Chennai, November 29 - Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's much-awaited action thriller Vidaamuyarchi unveiled the teaser on November 28 at 11:08 PM without the prior announcement. The teaser, which has no dialogue, looks stylish with action-packed visuals. ## Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi surprisingly has been confirmed for Pongal 2025 release though the exact date is yet to be revealed. It is worth noting that Ajith Kumar's action comedy Good Bad Ugly is also scheduled for the same slot release in Tamil and Telugu. ## Despite the confirmation of the Pongal release, the Tamil media reports suggest that Good Bad Ugly won't be ready to meet the deadline and will most likely be postponed to the March/April release. Chennai, November 28 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja could be up for rich rewards at the China box office after the film off to an impressive start in the premieres there. The movie is scheduled for a full-fledged release on November 29. ## Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja grossed approximately $630K (5.40 crores) in the premieres and sold approximately 118K tickets. The advance booking for the opening day is 100K with 18K tickets sold over 26.8K showings. ## There has been a shortage of Indian titles at the Chinese box office in recent times and those which got released during this period failed to make a mark. Maharaja, with a promising response in the premieres, has a chance to make it big there. ## Maharaja was originally released in June this year and turned out to be a big blockbuster at the worldwide box office with over 105 crores gross collection. Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' Latest Update Revealed

Chennai, November 28 - Superstar Rajinikanth made a roaring comeback at the box office with director Nelson Dilipkumar's action drama Jailer which grossed over 600 crores worldwide. Shortly after the mega success, the sequel of the movie was confirmed and is now gearing up to roll out soon. ## According to the latest reports, the look test of Rajinikanth for Jailer 2 happened recently and a promo shoot for the same will be done on December 5. It is reported that the film will be officially announced on the superstar's birthday on December 12 with the first look promo. ## Director Nelson Dilipkumar has reportedly completed the script work of Jailer 2 and the rest of the cast for the same is being finalized. Sun Pictures will produce this mega project which is easily one of the most anticipated Tamil films in the making.## The original film follows "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), a retired jailer who decides to protect his family from idol smuggler Varman. A Sequel To Tamil Blockbuster '96' In Development

Chennai, November 28 - Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan's romantic drama 96 has been one of the most loved Tamil movies in recent times, not just in the original version but also the dubbed versions have been widely appreciated. ## Released in 2018, the film was a box-office blockbuster and received for its heartwarming writing and performances by the lead pair. 96 was also remade in Telugu and Kannada with different titles and now, the news is that the sequel of the film is in development with the original cast and crew.## According to Venkatramanan, C. Chennai, November 25 - Tamil star Suriya's most ambitious film Kanguva has crossed 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. While this could have been a major milestone of any other film of Suriya, the same is not with Kanguva which is facing outright rejection from audiences after a promising yet underwhelming start. ## Directed by Siva, Kanguva was a film keenly awaited by audiences and was seen as a potential big blockbuster at the box office. But all the hype around the film faded immediately after it got a disastrous reception from the moviegoers and critics upon release and there was no relief since then. ## The film crossed 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office on its 10th day. Domestically, Kanguva has grossed approximately 78 crores, including around 32 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Chennai, November 19 - Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan's biographical war action drama Amaran has entered the 300 crore club at the worldwide box office, becoming only the 8th Tamil movie of all time to achieve the milestone. ## The Rajkumar Periasamy's directorial venture topped the milestone on its 20th day (third Tuesday) as the total worldwide collection is expected to be around 301+ crores gross, including 224+ crores gross domestically and 77+ crores at the overseas box office. ## Amaran is the second Tamil movie after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time and 8th Indian title of 2024 to hit the box office milestone of 300 crores gross. It is the first for actor Sivakarthikeyan along with actress Sai Pallavi and director Periasamy to have this achievement. ## Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures Films India, Amaran is easily one of the biggest blockbusters of Tamil cinema. Chennai, November 19 - Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's action comedy Good Bad Ugly is one of the most anticipated Tamil movies of 2025. The film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. ## Good Bad Ugly has been eyeing Pongal 2025 release since its announcement and now, the same has reportedly been confirmed. Chennai, November 16 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy action thriller Kanguva failed to score a big jump on its first Saturday which was a must after the underwhelming second day. As expected, the negative word of mouth has started cutting the audience. ## According to the early estimates, on the first Saturday/third day the all-India gross of the movie is almost in the similar range as yesterday with around 11 crores gross. The movie has seen a decent but not enough jump in the home state Tamil Nadu with an estimated around 5 crore gross collection today. ## Kanguva needed a big jump today to cover the lost ground but that didn't happen which shows the movie is facing rejection from the audience. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie has seen a drop almost everywhere which is concerning. It is unlikely the movie will see much turnaround on Sunday but a drop will seal the deal. ## The total domestic collection of the film after 3 days is around 51 crores gross which could have been a very good collection of any of Suriya's previous films but can't be said the same about Kanguva which was made on a huge budget. Box Office: 'Amaran' Tops 200 Crore Gross Collection Domestically

Chennai, November 16 - Sivakarthikeyan's mega-blockbuster Amaran has unlocked one more milestone as it has become the second Tamil movie of 2024 to top 200 crores gross collection at the domestic box office after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## The movie, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, crossed the milestone on its 16th day after grossing another 4+ crores on the day. The total domestic collection after the third Friday stands at approximately 202 crores gross (175+ crores net). ## Amaran is expected to score a 100% jump on Saturday and then have another big day on Sunday as the third weekend is probably heading for around 20 crores gross which will take the total domestic collation to around 218+ crores gross.## Overseas, the biographical action drama has so far grossed an estimated 75 crores in 16 days and the movie has a chance to top 300 crores gross worldwide by the third Sunday. Chennai, November 16 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja which scored a huge commercial and critical acclaim earlier this year, is set to hit Chinese theatres later this month. The movie is directed by Nithilan Saminathan and produced by The Route, Think Studios, and Passion Studios. ## Maharaja was released in June this year and five months later, director Nithilan confirmed on social media that it would be released in China on November 29 by Alibaba Group. The cast of the movie also includes Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natty Natraj in important roles. ## It is the 50th movie of Vijay Sethupathi and it emerged to be his biggest grosser with a worldwide collection of approximately 106 crores. Some of the Indian films have done wonders in China and Maharaja clicks with the audiences, it can reap rich rewards at the box office. ## The film follows Maharaja (Sethupathi), a barber in Chennai, who goes to the police station to retrieve his stolen dustbin only for the police officers to find his intentions to be something else. Box Office: 'Kanguva' Second Day Early Estimates

Chennai, November 15 - Tamil star Suriya's big-budget fantasy entertainer Kanguva might be starting to feel the heat of negative word of mouth as the collection on its second day/first Friday dropped by over 50% from the record Thursday opening for the actor. ## It was going to be tough for the film to come close to the opening day numbers as word of mouth was poor and that came into effect on its second day only. According to early estimates, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 4-4.50 crores in Tamil Nadu on its second day, which is a drop of around 60%. ## The movie is witnessing a similar drop in Telugu states for an estimated 2.25-2.50 crores gross while in Kerala, the collection dropped massively for an estimated 75 lakh (-80%) and in Karnataka, the movie has minted around 75 lakh, again a heavy drop. ## Kanguva has a decent day in the Hindi belt though the drop is still there for an estimated 3+ crores gross as all India second-day estimates suggest the collection in the range of 10.50-11.50 crores gross, pushing the total to around 39 crores gross after 2 days domestically.## The film has a big Saturday and Sunday to make a mark as it looks like it will struggle big time beyond the weekend. Box Office: 'Kanguva' Opening Day Early Estimates

Chennai, November 14 - Tamil star Suriya's long-awaited fantasy action drama Kanguva hit the big screens today amid huge expectations at the box office. As expected, the film has taken the career-best opening for the actor by a good margin. ## According to the early estimates, Kanguva is headed for opening in the range of 11-13 crores gross in Tamil Nadu which is a decent start. In Telugu states, the movie has taken a good start with an estimated gross collection in the range of 5.50-6 crores. ## Kerala was one of the best-performing states for Kanguva in advance sales and the film scored a very good opening of 4-4.50 crores gross there. In Karnataka, it is expected to score in the range of 2.50+ crores gross while the movie surprises in the North belt with a better-than-expected start. ## As per estimates, Kanguva is expected to gross around 4 crores in the Hindi belt as all India estimates suggest 26-28 crore gross opening day (including 3D charges). While this is a good start for the movie, it somehow fell short of expectations as a whole, especially in Tamil Nadu. ## As said, the opening is good but the road ahead might be a difficult one for the film.
