second day. The movie had a mid-week release on Thursday and despite that, it took a solid opening of 64 crores globally. ## On its second day/first Friday, Vettaiyan dropped just around 25% at the domestic box office and grossed approximately 27.80 crores. Additionally, the movie minted approximately 14 crores gross collection internationally, making it a 42 crores gross second day worldwide. ## The rock-solid collection on Friday pushed the total to past 100 crores gross at approximately 105.80 crores, including 64.80 crores gross in India and 41 crores overseas. With this, it has become the 25th Indian movie and 5th Tamil movie of 2024 to achieve the feat. ## Vettaiyan is the third movie of superstar Rajinikanth to top 100 crores worldwide gross collection post the Covid-19 pandemic after Annaatthe (2021) and Jailer (2023).
