The Hindi trailer of the film alone got 20+ million views on YouTube. Bengaluru, October 20 - Actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty's adventure action thriller film Kantara is holding phenomenally well over the weekdays at the domestic box office. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" is on course to enter Rs. 200 crores club at the worldwide box office. At the time of its release, even Rs. 100 crores was looking like a far cry but such has been the response to the movie from audiences across the country, Rs. 200 crores now looks well within reach. ## The movie has grossed approx. 170 crores worldwide in 20 days and by the end of its week, it is expected to reach about 175 crores. With the Diwali holidays upfront, "Kantara" should reach the milestone despite the fact that there are many films releasing this weekend across languages. ## "Kantara" has grossed approx. 120 crores in the original Kannada version, followed by Telugu with approx. 18 crores (5 days), and Hindi with approx. 15 crores (6 days). The reboot of the 1979 cult classic "Maula Jatt" has been the most talked about Pakistani film and it didn't disappoint. ## Directed by Bilal Lashari, the action fantasy grossed PRK 51 crores ($2.3M) globally in the opening weekend from 25 markets and over 500 screens, setting a new record for the Pakistani film. In Pakistan's domestic market, the movie took an opening of $517K. ## The movie opened at a number in many locations, and in the UK, the movie scored the highest opening weekend for any Pakistani or Punjabi film with $355K from 79 locations. Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' Leads PVR's Earnings In Q2 of FY23

Mumbai, October 19 - PVR Ltd, the film exhibition company in India, has reported a net loss of Rs 71.49 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2023. During the same quarter last year, the company reported a loss of Rs 153.27. ## PVR said in a regulatory filing that approx. 18 million (1.8 crores) patrons visited its cinemas during the quarter as the revenue from operations in the 2nd quarter stood at Rs 686.72 crore as compared to Rs 120.32 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. ## The company said in the statement that the underperformance of most Bollywood movies was the major reason behind the losses. Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part 1 - Shiva, however, led PVR's earnings during this period with Rs. 75.6 crores, followed by Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder with Rs. 42.10 crores. ## The highest-grossing South Indian movie at PVR property during the Q2FY23 was Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam Rs. 16.7 crores, followed by Karthikeya 2 with Rs. 14.7 crores. ## PVR reported that there was an 11 percent growth in the average ticket price at Rs 224, while spending on food and beverages grew by 31 percent per patron at Rs 129 compared to the pre-pandemic period of the second quarter FY20.## Top 5 movies at PVR during Q2FY23 - ## 1. Mohanlal's 'Monster' Gets Clearance To Release In Bahrain

Kochi, October 18 - A day after the news of the ban on Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Monster in the entire gulf over LGBTQ content, the Bahrain censor board has reportedly lifted the ban on the movie. ## According to the reports, the Bahrain censor board asked the makers to cut a few scenes in the movie in order to get clearance for the release in the country, to which, the makers agreed to the board's demand and around 13 minutes of the movie have been cut. ## This move has come as a big relief to the makers as Bahrain along with other gulf countries, is the big market for Malayalam movies. It is said that the makers have already applied for re-censorship of the movie in the entire gulf, and just like Bahrain, they are hopeful that other countries will also approve the film with some obvious changes. ## "Monster" is directed by Vysakh from a script written by Udaykrishna.
