Marvel Studios 'Blade' Production Set To Be Delayed Due To Writers Strike

Los Angeles, May 6 - The writers' strike in the USA has started taking a toll on upcoming films, including Marvel movies. ## According to THR, Marvel Studios has stopped the pre-production work on its upcoming vampire thriller feature film Blade starring Mahershala Ali. It becomes the first tentpole movie impacted by the strike. ## Marvel had recently hired "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto to work on the script but it was too late for the studio to avail his service due to the strike. The filming of "Blade" was set to begin next month in Atlanta, which has now been postponed till the strike is over. ## Meanwhile, despite the delay in "Blade", Marvel seems to be upping the ante with other upcoming movies as it is planning on having three movies shooting at the same time along with two series. ## "Captain America: New World Order" is already in development and currently filming in Atlanta. "Deadpool 3" is all set to start rolling this month in London, while "Thunderbolts" is to hit Atlanta in June. Mumbai, May 5 - Warner Bros. highly awaited DC Superhero movie, The Flash release date has been preponed in India by a day. The Ezra Miller-fronted flick will now be hitting Indian cinemas on June 15 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## Directed by Andy Muschietti, "The Flash" was earlier supposed to indulge in a direct box office clash with Prabhas-fronted highly-anticipated epic Adipurush on June 16. However, it is revealed that the movie needs more time in post-production which led to its postponement to Eid next year. Mumbai, May 5 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's long-awaited sports biographical drama film Maidaan might be pushed further as Bollywood sees another big release date shuffle with the summer 2023 releases. ## Shah Rukh Khan-fronted action entertainer Jawan, which was scheduled to release on June 2, will now reportedly be hitting worldwide theaters on August 25 this year. It has made other films change their plans after a few films already postponed their release dates. ## As per the latest reports, "Maidaan", which was scheduled for June 23 release, has been pushed to September 8, 2023. The official confirmation is yet to be made but it seems the movie is indeed moving to September release. ## Directed by Amit Sharma, the film has already been postponed multiple times due to the busy release calendar and the delay in the post-production work. Meanwhile, Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush", which is scheduled for June 16, now has an open run with much threat for at least two weeks. ## "Maidaan" is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962). Mumbai, May 5 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's all-time blockbuster spy action thriller Pathaan is all set to historic release in Bangladesh amid huge excitement among the fans. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" will be the first major Hindi film in many years to have secured release in the neighboring country and will be hitting theaters nationwide on May 12, according to Variety. ## Bollywood films haven't been released in Bangladesh since the country's formation in 1971, in order to protect the local film industry. In 2009, Salman Khan-fronted "Wanted" was allowed to release in the country, however, it was pulled after a week due to a protest led by a local film industry organization. ## Variety further states that in February this year, a consortium of 19 Bangladesh film associations decided to allow 10 Bollywood films to release, and "Pathaan" will become the first Hindi-language film to enjoy a wide release in Bangladesh.## Produced by Yash Raj Films, "Pathaan" is a part of YRF's Spy Universe and also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in prominent roles while Salman Khan plays a cameo as Tiger. It is said to be released on April 10 or 11, and the official announcement for the same is around the corner. ## "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" is a big-scale action entertainer which has been extensively shot at real locations in Europe and UAE. 'The Kerala Story' Set For A Good Start At The Box Office

Mumbai, May 4 - Director Sudipto Sen's drama film The Kerala Story has been at the center of controversy ever since the trailer was launched. The movie is claimed to have been based on true events and follows the story of a group of women from Kerala who are converted to Islam and join the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). ## There was hardly any buzz around "The Kerala Story" a couple of weeks ago but due to the controversy, everyone is now aware of it which is proving to be advantageous as far as the box office of the film is concerned. The movie has been able to fetch a decent advance booking collection and despite being not a mainstream Bollywood flick, it has better pre-sales than films like "Kuttey" and "Gumraah" which had a bigger star cast and scale.## As of 4 AM on May 5, the pre-sales collection of "The Kerala Story" was approx. 1.25 Cr with around 60K tickets sold for the first day. Mumbai, May 4 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action entertainer Jawan with director Atlee is no longer releasing on June 2. ## The makers have been keeping mum on the release date of the movie which leads to frustration among the fans. Amid the continued silence, it has now been reported that "Jawan" won't make it to the June release due to the pending work on VFX. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Jawan" is now looking for an August 2023 release. "Jawan is no longer releasing on June 2, 2023. The team needs some more time to complete the visual effects of the film and they would rather come up with a product that competes with the best in the country than a substandard one".## It is said that the makers are discussing releasing the movie on August 11 or August 25 this year and the official confirmation regarding the same will be made soon.
