Hugh Jackman Shoots Down Return As Wolverine In Marvel Cinematic Univers

Los Angeles, August 11, 2021: Hugh Jackman, the fan-favorite one of the X-Men, Wolverine, has done his part for the MCU charactor and shoot down any possibility of returning to the franchise. The actor, who debuted in 2000's X-Men adaptation in the fierce role of Logan aka Wolverine, quickly became a fan favorite and went on to star in both sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. ## The character was loved by the audiences to an extent that he went on to appear in three Wolverine solo films, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, and X-Men: Days of Future Past before getting to star in his final solo film, Logan. However, Jackman's character had a tragic end, signaling the end of an era.## With Marvel Studios going to explore the multiverse in its phase 4 movies, there were speculations that Wolverine could appear in the MCU. However, it seems that there is nothing left for Wolverine in the franchise. In an interview with SR promoting his upcoming film Reminiscence, Jackman was asked about whether or not he would return to the role of Wolverine in the MCU. ## Expressing his gratitude towards MCU and his relationship with Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Jackman said that he is grateful for the role of Wolverine and calls it "the role of a lifetime". But said that the role of a much loved MCU charactor is in the past and that chapter is seemingly closed. ## "It's in my past, man. Don't tell anyone, alright? Let me just say one more thing. Because as I said that, thereโ€™s not a day that goes by where I'm not unbelievably grateful for having been part of that MCU Universe. Particularly to be there at the beginning of it, and to watch it. To see Kevin Feige going from being an assistant to a producer and a mate of mine, to where he is today. And that was a role of a lifetime. So, I don't ever want people to feel that when I say I'm done, it's a glib thing. Delhi, August 10, 2021: It was the day of the big screen premiere of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer, Shershaah, ahead of its worldwide release on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video. The makers held a special screening for VIPs at Chanakya PVR theater in Delhi last night (August 9) for army captain and Param Veer Chakra Awardee, Vikram Batra's biopic. ## Directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Kaash Entertainment, the makers booked three screens in the plex - one for Captain Vikram Batra's family clan, the other for Army personnel, and the third for Sidharth Malhotra and his friends-n-relatives.## Since the movie is very much concerned with the Indian army, the reaction from army officials was largely positive and they loved the movie. Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Earlier in the day (August 10), Farhan Akhtar announced his next film that will mark her directorial return after Don 2 (2021). Led by an all-female cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, the movie titled, Jee Le Zaraa, will be a road-trip film that will go on floors in mid next year and will hit cinemas in 2023. ## A few hours after the movie announcement, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram and recalled that it was a movie that was planned last year in February before the covid-19 pandemic forced a strict nationwide lockdown. She shared a picture with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif which was clicked in February 2020 when they first met to discuss a film with an all-female cast. ## Priyanka Chopra revealed that she wanted to do a very different Hindi film as soon as possible after The Sky Is Pink, and called up her 2 real friends, Katrina and Alia to discuss the same. They approached Farhan with the idea who was coincidentally planning a female road trip movie at the same time. ## "Let's rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019", PC wrote on Insta. "But it had to be the right one - different, cool, never been done beforeโ€ฆ I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone callโ€ฆ to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. A celebration of friendship we called it!!". ## "Katrina, Alia, and I enthusiastically met in February 2020 (as seen in this picture), just before the world shut down, to discuss who we could trust to bring this vision to life for us and our choice was unanimousโ€ฆ Farhan and Ritesh, Zoya and Reema. ICC Confirms To Bid For Cricket's Inclusion In The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Cricket has been waiting to be included in Olympics for more than a century now. And now, the wait could see an end in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday (August 10), confirmed that it will bid for cricket's inclusion in the games. ## The international cricket body has been making a case for cricket's inclusion in Olympics for a while now and it will also have backing from the richest cricket board BCCI as made clear by Secretary Jay Shah recently. The last time cricket was a part of the Olympics was in 1900, when Great Britain played France. And now, the world's one of the most followed sport, cricket could become a permanent fixture in the games with the ICC hoping to see it included in Brisbane 2032 as well and beyond. ## Earlier, the BCCI was not too keen on cricket's including in the Olympic games as it feared the loss of its autonomy and interference from the Indian Olympic Association (IOC). However, things changed after Jay Shah took charge of the Board. He was recently quoted as the BCCI being on the same page with the ICC on the matter. ## ICC chairman Greg Barclay said, "Firstly on behalf of everyone at the ICC, I would like to congratulate the IOC, Tokyo 2020, and the people of Japan for staging such an incredible Games in such difficult circumstances. It truly was fantastic to watch and captured the imagination of the world and we would love for cricket to be a part of future Games". ## "Our sport is united behind this bid. And we see the Olympics as a part of cricket's long-term future. We have more than a billion fans globally and almost 90 percent of them want to see cricket at the Olympics. Clearly, cricket has a strong and passionate fanbase, particularly in South Asia where 92% of our fans come from, whilst there are also 30 million cricket fans in the USA. The opportunity for those fans to see their heroes competing for an Olympic medal is tantalizing". ## "We believe cricket would be a great addition to the Olympic Games, but we know it won't be easy to secure our inclusion as there are so many other great sports out there wanting to do the same. Warner Bros. & DC's 'The Suicide Squad' Underperformed Amid Delta Variant Concerns And Hybrid Release On HBO Max

Los Angeles, August 9, 2021: Warner Bros. R-rated comic book adaptation, The Suicide Squad, has had a disappointing debut at the domestic box office. The James Gunn directorial collects only $26.5 million from 4,002 North American theatres, $3.5 million short from Warner Bros. prediction of $30 million domestic debut. ## There are many factors that went against the film's strong opening, including the growing concerns of the delta variant of the covid-19, the Warner Bros. film's hybrid release on HBO Max at no extra cost to subscribers, and its R-rating. The makers cost $185 million on film's making, and its low performance will surely make Warner Bros. rethink its simultaneous release strategy. ## At the international box office, 'The Suicide Squad ' added another $45.7 million from 70 overseas territories, bringing its global tally to $72.2 million. The standalone sequel to Suicide Squad (2016), opened with largely positive reviews from critics and audiences but it fell way short to reprise the success of the original movie. ## The original Suicide Squad had a massive $133.7 million opening weekend at the North American box office. Despite those eye-popping numbers, critics and audiences were left unimpressed by the film, though it ended up grossing $746 million worldwide. Of course, that film didn`t open during a deadly pandemic and wasn`t offered simultaneously on HBO Max. ## While it's still unclear how many HBO Max customers watched the film at homeโ€”and how many more were enticed to sign up for the streaming service - it is clear that the film's $185 million production budget is going to be tough to turn into the sort of huge moneymaker that comic-book movies were guaranteed to be prior to the pandemic. ## The Suicide Squad stars an ensemble cast including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi. Hyderabad, August 9, 2021: The makers of the highly anticipated Telugu movie, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, have unveiled the teaser on Mahesh Babu's birthday today (August 9). The teaser, which is titled Superstar Birthday Blaster, was supposed to release at 9:09 am on August 9, the makers decided to drop it hours before the actual time to surprise the fans. ## The teaser video, which is 1 minute and 16 seconds long, is all about Mahesh Babu's intriguing character in the film and his chemistry with the leading lady of the film, Keerthy Suresh. The teaser showcased Babu's personified swag which he has carried throughout his career. It also shows the high-octane action sequences. ## The teaser begins with Babu's stunning entry from a red-car and his massy dialogue, "If Tiger takes a rabbit, how it will be? Same if you miss the interest, you will get your date", which is being highly discussed on the internet. The music by Thaman S adds extra fuel to it which makes the teaser more thrilling and blasting. ## Directed by Parasuram Petla and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Entertainment in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment, SVP is touted to be a big-budget blaster.
