The 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was also released simultaneously on Disney+ Premier Access with $30 additional fees required in the US. ## As expected, Black Widow opened with highly positive reviews from critics and audiences. Currently, the movie is "Certified Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an 80% critics score and 93% audience score. Critics have called it one of the finest solo superhero films from Marvel Studios. ## Not only the critics and audiences, the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" star Tom Holland too enjoyed watching this much-awaited film from Marvel. [Director] James Cameron offered me 10% of it". For the record, Avatar is the highest-grossing movie ever with $2.8 billion at the box office. ## "I will go down in history… you will never meet an actor who turned down more money", Damon continued at Cannes where his crime drama film, Stillwater premiered. ## When someone in the audience pointed out that James Cameron is well underway on his sequels to the movie, Damon joked, "There are sequels? Oh my god". He, however, reasoned that he was shooting the Jason Bourne movies when Avatar was offered to him and took the "moral" decision not to leave that franchise in the lurch. ## In Damon's place, Sam Worthington was cast in the lead role and earned an award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for his work but presumably didn't get 10% of the original's profits.## Avatar, which also starred Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, among others, was released in 2009 and its sequel is gearing up for the worldwide debut on 16 December 2022, followed by 3 more films in the franchise in 2024, 2026, and 2028. Los Angeles, July 9, 2021: Universal Pictures has signed a landmark deal with sister streaming service Peacock for its upcoming films. Starting 2022, all Universal movies will be heading to Peacock no later than four months after they open in theaters. ## The new deal will allow Peacock to stream Universal films such as Jurassic World and the new Halloween movie, among others to premiere them within four months after their theatrical release, as well as within the final four months of an 18-month window. ## On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV have also reached a multi-year licensing agreement with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group that will give the streamers access to blockbusters like F9 and Jurassic World: Dominion after they stream on Peacock, in a total of 18-months window. ## Universal said the traditional 18-month window would be divided between Peacock and other partners, as follows: For the first and last four months, Universal movies will play exclusively on Peacock; for the intervening 10 months, they will be made available to Prime Video and IMDb TV. ## Under the Amazon deal, IMDb TV — Amazon's free streaming service — will also have AVOD and SVOD rights to titles like Dolittle, The Invisible Man, F9, and Sing 2, as well as animated titles like Despicable Me 2, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Shrek 2.## The new deals between Universal Pictures and streamers, come in light of the effect, the covid-19 pandemic has made. Before the pandemic era, movies didn't go to streamers before six to seven months of their theatrical run. The star filmmaker and Oscar winner, who has written, directed, and produced several Hollywood films, runs his own theater, New Beverly Cinema, in Los Angeles, California. The historic movie theater recently opened its gate after almost a year. ## Now, Tarantino has announced that he has purchased Vista Theatre. It is a historic single-screen movie theater in Los Angeles, California, located in Los Feliz on the border with East Hollywood. While he showed his big belief in cinema-going, Tarantino commented during a recent episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, that some of the big movie chains that have shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic "deserved to go". ## "I never like any theater closing, but some of these exhibitors that are going, they fucking deserve to go. They've taken all the specialness out of movies anyway, some of these chains", Tarantino told Shepard (according to variety), explaining that he doesn't believe a movie theater should "recreate my living room". ## Quentin Tarantino said that those who have shut down theaters due to the pandemic will regret it as he thinks boutique cinemas "will actually thrive in this time". Announcing the purchase of Vista Cinema, with plans for it to open around Christmas, the filmmaker said that they will show new stuff in it. ## "When we opened up the New Beverly about two weeks ago, in June, we sold out every single show. And I'll announce one thing here that people don't know yet: I bought the Vista (theater). We're going to probably open it up around Christmastime. And again, the only film", Tarantino said. ## "But it won't be a revival house — we'll show new movies that come out where they give us a film print, we'll show new stuff. It's not going to be like the New Beverly, the New Beverly has its own vibe. The Vista is like a crown jewel kind of thing. So it will be the best prints, we'll show older films, but they'll be like older films where you can hold a fortnight engagement", he added. ## Talking more about Vista Theater, it opened on October 9, 1923, as a single-screen theater. In addition to screening films, the theater also showed vaudeville acts on stage. The original seating capacity in the auditorium held space for 838 seats. The owners later removed every other row to allow for increased legroom, reducing the number of seats to 400. ## The Vista is now a first run theater, meaning they screen new movies and as Tarantino said, it will remain a first-run theater, and wherever possible, they will be screening 35mm prints.## Stay tuned...

Pratt's character, Dan Forester fights aliens after being sent into a future war to save mankind from losing a global war against a deadly alien species, in this Chris McKay directorial. ## In the movie, which was supposed to debut in theaters last year, Dan Forester teams up a scientist and his alienated father to make sure a long life for his young daughter and to rewrite the planet's fate, by traveling to the year 2051. Pratt says he doesn't believe in aliens but it is the story of the film that moved him to do it. ## "There are a lot of films you would want to see in the theater. But I think this story is so good that if the script was just read to you, you'd be moved", Pratt told Variety at the movie's June 30 premiere at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. ## Moving forward, Pratt will be returning as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero films, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Thor: Love and Thunder. While the filming on Thor 4 has recently been concluded, the action star confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 starts filming later this year. ## While he was tight-lipped on what fans can expect from the ragtag, intergalactic crew's next adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the best summation of his quote was that it is going to be director James Gunn's another masterful work. Reflecting on working with Gunn and Thor 4 director Taika Waititi, Pratt described both directors as rock stars in their own way who have their own styles of working. Los Angeles, June 23, 2021: Paramount Pictures is all set to take the Transformers franchise to the next level with its seventh installment. During a virtual press event, Paramount revealed that the 7th film in the Transformers franchise will be titled - Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, indicating something beastly. ## The forthcoming Transformers movie will be different from its previous films in many ways. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., who last directed Creed II, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will include robots who transform themselves into animal forms like a gorilla, falcon, and rhinoceros. ## "There are different breeds of Transformers. In our particular film, they are prehistoric animals who travel through time and space, and we find them here on Earth", said Caple revealing that Optimus Prime will be the film's main hero and that the fan-favorite character will appear in his G1 form. ## The main villain will be named Scourge, who has 'big clawed hands and smoking exhaust ports on his shoulders. Scourge takes the symbols from his victims and fuses them onto his body as trophies. The movie will also feature Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in the lead human roles. Ramos will essay the role of a Brooklyn-based ex-military electronics expert while Fishback will be portrayed as an artifact researcher in the film. ## Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be set in the year 1994 and will narrate the backstory of Optimus Prime.
