Mumbai, January 18 - Marvel/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is setting new benchmarks at the domestic as well as the international box office. The superhero movie is heading towards a $1 billion overseas box office, that too without a single penny from China. ## The Tom Holland-fronted film has so far grossed $926.3 million through 63 international markets and over $700 million domestically (North America), pushing global cume to $1.62 billion. It is currently the 8th highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office and will grab the 6th spot in the list by the end of next weekend.## Meanwhile, "No Way Home" has become the highest-grossing film of all time in Mexico with $72 million. In Brazil, it is the second highest-grossing film ever with $50.4 million, so in Central America ($12.6M) and Ecuador ($7.9M).## In North America, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" becomes the 4th highest-grossing film ever. After the end of the 5th weekend, it was the 5th biggest-grosser there with $698.7 million and became 4th biggest on Monday by crossing Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" ($700.06 million). ## The Jon Watts-directed is likely to finish with $1.75 billion globally. Mumbai, January 17 - Warner Bros. India has announced the release date of the biographical drama film, "King Richard", starring Golden Globe award-winner Will Smith in the title role. It was theatrically released on November 19, 2021, by Warner Bros. Pictures and on the HBO Max streaming service on the same day in North America.## The movie, which follows the life of Richard Williams (played by Will Smith), the father, and coach of famed tennis players Venus and Serena Williams, will be released in Indian cinemas on March 25, 2022. Los Angeles, January 15 - Marvel Studios' highly anticipated sequel to "Black Panther" is on track for the scheduled release in November 2022, despite the delayed production. The production of the film got halted due to the injury of British actress, Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the film. ## On Friday, Letitia resumed shooting for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", almost five months after being injured when a stunt went wrong. At the time of injury in August 2021, it looked she would be resuming work soon but the recovery took longer than the expected time which led to the postponement of the production in November. ## Wright's Princess of Wakanda character is expected to play a bigger part in the blockbuster's sequel. The late Chadwick Boseman led the 2018 film and his role has not been re-cast following his death in 2020. ## While the release dates of 2022 Marvel Movies were already postponed due to the production changes, it was reported that "Black Panther 2" could be further delayed due to Letitia's injury. However, this is not the case as production resumed on schedule and the movie is also very much on track for its 11 November 2022 release. ## Wright's spokesperson told BBC News, "Filming resumed this month as planned and we're on schedule".## "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is one of the most anticipated films coming in 2022. The original "Black Panther" was a major hit on both, critically and commercially front. Despite the covid-19 third wave, the studio announced that the movie will be released as scheduled along with its domestic release on March 4, 2022. ## "The Batman", starring Robert Pattinson as Gotham City's enigmatic protector, will be one of the first major Warner Bros. films to have an exclusive theatrical release during the covid-19 pandemic. Universal/Illumination's computer-animated musical comedy film, "Sing 2" has become the first animated movie to reach $100 million at the domestic box office (North America) since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by Garth Jennings, the sequel to the 2016 film "Sing" breached the $100 million mark on Saturday in just 17 days of its release. This also becomes the first animated film to pass $100 million domestic since Frozen II ($477 million from a $130 million debut) in November 2019. By the end of its 3rd weekend, "Sing 2" will likely stand at $107 million domestically.## Overseas, the Matthew McConaughey/Reese Witherspoon/Scarlett Johansson-led film has earned approx $68 million, pushing its worldwide box office total to $175 million. In a recent interview with InStyle magazine, Gal Gadot opened up about what people can expect from the film.
