Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time sees a drop of around 60% on its first Monday, which is a working day from Sunday, which was expected due to mixed word of mouth and huge first-weekend collection. ## The drop could have been even bigger if not for the home state, Tamil Nadu where the movie remained solid by holding close to 50% collection on Sunday. According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score in the range of 13-14 crores gross collection on its 5th day/first Monday in Tamil Nadu. ## The total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is around 120 crores in 5 days. The stardom of Thalapathy Vijay on the home turf continues to attract the audience that is proving to be a lifeline for The GOAT which is otherwise a goner in the rest of the domestic market as overall estimates suggest around 16 crores gross (14 crores net) collection on Monday. ## After the first Monday, the total domestic collection of The GOAT is around 177 crores gross (151 crores net), per estimates. Chennai, September 9 - One of the biggest Tamil films of the year, Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a fantastic first-weekend collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu and overseas box office, however, the movie is not performing in other parts of the country. ## Other than Tamil Nadu, The GOAT has heavily underperformed in other states of India, especially in Telugu and Hindi states where it has grossed just around 23 crores of gross collection. The performance of the movie in Telugu states is shockingly poor as Thalapathy Vijay's previous few films did well there. ## While the audience outside Tamil Nadu is not loving the movie, director Venkat Prabhu has made a weird excuse for the film's failure in Telugu and Hindi. During a recent interaction, the filmmaker stated that due to the references to the IPL cricket team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the movie, it is not working in Telugu and Hindi. ## The rivalry of CSK with Sunriseres Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which has massive fan-following nationwide, is well known, and director Venkat Prabhu feels that because he supports CSK, the audience of Telugu and Tamil are staying away from watching the movie. ## This is a funny excuse by a seasoned filmmaker as the movie, unfortunately, is not resonating with audiences. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has become the 8th movie of the actor to cross 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu after the excellent 4-day first weekend. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 106 crores gross in the state. It opened to a huge 29.50 crores gross in TN upon its Thursday release, followed by a fantastic hold on Friday with approximately 21.50 crores, while Saturday and Sunday collections were 27 and 28 crores gross, respectively. ## As said, it is Thalapathy Vijay's 8th 100 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Mersel (2017) was the first film of Thalapathy to breach this milestone. After Mersel, the Leo star has done 7 films (Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Beast, Varisu, Leo, and The GOAT) and all of them went to the top 100 crores gross in the state. ## Vijay is the undisputed king of the Tamil Nadu box office and has delivered every time irrespective of the reviews. This is by far the biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024 and one of the biggest of all time. ## The Venkat Prabhu's directorial is showing a fantastic hold everywhere, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu, and the overseas territories. The first Sunday domestic collection of The GOAT remained flat, but still huge by every means with an estimated 40 crores gross (34 crores net) in all versions.## The total domestic collection of The GOAT is around 161 crores gross (137 crores net), per estimates. In Tamil Nadu, the movie remained rock solid and has crossed 100 crores gross in just 4 days. Chennai, September 8 - Thalapthy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a sensational third at the worldwide box office. The movie, despite the mixed reviews, is being massively driven by the stardom of Vijay at the box office. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 66 crores gross globally, including 39 crores in India on its third day/first Saturday. With this, the total worldwide collection of the movie is 221+ crores gross after three days which is the highest for a Tamil movie of 2024. ## The GOAT, however, became the biggest Tamil grosser of the year on its second day itself after beating Dhanush-fronted action thriller Raayan which grossed approximately 154 crores worldwide. Chennai, September 7 - Thalapathy Vijay's stardom is full on display at the box office as his latest blockbuster The Greatest of All Time is putting up a sensational show despite the mixed reviews and word of mouth from audiences. ## After the fantastic first 2 days at the domestic box office, The GOAT showed a very good jump of around 25% on Saturday for an estimated 37-38 crores gross collection (32-33 crores net) in all versions. The movie continues to score excellently in Tamil Nadu while other states remain on a decent level. ## In Tamil Nadu, The GOAT is expected to score 25-27 crores gross collection on its third day which takes its total collection to 76+ crores gross in the state. Chennai, September 6 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has had a sensational opening at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection, making it only the second Tamil movie of all time to do so, after Leo.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 52 crores gross collection in India and 48 crores overseas for 100 crores gross start. This is the second biggest opening for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office after Thalapathy Vijay's Leo which grossed approx. 142 crores. ## The GOAT is the 12th Indian movie to take the opening of 100 crores or more globally, and it is the 9th South Indian film to do so. In 2024, it scored the second biggest opening for an Indian title after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. Domestically, it scored third best start of the year after Kalki and Stree 2.## The Greatest of All Time is produced by AGS Entertainment and is the penultimate film of Thalapathy Vijay before his political entry. The movie received mixed to positive reception from the audience, but it didn't stop the movie from taking a huge opening at the box office. ## Thalapathy Vijay has proved in the past that his movies are critic-proof and have scored a big collection at the box office. The GOAT, as far as the opening is concerned, is proving critics' reviews as a secondary thing once again. ## According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score 28-30 crores in gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu. The TN collection might vary depending on offline ticket sales in smaller centres which is a massive aspect of South Indian movies. ## Outside Tamil Nadu, the action thriller is looking to score in the range of 9 crores gross collection in Karnataka, and 6+ crores gross in Kerala. Hyderabad, September 3 - The much-awaited Tamil action thriller The Greatest of All Time has scored the record pre-release theatrical business for Thalapathy Vijay in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). ## Vijay's popularity has been soaring across the country, especially among the Telugu audience with each passing film which has been reflected in the theatrical business. According to the Telugu trade portals, Mythri Movie Makers has acquired the theatrical rights of the movie in AP/TG. ## The film's AP/TG theatrical business has been valued at 21 crores, including 12 crores for the Andhra region. This is the highest pre-release business for Thalapathy Vijay in Telugu states, beating the previous record of Leo (16 crores). ## The GOAT will need to score around 35 crores in gross collection to break even in AP/TG. 'Kanguva' Scores Record Post-Theatrical Streaming Deal For Suriya

Chennai, September 3 - One of the most-anticipated Pan Indian movies Kanguva has scored the record post-theatrical streaming deal for actor Suriya. The movie is directed by Siva and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in prominent roles. ## According to Forum Reelz, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Kanguva for all languages. The streaming giant has paid a whopping 100 crores to grab the rights and this is the biggest streaming deal for Suriya. ## Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva was supposed to hit the big screens on October 10 but has now been postponed to November 2024 in order to avert a clash with superstar Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan which is scheduled for Pan India release on Dussehra. ## Kanguva is a story that travels 500 years from the 1700s to 2023 about a Hero who has to fulfil a mission left unfinished. Complete Main Cast of Superstar Rajinikanth-Fronted 'Coolie' Announced

Chennai, September 2 - Blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time for an action drama film, titled Coolie. The movie, produced by Sun Pictures, is shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated movies of 2025. ## Over the last few days, the makers have been introducing the main cast of the film with the first-look character posters. On August 28, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir was introduced as Dayal to play one of the important roles, before the announcement of veteran Telugu star Nagarjuna as Simon on the next day. ## Shruti Haasan as Preethi was announced to play the female lead on August 30 while Sathyaraj as Rajasekar was announced to play a prominent role the next day. Kannada star Upendra, who has been in the news for the last couple of weeks for his role in the film, was finally confirmed on board as Kaleesha. He is reportedly playing the role of the main villain. ## After all the main supporting cast, the makers introduced superstar Rajinikanth as Deva on September 2nd. In the first look poster, Rajinikanth can be seen holding a number tag that coolies wear with 1421 written on it. Interestingly, all the actors were introduced with monochrome posters and gold is also a common factor in them. ## Meanwhile, there are rumours that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will be playing a cameo role in Coolie, however, the official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
