Hyderabad, August 30 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been a massive box office success and the way it concluded has increased the excitement for its sequel to the next level, however, there is a catch. ## While the buzz around Kalki 2 is at an all-time high, the producers have confirmed that the movie won't be hitting the big screens until 2028. ## Producers and sister duo Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies were present at the screening of Kalki 2898 AD at the Moscow Film Festival where they said that the filming of Kalki 2 will start in the next five or six months, around January or February 2025. (via News18). ## Kalki 2898 AD was shot in a lengthy period of 3 years and unconfirmed reports have said that the sequel will take another 3 years before it gets ready to hit the screens. This means Kalki 2 will be released in 2028, and producer Priyanka Dutt said that they will be able to talk more about it once it starts.## As reported earlier and hinted at in the climax of the first part, Kalki 2 will focus on Yaskin's character (played by Kamal Haasan), the antagonist of the franchise, as he embarks on his perilous mission. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film managed to generate a good buzz, thanks to the teaser/trailer and other promotional activities.## Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is easily one of the most-anticipated tier 2 Telugu hero movies and this led to very good worldwide theatrical business for the film. Scheduled to be released on August 15, Double iSmart also features Sanjay Dutt in his Telugu debut and Kavya Thapar in prominent roles.## Double iSmart is an important movie for both Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh and they seem to have gone all out for this mass entertainer just like the first part. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Beats 'Jawan' To Become 4th Biggest Grosser In India

Mumbai, August 6 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, beating megastar Shah Rukh Khan-led 2023's mega-blockbuster Jawan. ## The domestic box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 760 crores gross (640 crores net) in all languages after 40 days, which takes it past the entire run of Jawan's 760 crores gross. At the time of writing this piece, Kalki has surpassed Jawan in terms of both net and gross collection. ## The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD is leading the pack with approximately 350 crores gross (290 crores net), followed by the Telugu version with 335 crores gross while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have grossed around 75 crores so far.## As said, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 will remain the biggest domestic grosser with a mighty 1417 crores gross (1030 crores net), followed by KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR at the second and third with 1001 crores gross (860 crores net), and 916 crores gross (782 crores net), respectively.
