Paramount Pictures Unveils Title And Plot Details Of 7th Installment Of Transformers Movie

Los Angeles, June 23, 2021: Paramount Pictures is all set to take the Transformers franchise to the next level with its seventh installment. During a virtual press event, Paramount revealed that the 7th film in the Transformers franchise will be titled - Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, indicating something beastly. ## The forthcoming Transformers movie will be different from its previous films in many ways. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., who last directed Creed II, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will include robots who transform themselves into animal forms like a gorilla, falcon, and rhinoceros. ## "There are different breeds of Transformers. In our particular film, they are prehistoric animals who travel through time and space, and we find them here on Earth", said Caple revealing that Optimus Prime will be the film's main hero and that the fan-favorite character will appear in his G1 form. ## The main villain will be named Scourge, who has 'big clawed hands and smoking exhaust ports on his shoulders. Scourge takes the symbols from his victims and fuses them onto his body as trophies. The movie will also feature Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in the lead human roles. Ramos will essay the role of a Brooklyn-based ex-military electronics expert while Fishback will be portrayed as an artifact researcher in the film. ## Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime. The movie will partially be set in Brooklyn, New York, and will also go to Peru, among other locations. Rahul Dholakia, who was directing the biopic, has backed out of the film sitting scheduling issues. ## "I won't be directing the fabulous script written by Priya Aven and conceived by Ajit Andhare. Unfortunately, I won't be part of the dream, but I am, and will always be there for them to realise their dream. COVID messed up everyone's schedules, mine was no different. Opening up about the same, Srijit Mukherji said that Mithali Raj's tale has always been an inspiration for him, and he is excited to be a part of the film. ## "Being a cricket buff and researcher, Mithali’s tale has always been an inspiration to me. I was excited since I had first heard of this film being made and now that I am a part of it, I look forward to kickstarting the journey to bring this exhilarating story to the silver screen soon", said Srijit.## Shabash Mithu is being produced by Viacom18 Studios. Ajit Andhare, the COO of the production house, said that it was unfortunate that Rahul had to leave, but his contribution will remain with the film. ## "COVID disruptions have required rescheduling of the shoot and, as a result, Rahul is moving on from Shabaash Mithu. It's unfortunate that after sharing and nurturing this dream for a long time, Rahul has to part ways. Log Angeles, June 20, 2021: The early box office predictions suggesting that Marvel Studios' Black Widow will outscore Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious 9, in the opening domestic weekend. Both movies are due to release on July 9 and June 25 respectively in the US. ## Black Widow and F9 were originally slated for 2020 release but the covid-19 pandemic delayed the releases by a whole year. And now, as theaters begin opening and the box-office starts to back on track with hits like A Quiet Place 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong - Black Widow, and F9 are set to be the biggest hits of the pandemic era. ## The fact that Scarlett Johanson fronted, Black Widow is a two-way release in theaters and on Disney Plus Premier Access for $30 simultaneously as compared to F9, which is an outright theatrical release. Still, Black Widow is expected to win the box office war against the high octane actioner, F9. ## According to Boxoffice Pro, Black Widow is expected to score between $65 million to $90 million in compared to F9's $50-$70 million in the opening weekend. Going by the predictions, Black Widow is set to become the top-grossing opening domestic weekend since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. ## Despite the covid-19 effect, Black Widow's opening weekend projection is already ahead of previous MCU movies such as - The Incredible Hulk ($55 million) and Ant-Man ($57 million). Both Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor opened to $65 million in 2011 and that matches Black Widow's lowest box-office predictions ($65M). If Black Widow opened to the highest projection of $90 million, it would top the opening weekends for Ant-Man and the Wasp ($75 million) as well as Doctor Strange and Thor: The Dark World ($85 million). ## Directed by Cate Shortland, the upcoming prequel is set to showcase the return of Scarlett Johansson as the titular spy. While the plot details are still being kept under wraps, Black Widow has been confirmed to be set in between the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). ## Scarlett Johansson will be joined by Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and David Harbour in prominant roles along with O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, and Ray Winstone. The early reviews from Black Widow are highly positive as critics are calling it one of the best solo films of Marvel Studios.## Meanwhile, on the other hand, Justin Lin's directorial, F9, has already opened in many international markets including China. It has crossed $200 million at the China box office while the overall collection of F9 is around $300 million.
