SSMB 29 Shoot Starts In January 2025

Hyderabad, October 9 - Following the huge success of RRR, maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli's next film is with superstar Mahesh Babu. Tentatively titled SSMB 29, the movie is touted to be a globe-trotting with the king of things the team has planned for this one. ## The movie has been in the pre-production for some time and the latest development is that it will start rolling in January 2025. Award-winning writer Vijayendra Prasad, who has written all the films directed by Rajamouli and also is his father, said in a recent 'Master Class' session that SSMB 29 shoot will commence in Jan 2025. ## It is an adventure movie set against the backdrop of the Amazon rainforest. Vijayendra Prasad has written the script and has worked on the same for nearly two years. He said that the movie will introduce audiences to a completely new world, one that hasn't been seen in Indian cinema before. ## SSMB 29 will mark the maiden collaboration between Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli. Christopher Nolan Confirms His Next Film For 2026 Release

Los Angeles, October 9 - After the box office blockbuster Oppenheimer, maverick filmmaker Christopher Nolan has finalised his next film which will be funded by Universal Pictures.## According to Deadline, Nolan's next will be headlined by Matt Damon and this will mark his third movie with the blockbuster filmmaker after Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023). While the plot details of the movie are kept under wraps, it will have an IMAX release on July 17, 2026.## The shoot of this yet-untitled movie is expected to start in early 2025 and it will reportedly feature many A-list actors to star alongside Matt Damon who now joins the likes of Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy as actors who have worked with Nolan on at least three occasions.## Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's last film Oppenheimer, also backed by Universal Pictures, was released in July 2023 and emerged as a mega box office success, grossing $328.9 million at the North American box office and $975.6 million worldwide. ## Apart from its box office success, Oppenheimer won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. It also won five Golden Globe Awards along with several other accolades.## Stay tuned...

Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' Worldwide Pre-Release Theatrical Business Details

Chennai, October 9 - Superstar Rajinikanth made a grand comeback last year with the mega-blockbuster success of Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The movie made over 600 crores gross worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Indian titles of the year. ## Rajinikanth has now teamed up with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel for an action drama Vettaiyan which is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 10, during Dussehra weekend. The movie carries a decent buzz among the fans and pre-sales are good for the opening day in Tamil Nadu and overseas. ## Meanwhile, Vettaiyan has managed to generate good pre-release theatrical business. In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the movie's theatrical business is valued at 73 crore, according to T2BLive. In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the business is locked at 17 crores while the rest of India theatrical business is valued at 25 crores. ## Apart from the domestic region, the overseas business of Vettaiyan is locked at 45 crores, for the total worldwide business at 160 crores. Prabhas-Fronted Blockbuster 'Kalki 2898 AD' Sets Japan Release

Hyderabad, October 9 - One of the biggest Indian blockbusters of the year, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD is gearing up for its release in Japan and other international territories with Russia and China in the consideration. ## According to Variety, Nag Ashwin directed Kalki 2898 AD will be released in Japanese cinemas in early 2025 through Twin, the distribution company headed by industry veteran Kabata Keizo. The studio previously released SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR which is currently the highest-grossing Indian title in Japan. ## Prabhas is a popular Indian star in Japan. His Baahubali 2 and Saaho are among the highest-grossing Indian titles in the anime country. If Kalki 2898 AD gets a positive reception, it can repeat the success of those movies. ## Apart from Japan, Kalki is also set for a Russian release, with a dubbed version expected to hit theatres in the coming months. The makers are also exploring the options to release the movie in China which hasn't been a regular international market for Indian movies. ## Produced by C. Mumbai, October 8 - The hugely-anticipated trailer of director Rohit Shetty's cop action drama Singham Again was launched on October 7 during an event in Mumbai and it has received a sensational response on social media platforms. ## The nearly 5-minute-long trailer has received a unanimous positive reception from critics and audiences, leading to extraordinary viewership on YouTube and other social media platforms.## The trailer was launched on Reliance Entertainment and Jio Studios' YouTube channels and it scored 52 million views combined on both channels in the first 24 hours. The movie's performance, both at the domestic and overseas box office, has been sensational.## Stree 2 needs just a 5 crore net collection more to enter the 600 crore club and considering the trend and festive season ahead, it is most likely to breach this historic figure. It has been an unstoppable force so far and still has enough gas left to sail through for a few more days. ## In its 8th weekend, the Maddock Films production scored approximately 2.65 crores net which is already the biggest 8th week collection ever in Hindi. The previous biggest 8th-week collection belonged to Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Pathaan which minted approximately 1.70 crores net collection. ## After its 8th weekend (53 days), Stress 2's total collection stands at approximately 594.60 crores net (709.25 crores gross). It is quite remarkable that the movie is still collecting over 1 crore net daily collection despite being in the 8th week. ## In the history of Indian cinema, no other film has earned more than Stree 2 in a single language at the domestic box office and this Amar Kaushik's directorial is now eyeing a rare historic finish by breaching the 600 crores net club. ## The movie still needs a little over 5 crore net collection to enter the next milestone club. Stree 2, unlike its smooth journey so far, will be facing multiple challenges in its bid to breach the milestone. Los Angeles, October 7 - Warner Bros. Pictures' high-profile sequel Joker: Folie à Deux bombed at the domestic (North America) box office with a shocking $40 million opening weekend. This is less than half of what the first movie grossed in the first weekend ($96 million) in 2019. ## Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker 2 is having terrible reviews all around from critics as well as audiences. It is the first comic book movie in history to score 'D' CinemaScore while Rotten Tomatoes score is also around just 30% for both, critics and audiences. ## While the domestic opening of the film is a disaster with a rebound unlikely, Joker 2 has a respectable overseas start in the projected range. At the international box office, the Joaquin Phoenix/Lady Gaga-starrer grossed $81 million from 70 markets in the 6-day opening weekend. ## The UK was the biggest international market for the sequel with an $8 million debut, followed by Germany ($6.9 million), Italy ($5.6 million), Mexico ($5.5 million) and France ($5 million). In India, the movie remained poor with approximately $1.65 million (14 crores gross) after a 5-day weekend.## The worldwide opening of Joker 2 is $121 million which is poor. Joker in 2019 scored a worldwide opening of $247 million, leading its way to a $1+ billion finish. Hyderabad, October 6 - Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1 has a fantastic second Sunday at the domestic box office as it crossed the double-digit collection with a good jump of around 30% from Saturday, completing a decent second weekend. ## As per the early estimates, Devara is expected to gross 8-9 crores collection in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) with a jump of over 30%. In Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, the movie is estimated to gross in the range of 2 crore with the majority of collections coming from Karnataka with good hold. ## Apart from the South Indian states, the Hindi belt continues to bring good collections for Devara. On its second Sunday, the gross collection of the movie is expected to be 4.25+ crores in the North India region while the Hindi-language collection is estimated to be 3.75-4 crores net. ## Overall, Devara is expected to gross in the range of 14-15 crores (12-13 crore net) on its second Sunday (10th day), per estimates. This takes its total domestic collection to 287+ crores (243 crores net) in 10 days. The Hindi net collection has also crossed the 50 crores mark at around 52.75 crores so far. ## Devara has a decent second weekend of around 32 crores gross in India as it continues to sail through despite the mixed reception. It is expected to do well going forward as the holiday season approaches. This was the actor's second release in nearly 6 years and now, he is gearing up for back-to-back films. ## Jr. NTR is currently shooting for Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller War 2 which marks his Bollywood debut. He will soon start director Prashanth Neel's action drama, tentatively titled Dragon, and now according to the latest reports, the actor has locked in one more film. ## As per the latest Telugu media reports, the RRR star has been in talks with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar for a film. It is said that Nelson narrated a few story ideas to Jr. NTR and one of them will be locked soon. It will be the actor's next after Dragon. ## Nelson last directed superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer which was a huge blockbuster last year.
