Mumbai, September 1 - Director Rajkumar Hirani is presently busy in the post-production work of highly-awaited comedy drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The movie is getting ready to release on Christmas this year and it will be Hirani's first film since mega blockbuster "Sanju" (2018).## The maverick filmmaker will next be working on a biopic of Independent India's first cricket captain, Lala Amarnath. Now, according to Pinkvilla, superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are the top contenders to headline this mega project as Hirani wants to make this either of them.## It is said that Aamir Khan has been approached to play Lala Amarnath. The actor has liked the script and shown his interest in doing this. If he comes on board, it will his third collaboration with the Hirani after "3 Idiots" and "PK". In case Aamir Khan passes it up, the filmmaker will go to Ranbir, who headlined his last blockbuster, Sanju. Hirani has briefly spoken to Ranbir about it and will formally approach him after Aamir's final response. ## The biopic of Lala Amarnath is currently in the scripting stage and will go on floors in the second half of 2024. The movie witnessed a drop of just around 52% from the second week which is a phenomenal hold for massy front-loaded movie.## "Gadar 2" was benefited by Rakshabandhan festival as it scored 63.35 crores net collection in the third week. Mumbai, August 30 - Director duo Raj&DK's latest web series Guns and Gulaabs has crossed 20 million viewing hours on Netflix in the first 10 days. The black comedy crime thriller stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, Goutam Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Sanchay Goswami, Gulshan Devaiah, Pooja Gor, and Shreya Dhanwanthary, among other in prominent roles.## "Guns and Gulaabs" debuted August 18 on Netflix and scored 8.1 million viewing hours from 1.3 million views in the opening weekend (August 18-20), and was the 8th most-watched non-English show globally. During the week of August 21-27, the series generated 13.3 million viewing hours from 2.2 million views and was the 7th most-watched title globally.## The total viewing hours of the series are 21.4 million from just 3.5 million views. The reviews from the critics are mixed while audience score is 78% on IMDb which can be seen as decent. Set in the 90s world of crime and violence, it depicts the story of love and innocence blending with humour and romance.## Meanwhile, Prabhas-fronted Adipurush (Hindi) has crossed 15 million views in the first 17 days of its release on Netflix. The movie scored 12.7 million viewing hours from 4.3 million views in the first 10 days (August 11-20). During the week of August 21-27, it scored 2.6 million viewing hours from 900K views, which takes the total watch time of the movie to 15.3 million from 5.2 million views.## Directed by Om Raut, the film is based on the epic Ramayana. It was originally released theatrically on June 16 and met with horrible reviews from critics while audience reception was also negative. It has become the second Indian movie of the year to achieve this milestone.## Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 has so far scored approximately 544 crores gross collection in India (460.65 crores net) while its overseas collection is excellent 61 crores through 3rd Monday (18 days). The worldwide box office collection of the movie has reached 104.60 crores to-date.## Gadar 2 has become the 12th Indian movie and 7th outright Bollywood movie of all-time to top 600 crores worldwide gross. Post the covid-19 pandemic, it the 4th Indian movie and 2nd Bollywood film to reach this box office figure. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG 2 also having a very good run despite competition and not-so mass friendly film.
