Suriya Plays A Retired Madras High Court Judge In 'Jai Bhim' Based On A Real 1993 Legal Battle!

Chennai, July 29, 2021: Tamil superstar Suriya is working on some of the most exciting and intriguing films. One of them is his 39th film, titled "Jai Bhim", directed by Tha Se Gnanavel and produced by the actor's home banner, 2D Entertainment. ## "Jai Bhim" is based on a real-life courtroom incident. In a recent interview, director TJ Gnanavel has said that the film is based on a real legal battle of a famous lawyer Chandru who brought justice to an Irular tribe woman in 1993. Mr. Chandru was a retired Madras High Court judge when he fought the case for a Tribal woman. Suriya plays justice Chandru's role in the film. ## Though Suriya initially thought of only producing the film, he later read a book on Chandru and came forward to play the particular character. Retd. Judge Chandru is a highly respected Judge, who disposed of 96,000 cases. Gnanavel says contrary to reports, Suriya plays the lead and it's not an extended cameo. ## Manikandan and Lijo Mol Jose play the tribal pair in the film. Rajisha Vijayan is the female lead while Prakash Raj plays an upright cop in Jai Bhim. Sean Roldan is composing the music for the film, SR Kathir cranks the camera, and Philomin Raj takes care of the cuts. ## Apart from Jai Bhim, Suriya will also be starring in Etharkkum Thunindhavan (Suriya 40), directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures. The production house treated his fans with first, second, and third looks posters on his 46th birthday recently. It's Official: Aditya Roy Kapur To Headline Hindi Remake Of Tamil Blockbuster Thadam

Mumbai, July 29, 2021: Last year, on March 4, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani announced his next film as the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Thadam, in association with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the movie couldn't go on floors as scheduled in May.## The film that was supposed to be headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur finally went on floors in November last year with major changes. However, earlier this year, Sidharth did object to the new screenplay which resulted in, the actor opted out of the movie that put a brake on the further proceedings.## And now, Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have roped in Aditya Roy Kapur, as reported earlier, in the remake of Arun Vijay starrer. The Hindi remake of Thadam will be directed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar and it will go on floors in September this year. Apart from Adi, Mrunal said to remain a part of the cast as the female lead. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. ## "I am excited and inspired to be a part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. As an actor, getting a chance to do a double role is double the preparation and double the challenge, and I'm certainly up for it. Working with like-minded people is always fun, that is why I like collaborating with Murad Bhai. The last film we did with Aditya was an action film and everyone loved him in that role. We all mutually agreed he will fit the characters in this as well".## Since the release of Thadam in 2019, producer Murad Khetani was keen to make the film for the Hindi audience. Talking about the film he shared, "When I watched Thadam I instantly knew that this story needs to reach the masses. Soon after I reached out to the Tamil makers and acquired the rights of making this film in Hindi. When I shared the story with Bhushanji, he came on board immediately. Aditya has been doing great work and his image as an action hero is being highly appreciated. Mumbai, July 28, 2021: The covid-19 pandemic is continuing to disturb the release schedule of Indian films. If there was no covid-19 second wave, some of the big stars' movies would have been released by now including KGF: Chapter 2, Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi, Radhe Shyam, among others. ## However, as the situation is improving day by day, some of the films are gearing up for release in theaters. Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom was announced for July 28 release (today), and now, it will reportadly be releasing on August 19 in 3D. Meanwhile, Yash starrer highly awaited, KGF: Chapter 2 is now eyeing December 2021 release, for which, the official announcement will be made soon. ## After July 16 release was wiped out due to the closer of cinemas, KGF 2 was said to be releasing on September 9. However, as some of the Hollywood biggies are planning to release in the August and September window, also the possibility of the third wave around this time, the makers of Prasanth Neel directorial thought of releasing the movie in December as best possible release window. ## On the other hand, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's period romantic film, Radhe Shyam, was all set for a grand theatrical release on July 30. However, it is now learnt that the big-budget bonanza will arrive on Sankranthi 2022. The new release date of Radhe Shyam is expected to be announced on July 30. A few days of shoot is still left and the post-production will also take some time, so the Sankranthi 2022 festival seems to be on for Radha Krishna Kumar's directorial. ## If reports are to be believed, Sankranthi 2022 may witness a mega box office clash of Telugu biggies. Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Pawan Kalyan - Rana Daggubati's movie have already been booked for the festive release while F3 and Radhe Shyam also aiming the same window. Mumbai, July 28, 2021: Amid the rumors of Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte starring in a Netflix original film, the streamer has officially announced the movie titled - Monica, O My Darling. The film is named after RD Burman's cabaret item number that was filmed on Helen in the 1971 movie, Caravan. ## Announcing the film, Netflix unveiled the first look posters of Radhika Apte, Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi among others featuring in the film. The movie will be directed by Vasan Bala, known for Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Netflix series 'Ray', among others while it will be produced by Sarita Patil of Matchbox Shots. ## Director Vasan Bala said in a statement, "Making a noir film was always on my wishlist, and making it for Netflix with Matchbox Shots makes it an absolutely riveting combination. Chennai, July 28, 2021: After returning from the US after completing Russo Brothers' Netflix movie "The Gray Man", Tamil superstar, Dhanush, had resumed shooting for his next film with the director Karthick Naren, referred to as #D43. Now, on Wednesday (July 28), the makers of the film have unveiled the first look and title of D43 on the actor's 37th birthday. ## The film, titled "Maaran" also stars Malavika Mohan playing the female lead. It is said that Dhanush and Malavika are both playing journalists in this film, which is said to be an emotional action thriller. Mumbai, July 28, 2021: Ajay Devgn and Priti Sinha are producing a web series on Disney Plus Hotstar, titled "Six Suspects", the official adaptation of author Vikas Swarup's 2016 book by the same name. The show reportadly went on floors in February 2021 end. ## Ajay and Priti had assigned Tigmanshu Dhulia to direct the show while Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi and Richa Chadha roped in to play the leading roles. The web show will also star Ashutosh Rana, Raghubir Yadav, and Sharib Hashmi in important roles. ## The "Six Suspects" web series marks Ajay Devgn's digital debut as a producer as well as Priti Sinha's. Priti is the daughter of (late) Vinay Sinha who produced the Salman Khan-Aamir Khan-Raveena Tandon-Karisma Kapoor's unforgettable comedy 'Andaz Apna Apna' (1994). Priti is Ajay's rakhi sister.## It has been reported that Ajay and Priti have acquired the rights to two books of Swaroop- 'Six Suspects' and 'The Accidental Apprentice'. Dhulia has completed 50 percent of the show in places like Delhi, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Allahabad and is currently shooting in Mumbai. ## Vikas Swarup's book "Q & A" was adapted into the academy-award-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire' directed by Danny Boyle. Hyderabad, July 27, 2021: The festival of Sankranthi 2022 is going to be epic for Telugu cinema lovers who will witness one of the biggest Box Office clashes on the auspicious occasion. Elaborating it further, Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be competing with Pawan Kalyan - Rana Daggubati's yet-untitled film on Sankranthi 2022. ## Directed by Saagar K Chandra, the PSPKRana movie is said to be the official Telugu remake of the 2020 Malayalam action thriller film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum. The Telugu remake marks Kalyan and Daggubati's first collaboration. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, the movie recently resumed shooting in Hyderabad. ## Pawan Kalyan is playing the role of a police inspector as Bheemla Nayak. Trivikram has penned the dialogues while Thaman S has composed the music of the film. Sithara Entertainment took to Twitter and shared a video giving a small glimpse from the sets of its #ProductionNo12 and also announced the release date. ## ## On the other hand, Sarkaru Vaari Paata was officially announced last year on 31 May 2020, on the occasion of Babu's father Krishna's birthday. Directed by Parasuram, the Geetha Govindam director called the project a "dream come true" moment as the movie marks his first collaboration with the actor. The movie also stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. ## Sarkaru Vaari Paata is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus, and G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment while S. Thaman has composed the music. The movie is scheduled to release in January 2022 coinciding with Sankranti. ## Meanwhile, it is the second time in a row when Mahesh Babu's film with be clashing at the box office with another big star's movie. His last film "Sarileru Neekevvaru" had completed with Allu Arjun's "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" with both released one day apart. Mumbai, July 27, 2021: Last year in December, Mansi Bagla of Mimi Films acquired the Hindi remake rights of three South Indian films. One of the three films was the 2020 Malayalam crime thriller film, Forensic, starring Tovino Thomas, and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. For the Hindi remake, Vikrant Massey was roped in to step into the shoes of Tovino Thomas. ## Now, the makers have cast Radhika Apte to star alongside Vikrant in the film. Radhika will reprise the role of Mamta Mohandas as Senior Superintendent of Police. The movie will be directed by Vishal Furia, known for directing tv series, The Missing Stone among others. ## "There is a particular way to navigate thriller movies and with Forensic, it hits all the right notes. I am looking forward to starting this project and work with a talented costar like Vikrant and our director Vishal who has such a clear and interesting vision for this film", Radhika said in a statement. ## The first look of the suspense crime thriller was revealed on Tuesday. 'Forensic' will also mark the reunion of Vikrant and Furia, who have previously worked together on the web show 'Criminal Justice'. Talking about the upcoming film, Vikrant shared, "I have always believed in the story being the frontrunner for a film and when director Vishal Furia narrated the script to me, I was intrigued as an actor and as a member of the audience". ## It will be produced by Deepak Mukut, Mansi Bagla, and Varun Bagla under their banners of Soham Rockstar Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Mini Films, and co-produced by Hunar Mukut. In June, it was reported that South Indian actress, Raashii Khanna will play the female lead in the series. Warner Bros. Announces The Release Dates Of The Suicide Squad, The Conjuring 3, And Mortal Kombat In India

Mumbai, July 27, 2021: As theaters have reopened in most of the states of India, Hollywood production house, Warner Bros. has announced the release dates of its three much-awaited films - The Suicide Squad, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and Mortal Kombat, in India. ## "Mortal Combat", and "The Conjuring 3" have already been released in international markets but were delayed in India due to the covid-19 pandemic. These two films will now release on July 30 and August 13 respectively in multiple Indian languages. "The Suicide Squad", however, will release in India on the same date as its international release on August 5. ## Martial arts fantasy film, Mortal Combat, had previously released in India in April in languages other than Hindi. The Suicide Squad and The Conjuring are popular franchises in India and are sure to attract audiences to the theatres on their names. ## "It is heartening to know that Warner Bros Pictures have announced the release dates of Mortal Kombat, The Suicide Squad 2, and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Many states have given permission for cinemas to re-open and the release of these movies in three consecutive weeks in multi-languages and multi-formats would surely give a boost to the industry by inducing moviegoers back to the big screen to enjoy these amazing films", Kamal Gianchandani, CEO, PVR Pictures said, as per News18. ## Meanwhile, Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious 9", which was announced for August 5 release in India, has now been postponed. Considering the franchise's popularity in India, the production house has decided to release the film once key markets like Maharashtra open up.
