Mumbai, July 19 - Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has shared some exciting news about the future of its horror-comedy universe and also revealed the next movie after Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 which is scheduled to be released on August 15. ## During the trailer launch event of Stree 2 on July 18 in Mumbai, Dinesh Vijan shared fascinating information about what viewers can expect after Stree 2 which is the 5th movie in Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya.## Speaking about the movie, the filmmaker said, "Stree 2 is like the mother ship. It answers a lot of questions that Stree's first part raised. It also tells you what the connections are". Mumbai, July 16 - In one of the biggest box office clashes of the year, Shraddha Kapoor's highly-anticipated horror-comedy Stree 2 to battle it out with Akshay Kumar's comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's action drama Vedaa on August 15, Independence Day.## While a three-way clash is always a risky move, the makers of the respective films have already reportedly started blocking screens, confirming that they are in no mood to back out and let go of that lucrative date with a month to go for the release. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Stree 2 is running ahead to grab the maximum number of screens against Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, due to being a highly anticipated movie and strong distribution team. Mumbai, July 16 - Producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has issued an official statement on the recent speculations about the remake rights of its action thriller Kill which is currently playing in theatres and doing decent business.## Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill was announced to be remade in Hollywood by John Wick director Chad Stahelski even before the film's official release in India on July 5. Mumbai, July 14 - Akshay Kumar's biographical drama Sarfira has a low first weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 12 crores net which is one of the lowest for the actor in many many years. ## Sarfira opened to poor numbers which proved to be fatal for the movie despite the good jump in the collection. On its first Sunday/third day, the movie scored an estimated 5-5.25 crores net, jumping around 20% from yesterday, for around 12 crores opening weekend. ## These are good collections for a non-star film but for someone like Akshay Kumar along with a top star cast, 12 crores weekend is disappointing. There is an appreciation for the movie but it hasn't been able to covert this into footfalls in large numbers. ## To have some sort of legs at the box office, Sarfira will have to beat the opening-day collection and try to come close to second-day figures of around 4 crores on its make-or-break first Monday. It, however, won't be easy due to competition and a proper working day. ## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) remained in the similar range as yesterday as estimates suggest the first Sunday collection around 1.30 crores net for approximately 3.80 crores opening weekend in Hindi which is very poor. ## The movie witnessed a drop of around 15% in the collection for all languages on its third Sunday for an estimated 17.50+ crores gross (15+ crores net). All India opening weekend of Indian 2 is around 69+ crores gross (59 crores net) which is underwhelming as there were huge expectations from the film. Mumbai, July 13 - After the low start, Akshay Kumar's Sarfira witnessed a jump of around 70% on its second day, however, the overall collection remains low due to the poor start which was one of the lowest for the actor in many many years.## According to the early estimates, Sarfira has earned in the range of 4-4.25 crores net on its first Saturday/second day, pushing the total to around 6.50+ crores net in 2 days which is poor collection. The movie needed to score a jump of over 100% today, although it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the lost ground it could have given the movie some sort of momentum. ## The word of mouth for the movie is positive but to say that it will make any positive difference to the overall collection is tough to guess because these kinds of films have been struggling to bring crowds to the theatres in large numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend total is headed to finish around 12 crores net.## Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (Hindi) hasn't seen any growth today as estimates suggest the second-day collection of the dubbed version to be around 1.25 crores net, pushing the total to approx. 2.50 crores net in two days as opening weekend heading for around 4 crores net.## There was some drop in the collection of the Telugu version of the film as the first Saturday estimates for all versions of Indian 2 suggest the collection to be around 20 crores gross (17 crores net) for around 50 crores total domestic gross in two days. Triptii has reportedly been assigned to play an emotionally taxing character opposite Dhanush's angry young man in the movie which is scheduled to go on floors by October this year after getting delayed due to Dhanush's commitments for South Indian films. It will primarily be shot in Varanasi and other parts of Uttar Pradesh over two months.## Meanwhile, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his second directorial venture, Raayan in which he is also playing the lead role.
